  • The path of spiritual awakening can begin without warning. When it does start, get ready for one of the most amazing spiritual journeys you could imagine. There's nothing you can do to really prepare for the spiritual growth you'll experience because the spiritual path isn't a path.
This is the beginning of my story of why I left Christianity. The religious deconstruction I've gone through and the stages of spiritual awakening I've experienced. I can say that I left church, but I didn't leave God.

I spent 12 years in religious schools. I started researching other religions and was left feeling discrimination as the underlying message of each one I sampled. I began meditation . Today I feel I communicate with God through my meditation. I no longer need religion.

When I began seeking truth they dreams came flowing. I have felt the love that wraps us up setting us free to be at peace not know this place existed. I have seen the light that is love after my vanity was tested. The light is not hot and does not burn. The light is love. I have seen who we become in this light who remain Wawa born to Mama returning to Wawa. None of the gods or goddesses are true. Seek truth without a name or face ... "You Must be Born Again." Jesus Christ (Jn. 3:3)
No matter how you look at it, if you don't have the Born Again experience (that Jesus Christ spoke of) you will not have what you need to actually know that the Christian faith is real. That's why John said that we who believe have the witness in ourselves. We have the Spirit of Christ Living in us testifying to us that the Christian faith is real. When you've had that life transforming experience, and when you have that day-to-day walk with God having been baptized for Real by the Holy Ghost, you know that the Christian faith (and the Word of God) is real and no one can take that away from you with any false research, false facts, nor anything else. So you know that Jesus Christ gave His life for us and rose again, and He's coming back again just as much as you know that the air you breathe is real, just as much as you know that you are a real individual, and even more so because without God there is no us humans nor anything else. And actually because the Word of God says that in the last days that there shall come a great falling away and many shall depart from the faith of Jesus Christ, when you leave the faith of Jesus Christ, all you do is continue to prove the faith of Jesus Christ to be true and the Word of God to be accurate.
Repent and believe the Gospel! Jesus Christ shall soon return. God loves us all. Amen.

I ended up leaving Christianity because the Bible was full of contradictions as well as false historical events. It's one of the main reasons there are multiple interpretations for the faith, because each author of the Bible kept trying to insert their own doctrines for what Christianity would become. The final result is that the book is inconsistent, yet still asserted as holy and perfect. I couldn't ignore the flaws I saw and eventually was able to let it go. Not to mention it's one religion of thousands, and several other religions have their own versions of hell too. Seems more like a scare tactic to keep believers in line, the way I see it.

Bible stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. What was intended to be a simple instructions manual on how to live life ( thou shall not lie, steal, kill, envy, honor thy mother and father, keep the Sabbath day and keep God first), has somehow turned into a multi Billion dollar industry. In closing, I would like to say that Jesus says in Matthew 5:17 "I did not come here to abolish God's laws ( thou shall not lie, steal kill etc.) He goes onto say "I came here to full fill God's laws. And then, In Matthew 19:17 Jesus says, "why do you call me good, no one is good but God Alone"( also written in Luke 18:19; Mark 10:27). He goes onto say "If you want to enter God's kingdom, keep the Commandments" ( Matthew 19:17--19) He goes onto to say "Anyone who teaches otherwise shall be condemned in the kingdom". And none of the Multi Million dollar preachers ever bother to mention these "key" scriptures. Meanwhile the prisons are filled with people who have been misled.🤕☹️😞

@@mrhood8076 The main issues I have with it come from the fact that the Bible is taken literally, despite the fact that it definitely shouldn't be. The New Testament was written by anonymous authors who are considered to be Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John; but there's no real evidence to support that. There's also the fact that the events of Jesus's death were recorded decades after the supposed events took place and was passed down orally until then. If the game of telephone has taught us anything, it's that a message can easily become muddled that way. Then when considering that this is one religion of thousands making bold unprovable claims; I don't see why anyone would take these very mythological events so literally. Talking snakes, talking donkeys, the world being set on pillars, an alleged world wide flood that historically never happened, etc. I think it's finally time that this fear mongering religion is finally retired imo.

Firstly there's nothing religious about the Bible. The Bible is a historical book, and a prophetic book, From a KINGDOM CONCEPT NOT RELIGION. Christianity today may be classified as a religion. But we Christians who know that God dwells within us believe that Christianity is a relationship with the Creator. In fact Christianity is Spirituality. Not all Christians are religious.
Even Jesus Christ was not Religious, he actually spoke against religious leaders and their hypocrisy.
When I was a religious Christian I also felt empty like you and miserable, and didn't know why I was here in the first place, but not until I sought to have my own personal Relationship with God, did he fill that void in my life, and everything made sense from there, and of course the Word of God is the foundation of our Relationship with God. There is no relationship with God outside of his Word.

