At this point she’s made it her entire personality- a permanent get out of jail free card if you will to excuse anything and everything
I’m all for Amber improving but I don’t understand the insistence on therapy. Maybe just my experience but I found therapy to be incredibly useless. Lots of meaningless abstractions, therapists that lacked both insight and empathy, and just all around a negative experience. After forgoing therapy and trying things out on my own I cannot understand why people always recommend it as the first solution.
And someone like Amber would use therapy to reinforce their narcissistic tendencies. I think she’d be better off doing workbooks at home, joining a support group, and reading philosophy (although I doubt she would do that lol). Honestly I don't know that anything would help Amber. I always forget how lazy she is…

I feel you on the bad experiences with therapy, but Amber's demonstrated two things: 1) She can't help herself and 2) She's never taken therapy seriously. She constantly uses the audience as an emotional vent, but her venting doesn't lead to better decision-making, to improvements in her mental health, nor to meaningful self-reflection.
She *needs* a professional and she *needs* to seriously work at it; I've seen suggestions for inpatient more than just therapy, but I do think she should give a genuine effort at therapy *at the very least*
She will actually block you on Instagram or delete your comment if you tell her to go to therapy.
@@highlyunderstated9908 That's just your experience. I have CPTSD and it has saved my life. Many, many more people benefit from it than don't, especially those with trauma or personality disorders. It's also very possible that you did not have the right kind of therapy (talk therapy as a whole is not as effective for complicated cases) or the wrong therapist.

Oh my god YES!!!! So my many clients come in and I have to explain to them they need to take the comb to the ROOT of the pets hair, just like they would their own! A cat like Wasabi with dense hair I'd suggest her to get a Long and Short toothed comb.
Some people are saying it's just his fur when he lays down it's like dude on his fur there are clear mats and discoloration like brown spots. I think people have lost their mind if they see that and think he's ok.

As someone with a long hair cat, it happens SO FAST sometimes, especially with my 12 yo boy. It is Def a learning curve and I'm so grateful someone took the time to show me how to brush properly. Even if someone pointed it out to Ambie I doubt she would change a damn thing about her care. A mistake isn't a mistake if you keep on doing it after you know it's wrong....

No way does she brush Wasabi everyday. If she did he’d have smooth healthy silky fur. Poor baby it will be difficult for him to groom himself once his coat becomes that unkempt. Cats are very particular about being able to keep themselves clean so this won’t be pleasant for him at all.I haven’t forgotten the lazy way she feeds her cats either with that recent shot of food on the worktop just over spilling from the bowl. You can’t just do that it will spoil after a day or so. She needs to spend less time duck pouting with him and more time actually maintaining his health.

Amberlynn is the epitome of the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t. She is too comfortable as is, and too scared of what could be. She’s scared to get physically and mentally healthy. I know Zack talks a lot about going to therapy, but the reality is therapy is work, it’s hard work. It’s an intentional commitment to changing. She’s been in a state of arrested development for like the last 5-7 years.

I think she relies heavily on external sources for a sense of identity. I don't believe she's very capable of turning inward and reflecting. Ive often wondered, due to certainly things I've seen in her vlogs, (such as no common sense to be found) I'm leaning toward a developmental delay. Its possible as well that her and her siblings were victims of drug abuse in the womb, which could contribute to characteristics she seems to have.

“The devil you know” is a fantastic comparison here. I was obese most of my life, too, for fear of what was “on the other side”. She turns the dial up on this in every aspect of her life.
I do NOT belive that cop story. A cop stopped her and just took her name and not an id or birth date, and then ran her common ass name and assumed she had a warrant just based on her name. What cop would do that. Plus we would have heard this story so much with extra details and how it was traumatic, etc.

The story behind this is - if I recall correcrtly - that she happened stranded somewhere and needed to walk home (Idk if that was the time Destiny left her behind but irrelevant) but instead she asked a random cop that was on duty and asked him for a ride. He was pretty annoyed I think. Idk they asked her name tho lol.

@@strawbunnybunbunny idk i have a long-haired cat & i wash/clean her brush every single time i brush her and there is always, somehow, miraculously, hair still on it. it's fucking maddening & doesn't happen for my short-haired cats, so a long-haired cat like wasabi would probably still have fur on it, even if amberlynn WAS super regimented & persistent with cleaning the brush (which we all know she is not)

Court records and criminal history can absolutely be recorded incorrectly. It can be a real pain to get them corrected (depending where you are in the world). But what baffles me... is that mamalynn has never looked at what is out there? When you know you have a record, keeping tabs on what is out there so you can warn employers etc is pretty par for the course (and i have big feelings on holding criminal history against people forever, when there are many years of demonstrated evidence of change. A topic for another day).
Which then got me thinking... does mamalynn work? How does she pay the bills?

I thought about this too, if her mom had ever been employed between now and back then, she would probably have seen the mystery charge.
I wonder also about her mom’s situation, she might be on parole,
might be ashamed or avoiding responsibility by refusing to speak to the channel about it and say her peace. If I were accepting of my faults, and had served prison time for my mistakes, I would want to be the one to explain the situation.

Taking accountability doesn't require publuc declarations, unless you've done something in the public eye (ie her mum seems to have forgiven her, Amber has forgiven her. That's good enough for me) mamalynn isn't Amber and doesn't have to do anything on the channel to "atone".

it’s really b/c she doesn’t come across as a success story. she still seriously struggles w/ food/addiction, she’s not consistent w/ treatment including dieting, she continues to show signs of neglecting her pets and can barely take care of herself, she becomes codependent on all her partners or potential partners AND she’s manipulative.
anyone w/ trauma will never be a perfect person. but facing the music and changing is essential to healing.
It doesn’t need to be inspirational or helpful bestie. It’s her story and she’s allowed to tell it regardless. Let’s nitpick some actually problematic behavior perhaps

I would view Amber's comments on her parents as bashing because she casts judgement as she brings up their addiction. She said she doesn't believe they'll ever get better; she *only* talked about them as negligent addicts; she would use their addiction as a reference point for why her food problems weren't actually bad
She’s always been so quick to bash other’s addictions but the moment someone brings up her food addiction, it’s “hate” or “bullying” - she’s either ignoring the hypocrisy or she’s just that dumb
Agree. It’s just like when she’d tell stories of her parents and it would shift from a happy memory to something extremely traumatic. She set up the overshadowing of negativity and is upset because it’s all her audience knows. I don’t doubt her positive memories are tainted by the negativity, but she can’t blame everyone else for thinking her parents aren’t the best based on what she has said.

Next frame looks like she used a whole can of dry shampoo. Gorl is going through it right now. She's taking care of herself as well as she takes care of her cat. She needs inpatient care and to lose weight NOW. It won't be long before she's bed bound and she's run everyone off that would help care for her.
Her self-care and hygiene has always been iffy, but it's gotten exponentially worse in recent events. She's declining.

I’ve been in therapy actively for about 6 years now. Without trauma dumping my background is emergency medicine and military aviation. I took my work home with me often and had to do something about it. If anyone needs help please reach out for it. Today most offices have Skype meetings so you don’t have to go anywhere. Don’t take advice from Amber. She’s getting better but she is not ready to help others yet

In ambers defense…. I own a long haired Cavalier King Charles spaniel. And I HAVE to brush him every day and he can literally create a mat or go outside and get a little seed in his fur and make a mat the same day. I can brush him and spray him with leave in conditioner and he looks beautiful and like 2 hours later hes a floofy mess again 😂 and this is inbetween professional grooming every 5 weeks. So long haired animals are just straight up another beast 🥲
