If you want a smoother workflow for adding tracks to your playlists; make an intelligent playlist with a BPM range of 0-200 and call that your "Collection'' or whatever works for you. Work from that playlist to get things going faster.
Awesome, we get to come up with work arounds for their lame upgrades, go team Alpha Theta, try hiring DJ's who actually know how to use the product instead of just engineers. I have worked on these kind of teams and get how it goes. The Product Manager needs to be fired.
My workaround was to create a smart playlist called Collection. That way my collection is available in the playlist view. Thanks for the alternative options
Thanks. I have to move from Serato to Rekorbox and this video is useful to me ! Serato's interface is so much better imo, clear and intuitive with rights colors and good layout. Even the horizontal 4 tracks display make more sense on Serato. I don't understand why Rekorbox is so late.
Absolutely agree. I don't understand who are this people who decide what will they change in new versions ? Do they ask any DJ for opinionios before ''upgrade'' ? Why they always remove most logic, most natural and easiest solutions ? BTW....on my Rekordbox 7 + XDJ XZ isolate option doesn't isolate sound as it should. There's no difference between isolate and EQ whatsoever. Maybe you can check this out....find solution ?
Is it possible to set different cue points on on the same song on different playlists? That is something that is bothering me since day 1, and so far my only solution is to make a copy of a track on disc and add it as a new track to another playlist. How you guys dealing with it?
@@ReallyChrisM I'm on mac, so there is option when right click on the track on playlist "show in finder" then folder with this track open, I make a copy of a file and put it in another playlist as a "brand new song" and treat it with different cue points 😂 Unfortunately, haven't figure out any other way around - maybe different colors of cue points to be organized for different playlists if that is possible? But then we are still runnin into problems with older equipment which will read only memory cues... hopefuly they will figure out a way to allow us treat tracks different in separated playlists, it would be a huge positive update! 🙌🕺

In RB6 I could move from one playlist to another, and it would remember where i left from in that playlist. In RB7 now when i move between playlist, it resets back to the first song in the playlist, meaning I have to scroll back to where I was before. A pain when your playlist contain lots of tracks. BTW this is issue is in performance mode
Soooo...I hadn't updated since rekordbox 5 So I did an update a few days ago to 7 and I just feel so confused about what I am looking at. I have actually been taking music from my computer and going directly into 1 of my Playlist and by passing putting into my collection file
Still haven't / won't update because I had heard about this, I switched to Pioneer / USBs so I wouldn't have to look so much at computers. As a UI/UX designer for 25 years, hard pass on the upgrade. I know Pioneer is industry standard and it's why I switched to them, but the greed / lameness is going to blow up for them eventually.
Hey bro! Could we get a video explaining how to hardware unlock rekordbox with our controllers. I have ddj flx 10 but when I’m not connected to my controller all of the premium stuff doesn’t work. I added my controller to my account as registered so not sure why it’s not working
The thing that really winds me up is if you come out of a large crate to get say a scratch sample track, then when you back to the track playing your at the top of the crate instead of directly to your previous location like it used too...
I already installed the free version, but in the Trial option shows me that in 30 days it will be blocked... Does anyone know If the free version will still working after that?
Was thinking the same thing. Im currently in an email with pioneer reps right now and that was the last thing I asked them. We'll see what they say in response tomorrow or the next coming days. Extremely frustrating for sure

7 is way more janky than latest 6, very laggy for sure, thankfully you can have multiple version installed on the same machine so i just went back to using 6. The crazy thing is Pioneer claim that 7 is now 50% more optimised that 6 LOL.
Yes, I'm using 32gb ram 7700k on a good motherboard with a 3070 and I keep getting freezes and lockups, although a recent Windows update that was forced on me is eating cpu usage, with programs running that can't be stopped. Could be linked.

@@JozhMcbefore they brought out 7.0.1 my FLX6 would constantly go into safe mode due to "not enough power", yet it was fine for months and months prior too. It's kind of fixed now, and I lost all my FX and pad settings which often don't save if I change them.
That they dropped all support for users with older CPUs was the last straw for me. I will actively avoid AlphaTit for the rest of my life and only use RB to prep for gigs where I can't use my own gear.
I’m a Windows 10 holdout and am definitely not installing Rekordbox 7 again. The library load time in 7 was warning enough, then I found I couldn’t even do my preferred workflow of dragging albums or EPs from explorer into the collection pane for analysis…meh.
I have just got a newer laptop and upgraded to RB7. I have RB6 on the older laptop along with 3 years worth of play histories, which are actually my go to playlists, much of which are streamed from beatport, the others from my collection. Can anyone please tell me how I can transfer the history from my old laptop and RB6, to the new laptop with RB7? I've been tryin for a week to no avail 😢
I don't use Rekordbox, but it seems that Alpha Theta is the new Windows in DJing: they break ot overcomplicate simple tasks, whereas they don't upgrade or fix what they need to. I read a comment asking who decides to implement these changes. Most part if big companies have their own IT department. The leader takes into consideration the needs of the software. The project leader and customer leader usually talk about features. Then a draft is made which indications on how to change the code. Then programmers do the job. DJs should be taken into consideration as they're their target customers, but they don't usually listen to us 😅 Which is your opinion about Serato and Engine new updates?
@@ReallyChrisM I found the new feature of setting three saved views very useful. The SC Live 4 has a small 7'' screen. Waveforms were almost invisible when it was set on showing four waveforms. It was too information to be shown on a small screen. Being able to hide the options I don't need was a improvement. Maybe it isn't a big deal on the Mixtream Pro 😅
Intelligent playlists is interesting, but I would never create playlist for a gig that I won't end up diverging from and that I would play without any modifying. It's interesting and as long as I have regular playlists, I dont mind it.
RB7 is a trash, It does not support Pioneer DDJ RZX, The display screen on the controller is not working and the OSC sampler option is not even in RB7... It only works as MIDI, that's crazy and So annoying

I have the DDJ RX and I heard they were no longer supporting the older devices like your RZX and the RZ etc, meaning even if you paid full price for the perpetual license you still won't get support for the gear you paid for and the only way to get it to work normally as before you have to pay a subscription. This is beyond greedy from Pioneer.....

ANSWER: Make intelligent playlist called COLLECTION and put all in it. Then you can drag individual tracks into playlist you want in same panel.

The cue data is tied to the track not the playlist so nope. I’m interested in how you are using this though?

The premium things are on the paid plans - hardware unlock just lets you use performance mode

If you highlight the "Playlist" folder, you can search your entire library, the same as clicking 'Collection'."
presumably only if the tracks are added to a playlist though? I'll poke around with this later
