Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.
The Official Channel devoted to the brilliance of DI Adrian Monk; the defective San Franciscan detective, whose OCD is both a blessing and a curse. We'll be posting the very best moments from the show so, like Monk, you'll never miss a beat.

My favorite episode. Can’t wait for the reunion special!!
I'm sorry the WHAT?!
@@hazeustthey are making a movie
@@suleika273 Really? That would be awesome
I heard about that, when is that supposed to be again? 2024 wasn't it? I could have googled it I suppose, but we're here now 😅 in Lazy-town LOL, I'll do a quick "fact check" myself 😅🤣
@@msinvincible2000 Sounds horrible. No need to beat a dead horse - let the show rest in peace.
I feel that without the lipstick as DNA, the fact a dozen people witnessed him pulling a gun and disposing of the evidence would be pretty damning evidence. 😂
Yup..That man didn't think things through but most guilty people act on their impulses
He'd be guilty of assault or whatever the charge of pointing a gun, but with a good lawyer if there was no other evidence he can get away with the murder.
He pulled the gun after the lipstick came out though. If she didn't have the lipstick and point out rhat it could be tested, he wouldn't have pulled the gun. He only pulled the gun because he realized they had evidence.
@@MaximaToluene
With the number of charges that could be brought against him for pulling a gun on a Police Captain in a room full of cops, he’d be going away for a long time anyway.
Well, disposing of evidence and threatening a police officer bot not the murder itself.
“Push the picture freezer!” “Picture go back! Push picture go fast!”
The writing on this series is just unbelievably good.
The weird thing is that in Mr. Monk and the Blackout (season 3) Monk was saying, play, fast forward and freeze frame. 😂
@@monkfan72I saw a video on police shows, their viewership is mostly senior citizens, so they have to explain any kind of newfangled technology to them, like when Monk called a webcam a "robot"
I think it's funny to hear honestly.
@@MNYQaashit, I feel like senior citizen now🤣
He nearly retired after that… until Natalie pointed out that he actually solved TWO cases, instead of one, making it an odd number, instead of an even one…and his OCD couldn’t take it. Plus there still was his wife’s murder to solve.
I love how Stottlemeyer's expression changes at 2:30 when he realizes what Monk is getting at.
I like the chief’s face at 2:27 . Listening intently, catches on, brightens up; he’s forgotten all about his game now, he loves this part! 😁
For him monk ability are way better even if he is jealous at times
Monk: “You took her lipstick, because that’s what Douglas Thurman would have done”
Randy: “…The lipstick assassin”
Stottlemeyer: “Randy!”
Monk was a gem 😭
"The lipstick assassin."
"RANDY-"
Monk: PICTURE GO BACK!!!
Natalie: Picture go back????
Stottlmyer: Picture go back 😊💕
LOL that actress! "Force of habit"
Yeah, it was so cute!
"I'll take that lipstick!"
Exqueeze me? Good luck killing everybody in the room AND covering that up as well Captain Stupid! 😂😂
"I hit a random switch, a good light turned on so i didnt hit another"
"So... either you were very lucky... or perhaps you had been there before. Here is what happened"
*wife shows lipstick*
Agreed, he should've said something like that, but he would still be arrested.
He didn't look as he reached back for the switch and he didn't fumble or have to run his hand along the wall. It takes time to get used to a place so well that you can flip a switch, even randomly, without double-checking where it is on the wall.
I would never make the mistake that guy made....I still haven't memorized which of the light switches in my house does what
drives my mom crazy that I don't know which light switch turns on the ceiling fan or the one that turns on the lights above the mantle
That was dumb of him. He should just come clean with his wife instead of killing the girl and framing the killer.
I labeled all my light switches when I got my house
bro probably was smashing in the living room many a times late night possibly, he had to see hence he needed to check for the switch
0:36 Monk didn’t say “Picture freezer” here, yet will go on to say “Picture [insert movement here]” every other time.
