It's highly subjective yes, but if you are trying to add it to a broth or soup that's supposed to have a light color you probably wouldn't want your mushrooms to make it look muddy.

FINALLY someone with some sense! I can't believe people don't clean or remove gills...the taste is much better as well..
what about the small ones? You do those like this too?
Once the grills are removed do we have to wash the mushrooms
What can you do with the gills ??? Garden? Save for a mushroom soup ? Etc
