Former Hair stylist here.. the reason it lifted your roots the first time , and will continue to do so during touch ups, is because all *permanent* box dyes use 20 developer which LIFTS virgin (non colored) hair and then deposits color. So you will ALWAYS get a lighter root if your roots are virgin. Hair color can't lift colored hair. So when you put permeant box die, all the previous colored hair will be darker and roots lighter. That's why it worked the second time, because you were putting the color on top of color and so no lift happened at your roots. In the future get NON PERMANENT. It's not only way healthier (ammonia-free) but it will fade nicely and will not give you "hot roots" (that's the term usually used). Even with permeant dye, especially dark colors.. it's never truly permanent anyway, it fades and usually fades reddish brown. So a level 4N demi permanent ( lasts 28 washes) would be ideal for you, if you are doing box color 💕💕.
I'm confused. Can you suggest a demipermanent that's close to this color, do you think revlon colorsilk 20 is close enough? I have virgin medium-brown hair and I want it darker, I wouldn't mind if it's permanent, but I don't want the root lift...could I apply the ends and then roots...? Or are they still going to lighten? Ugh. The demipermanent colors I'm finding don't match this color, this is the exact color I want. This is so stressful, lol, I feel like this should be fun 😮💨
Omg your one of those people who look normal when your hair is in a bun or up, but the second they put their hair down, they automatically turn into a super model like wtf man. Like you were a completely different person when you put you hair down
I'm 8 months now and I feel ready to fix up my hair and dye it 😊 ive been afraid of doing so but after talking to my doctor she said dying hair does not affect the baby!
I've had pretty much the same experience many times! I have found that it's not necessarily the dye colour that makes a difference, but the process of dying it the second time. I always buy two boxes, and if my roots look red after the first application, I'll dye it again!
My mom was a hair stylist as well when i was growing up! It was so awesome bcuz she could cut my hair any way i wanted and help dye my hair.😊 I too just cant justify always spending 200 plus on my hair for a trim & one color no highlights. Im a mom too & i will pay for a haircut but i dye my own to this day! No issues so far. My hair has been my natural dark auburn brown for 3 yrs now. So i found u bcuz im dying it this week! Wish me luck! Im a new sub btw!😊
LOL - I really laughed fast and hard when you said that you don't have any gray hair; but that your baby may give you some gray hair. I needed that! :-) Thanks!
this video is kinda old now and you may know this now but the reason your roots were lighter and gingery is because you did your roots and when you do that the heat from your scalp causes the rots to develop more.
I'm glad to have seen the 5 though, I'm a blonde person, so 5 might be a good darkness for me. I am currently coloured with L'oreal's 36, light golden brown. Gonna try the 6 next, but I do miss the medium brown I was last year, just blonde roots growing out under medium brown hair looks really silly...
I think the mistake was having passed the root first, and it passed a lot. The root, in addition to the natural hair, is also hot, taking effect very quickly, when I dyed it also happened ;( . The dark brown was perfect
Hi. The coloir turned out amazing. Do you know if Loreal Preference 3 and Loreal Excellence 3 have the same outcome? I have seen videos of others dying their hair with 3 and its pitch black. Yours has a beautifil dark brown to it
I want to go dark brown my hair right now is dirty blonde more light brown then blonde and I have dark eyebrows but I’m not sure if I’d look good or not
So exciting!!! GOOD LUCK!! My little girl is now two months old! It all flies by so fast! Enjoy every moment, even the challenging times near the end of pregnancy!
Omg you are so beautiful ❤🤣if you think color the hair is too expensive in America or UK, You can go to Taiwan and make balayage ,highlight anything you want to do. Because in our country , do these things are cheaper than many countries and very natural haha ❤❤. Btw my english isn't great but I really want share with you 😊😊😁❤. Thank for your time. 😃😃
Do you really think travelling to Taiwan or any other country ( almost the other end of the world) just to get your hair done is even feasible or logical to begin with 🙈