Got to agree with Natalie, you can’t beat the man!😉😊
Also, I absolutely love the scene where they revisit some of the criminals Monk put away, from Howie Mendel cursing out the guard to the trio of bad guys complaining about Monk.😂
Which I find funny because Monk didn’t actually put him away. He wasn’t guilty of the murder he was accused of, just of running a cult. Monk exposed him as a fraud at the end of the episode so maybe that caused his followers to turn on him?
anyone else notice how the killer when defending himself points out randy´s bad singing first and foremost and only then tries to argue?
You need to address the most important thing first. Randy is a terrrrible singer.
Poor Leland missing the triple overtime haha
But as always Monks gives him a better show!
@@hooting-ton5215
Leland after hearing the news that Monk has died : "Randy, I love that man."
(It turns out he's not ded) "I HATE THAT MAN!" haha
I know they were trying to catch a killer but monk trying to tell Natalie to show the tv evidence with his words is so funny 😂😂😂
I remember being bothered by the continuity error in this episode. In a previous episode, Natalie and Julie give Monk 100 trophies for solving 100+ homicide cases.
That’s because Monk likes the number 100 more than any number over 100 that’s not 200. Also, this was taped. It’s likely this case was “solved” before that basketball one.
Those trophies were for solving 100 cases in his whole career. This episode is about solving 100 cases only as a private consultant
@@user-sy3dn5fs3pGood point
Mine would be Monk not knowing pause and rewind lol he did have a video player at home and probably had watched video footage of a crime scene once or twice back when he was still in the force.
@@iganpparamarta8813he probably refered to it pike that as well or just used the remote himself.
Trudy probably corrected him a couple of times until she lovingly gave up and let him call it what he wanted.
Missed a bit and I'm still looking for the picture go backwards button on my laptop.
'You can't prove that"
Pulls lipstick out that he stole
Continues to pull gun out asking for the very lipstick. MY GUY. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH THE LIPSTICK WHEN YOU JUST PULLED A GUN IN FRONT OF LIKE 20 PEOPLE.
It's weird seeing Daniel Peirce as a murderer.
Amazing episode.
I immediately caught on the light switch myself as well before seeing the resolution.
Well to be honest. 5 switches that's like 20% chance. Yes it my be a clue but not a strong evidence.
Poor Stottlemeyer just trying to watch the game.
5:13 Julia is going to go places. Lol.
For those saying that Monk most likely had solved more than 100 cases before this episode, you're most likely right :D But I bet the show did this "special" episode saying it was his 100th case because most likely it was the 100th episode of the show, so they said it was his 100th case because they wanted to celebrate the 100 episodes of the show :D
That’s true but I also think I was supposed to be his 100th case as a private consultant.
The stupidest criminal in the series ever: committing a crime while being near Monk.
And in front of witnesses really 😂😂😂
Lol, Stottlmyer just wanted to watch the Basketball game:)"Oh come on" Captain, turn it back to the show, I will, it's a commercial break" he flips back to the basketball game:) Then he misses the triple overtime, "Oh come on"
What was the plan once he had the lipstick? Go on the run? Shoot every single person present? Neither of those things would require having the lipstick.
He was trying to get rid of the proof, however there's still a bunch of witnesses.
If he can destroy the evidence, they're back to claims and circumstance. With a really good lawyer, he might even get pulling the gun argued as a much lower charge (or even self defense). Better than being linked by evidence to a premeditated murder.
@@MichaelJohnson-kq7qg Nope.
Actual jury instructions read: "If one side destroys evidence, you are free to assume it was evidence against their case."
This is as good or better than any test.
@@christopherg2347yeah if the prosecution has twenty witnesses that say that he destroyed evidence after it was made known that it would convict him, there's no way the jury doesn't assume that it would have.
That said, he's also about to get caught for 1st degree murder and tampering with an investigation so presumably he just panicked.
Mrs. Teager is such a sweet heart.
I dont believe this, I've been in my apartment for over a year and have 3 switches next to each other and I still don't know which does what without flicking at least 2
Anyone notice Captain left hook but felt it in his right hand⁷ 😂
Picture freezer and picture go regular...😂😂only Monk
Incorrect, he solved his 101st case!
Was looking for this comment, you are right sir.
@@dreyfrano968 thank you
@@TheJcjonesacp I remembered too because he wanted to quit since 100 is a nice round number, but Natalie pointed it out that it was actually 101.