So God can Transform anyone despite religious creeds. Theology is head knowledge and God is greater than theology. Man tries to pin God down and put Him in a box but it backfires on them. God cannot be controlled!! The Bible and The Quran has great Wisdom and Insights if understood properly but I do not believe them to be the actual word of God because God is Perfect and God doesn't contradict Himself. @Melody Smith it's like I tell people, I tell people to stop relying on another man's experience of God and a pastor or a prophet or a guru etc and to get their own Word from God and get their own Personal Direct Experience from God. God can speak to us personally without any intermediaries. God can also speak thru others sometimes too and quite often like if we are struggling with something, God may send encouragement in the form of a stranger or loved one. The Signs are all around us if we would only pay attention. God also speaks to our Soul and Intuition. Our Intuition is never wrong.

@@MillionaireSocietyCo Why does God allow suffering? Because when sin entered the world through Adam and Eve's transgression against God in the Garden of Eden, it brought dire consequences. Not only did they die spiritually right away, but eventually they died physically. Everything dies, animals, plants, etc... Sin brought in rebellion, hatred, evil, and sadness. The Lord in His love for us sent His Son Jesus Christ to save the world from their sins. Jesus willingly laid His life down for us by dying on that cross and shedding His blood for us.
"It is finished" He cried out. The debt for sin, the breaking of God's moral law (the 10 commandments) had been paid in full. Now, all we must do is repent (turn around, have a change of mind and heart toward sin and self) then totally trust Jesus to save you. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

I stopped going to church when I saw preachers getting arrested for hurting kids, and other people. I did research on everything they've done from the dark ages to the present to the Columbus invasions of America against the Native people to the 1940's that led to the German war. Every detail of these events have kept me wondering should I be a part of something that seem so dark today. They are still doing very terrible things today, and getting away with it. Everything keeps showing up on the news all the time. I don't want to listen to people that are doing ugly things, but don't get caught. I don't blame you. I wanted something peaceful in my life. I love the lack of protest and crusade in the way you’re doing this next journey. I too left religion and someone asked me recently about how that started? I grew up as a pastors kid who gave my 20s to writing and recording worship music that ended up receiving awards and what not.. but for me like you it started with not believing the demon thing when everyone else did. I’m a workplace culture coach who coaches so many world-views and I started seeing good in all of them. Man I am so happy I found this video. This really rang true. My heart embraced Jesus when I listened to the testimony of my Sunday School teacher, a local electrician. In simplicity I asked Jesus into heart. When we come to God as a little child we can see with spiritual eyes that the Holy Spirit gives us, is not intellectual. @justinsummers1757 This is a little long, but please take two or three minutes to read it.
“Therefore, hear the parable of the sower: When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises BECAUSE OF THE WORD, immediately he stumbles. Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. By the way, the Bible says in 1st John 2:19, "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us." According to this scripture you were never really saved. You may have gone to church, and handed out tracks, and worn a cross, but you weren't really saved. This is NOT my opinion but God's word.
If you were talking about some other youtuber's opinion, then you could say, "Well, I think..." But We are talking about the ETERNAL, ALL-POWERFUL, CREATOR of the universe. Who says, "Can the gods of the other nations (religions) tell you the future? No! They are mere lifeless idols." But I..." and then He proceeds to give us over one thousand prophecies in the Bible to demonstrate that God's word can be trusted.
The Bible in the Old Testament predicted the Messiah would come from the tribe of Judah; Jesus was. The Bible predicted the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem; Jesus was. The Bible predicted the Messiah would be called a Nazarene; Jesus grew up in Nazareth. The Bible said the Messiah would be rejected by His own people; most Jews rejected Christ. The Bible said the Messiah would have his hands and feet pierced; it happened to Christ on the cross. (Do you think Jesus or his followers made this happen to fulfill prophecy, NO Rome decided how He would die) The Bible said the Messiah would be given vinegar; Jesus was given vinegar when He was hanging on the cross. The Bible said the Messiah would be buried in a rich man's tomb; Jesus was buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, who was very rich. The Bible said the Messiah would die a criminal's death; Jesus was crucified between two criminals. The Bible said The Messiah would NOT have any broken bones; it was customary for crucified individuals to have their bones broken to hasten death, but when they came to Jesus, He was already dead. The Bible said the Messiah would be despised; the mobs spit on Jesus and mocked Him on the cross. The Bible said the Messiah would be a light unto the Gentiles (non-Jews) the Jews, by and large do NOT believe in Jesus, it is Gentiles (non-Jews) around the world who worship the Jewish Messiah, Jesus. The Bible says Jerusalem "...kills the prophets." While Jesus was much more than just a prophet, He was killed in Jerusalem. The Bible said the Messiah would be from the lineage of King David; Jesus was. The Bible said the Messiah would be called from Egypt; the parents of the infant Jesus, took Him to Egypt, until they were told they could bring Him back; the King who wanted to kill Him had himself died. The Bible said the Messiah would have people gamble for His clothes; the soldiers at the crucifixion gambled for Jesus' cloak. The Bible said the Messiah would bring in a new covenant; Jesus did. His death on the cross, once for all did away with the need for the slaughtering of lambs at the Jewish temple. The Bible said the Messiah would come 483 years AFTER the decree to re-build the temple; Jesus made His triumphant entry into Jerusalem on the very day as predicted. The Bible said the Messiah would suffer; Jesus was beaten, had his beard ripped out of His face, and was brutally nailed to the cross. The Bible said the Messiah would be a prophet; Jesus predicted the destruction of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. The Bible said the Messiah would come riding on a donkey; Jesus did. The Bible said the Messiah would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver; Judas Iscariot was given 30 pieces of silver for betraying Jesus. The Bible said the Messiah would be a willing sacrifice; Jesus willingly went to the cross, and even predicted His death in Jerusalem. The Bible said the Messiah would be proceeded by a messenger; Jesus was heralded by John the Baptist. The Bible said the Messiah would be descended from Abraham; Jesus was a descendant of Abraham. The Bible said the Messiah would be lifted up; Jesus was lifted up on the cross. The Bible said the Messiah would perform signs of healing; Jesus did. There are literally three HUNDRED plus prophecies fulfilled by Jesus.

