high feed tools always run without coolant. the insert would break from thermal shock. air can be used to get rid of the chips but it doesn't really cool down the tool.
@@back2mind high feed tools do not always run without coolant. You can run high feed tools in aluminium and you would absolutely need coolant! Do not forget coolant does more than just cool, it serves 2 other very important jobs. It lubricates and it clears swarf from the cutting face. With the case of cutting steel, you do not need to lubricate the cut, the heat is removed with the chips and the air blast removes the chips that is why it is cut dry. Thermal shock absolutely plays a role with the use of coolant but it is only part of the answer in this case
@@jchelm1979 trochoidal milling in aluminium with coolant is definitely new to me, the companies around here and most videos I've seen so far never use coolant with this kind of tools. might be possible that there are a few aluminium sorts that need coolant but in general they run without.
back2mind firstly video's generally run minimal coolant with aluminium for cinematic effect. Secondly trochoidal milling is not magic. Aluminium needs lubricating! It sticks to carbide like shit to a blanket! You're clearly not a skilled and experienced engineer!
9:00 some very impressive plunge milling with a very long arbour on that tool. But completely unnecessary as it's a 5-axis machine. Simply index the machine and machine from the side using a shorter more rigid tool!
Yes you are Right. But this part is for a open house meating to customers. What we want here was to show also our vibration damping holders in action. Not every body has 5-axis machine so this part was made for also for 3-axis machine owners. To make it short it is a Demo :)
Merhaba Ozan Bey. I'm sorry. I was being sarcastic. The name of the tool maker was flashing on screen the whole time. Sometimes in multiple places. It was just a joke. My bad.
I am sure Harun can make that piece much faster and better, this is just for showing at an open house at DMG i think, not sure. Its a big expensive workpiece, not cheap steel.
Great tools indeed, i use them daily and with coolant you can even bring up youre feeds slightly😊
With kind regards to my Ustad from belgium..👋
Thanks a lot Cim Bom 🙂. We use air cooling because it increases the tool life a lot.
Are they cutting with air ? Bcos they never used coolants

Yes we use Air for cooling
I'm kind surprise when you used shell mill to cut part in z axis direction . What kind of toolpath is that? What percent of step over ?
Plunge milling

Hi , it id plunge milling and my stepover is 10mm.

Machinist i Will use my long damping holder with finishing tool
Hi my friend, one question, how is made the program for milling spiral outside to inside
Hi Dani
It is made by Cam system. Edge Cam Wavefrom
@@CNCMACHINIST. do you have instagram ?
Assalamualaikum, brother Harun.
HOCAM CAM PROGRAMI TERCİHİNİZ NEDİR? EDGECAM ? NXCAM?

Your spindle sounds like an angry Hornets nest lol
It's the sound of the air coming out of the air nozzles. The spindle on these machines (especially at low rpm) is pretty much dead silent.
Anyone know who this tool is made by? I couldn't tell.
Hi Michael McDonald
Do you mean the tool supplier or?

Thats not a DMC 1450....i think it´s a DMU75
Correct :)