@@dreyfrano968 yeah but then he went down the rabbit hole of more cases as the episode ended such a good scene showing his obsession with being a detective
Misleading title. Technically this was Monk's 101 case. The party they were at was for a screening of a documentry celebrating Monk's 100th solved case but it ended up leading to Adrian's 101 case.
My fave episode!
Picture freezer button 😂😂😂
The first time I watched this, I spent about a week saying picture freeze
Please post a full episode.
It puts the 100th episode on its skin.
1:19 better to count them (18)
1:31 there is 19 of them
Best solve he ever did
2:10 it is.
I wonder how many takes they did to master that
With a film coming out in December, I wonder if the writers will address the use of technology with Monk. Seems like Monk is very stagnant and would not own a iPhone or android. He did know a little bit out computers/laptops as Julie taught him. That aspect will be interesting.
“Picture Freezerrr” “ waht”
This best episode on the show 1 thing bother me is the Captain took a left hook on Novak but next shot he's shaking his right hand lije it hurts🤣😅😂
He grabbed for the gun as it went off with his right hand
VHS those were the days
At 0:50, you clearly see the camera man follows the captain into the apartment. But at 3:50, the reconstruction shows the guy entering right behind the captain instead. Oops.
he was the show host they had multiple camera men recording the show
Odd, in an earlier ep Monk called it Freeze Frame
2:28 😮😮😮😮😮 you screwed up
part of me feels like the lipstick wouldn't have been enough to convict him.
First Monk says rewind, then says picture go back
Case 101 actuely
I don't this is technically his 100th Case. He had to work on cases before the first episode. And I'm sure he solved cases in-between episodes.
What was the escape plan, take out a house full of trained cops and Randy and run away
He probably would have taken a hostage and slowly backed out the door.
Lmao trained cops...And Randy 😂😂 thanks for that
Definitely better than Scooby Doo
Here’s what happened you got selfish and tried to outsmart cops but he’s not the one who can easily be outsmarted
"PICTURE FREEZER"
Actually Kate Kindal’s murder was his 101st case. Douglas Thurman was his 100th. Watch your own episode.
maaaan, Will really fell from Grace, didn't he?
Technically, this was his 101st crime solved.
101st case
Y’know, when I watched “Unsolved Mysteries” or “Dateline”, I always thought that the only way the reporters give a good review of the murder if they committed it themselves
what would pulling a gun accomplish? he steals the evidence linking him to a murder so he can be guilty of pulling a gun on a room full of cops and threatening them to give him potential evidence of another crime?
Technically, a video are Pictures
Nts 2:15
Technically this was his 101th case.
0:35 Is'nt she fast forwarding it, not rewinding it
😊😉
Will Truman. OOPS *********SPOILER*********** Will TRUMAN!
I know how the captain must have felt when he had to stop watching the game. My husband had been gone all day and I was watching a Phillies game. It was the bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, and the he Phillies were behind by 4 runs. Schmidt had a full count and just as the pay off pitch was thrown, my husband came home and immediately started channel surfing!
He couldn't understand why I was so upset! He said I could hear the result on another channel. I'd watched that game from the first pitch! You tell me, sports fans. Did I have a right to be angry?
Not if he was solving a case. Than it’s fine
Yes you did.

i hate that they made monk an idiot in later seasons.
he solves cases because he knows how people think and act even if he cannot emulate them
the idea his doesn't know the words for pause/rewind is laughable
he knows how to call an answering machine from a gameshow phone and play the voice messages back, he is not tech challenged.
Also, he had no issues with VCR when Sharona was in the show.
Sharona managed his awkwardness while they made Natalie manage his stupidity that had not existed in the early seasons.
Why doesn’t Stottlemeyer ever believe Monk? After 100 solutions and convictions?
Because Monk had been wrong before, and he’s not infallible. It doesn’t matter how good a detective he is, he should always have to provide evidence before people believe him.
309 5 Ave s is one of my types for work got to be skooled to be at a intercome fp is hired to murder me dead
It's weird that natalie was making fun of monk, here
Imagine Monk walking on the streets of San Francisco now with the homelessness and poop covered streets 🤣