I was raised Evangelical, so I can appreciate the difficulty of losing one's faith. I lost my faith about 15 years ago, and have developed an appreciation for viewing the world through a materialist (in the philosophical sense, not the capitalist, consumerist sense) lens with a splash of dialectics. Christianity has always been a willing and enthusiastic collaborator with whichever group makes up the ruling class, so I genuinely do not understand how it still has any legitamicy as a moral authority. And don't even get me started on how disgusting Yhvh and it's gross and bizarrely arbitrary rules are. Life is neutral. It's the interpretation that you put on it that creates meaning--be it positive or negative. Naming is a form of interpretation that influences how you experience things. Christianity is an interpretation of the meaning of life based on shame (for "sins") and fear of damnation by some outside entity. Good for you to explore your life. It's so much easier to just waft along so more people just choose to turn off that little nudge inside. You asked yourself some tough, important questions. Eventually, I lost my fundamentalist Protestant faith and became atheist/agnostic for several years. Fortunately, I was led to study the early Church Fathers such as Augustine and Origen who interpreted the Creation story in Genesis as a spiritual allegory. Thanks to them I regained my Christian faith but as a Catholic. Though I am not a strict traditional Catholic but Charismatic and ecumenical with Protestants and Eastern Orthodox Christians. True Christianity is following the Holy Spirit. He is the Spirit of Truth who guides us unto all Truth. I also was raised a Pentecostal preachers kid but came to realize there is more to Christianity than what I was taught in the Assemblies of God. I now just regard myself as a Spirit led Christian who embraces Truth from Catholic, Protestant to Eastern Orthodox traditions.

Good for you! This is a difficult decision to make and it’s hard enough to question our biases and beliefs, much less to lose our social family (church) when we make the decision. Millions of us have walked away and I heard a statistic yesterday that the number of non-religious people in the US is equally to all the different religions combined.
If you really want to be free and completely self honest, put the issue of god on the back burner. Instead, find out who you are at the most fundamental level. Most would say they are a spirit or soul inhabiting a body. Okay, this might be you too. Where is your spirit/soul. Can you locate a spirit anywhere? When you finally experience the collapse of beliefs what is left is what is.
Like you said, we all have our own journey. My advice is don’t hold too tight to the belief in god. I always try to remember that I was fooled before and am still susceptible to bad information. But also recognize that deconstruction takes time. Shit gets real when you start asking existential questions! Make sure you got people who can help you. Dark night of the soul is no joke for many!

I spent about 3 decades as a believer. Out of those 3 decades i had about 15 years reading the bible cover to cover. Life was happening and i was moving from city to city working but i stayed in the bible. Me living in the Deep South during the rise of Donald Trump, life called me to look at Christianity from an historical aspect. I started to learn that the historicity aspect that i was taught about Christianity was adding up. I didnt think much about it because i had my faith but later on my desire to believe was replaced with a desire to know.. So my faith did not matter. I needed facts. Faith is for believing but facts are for knowing. I also wanted to start a family and did not want to pass on the same generational ignorance to another generation. As the years went by, i began to pull back the vail on Christianity and realized how much of it is mythology. It took me years to realize that snakes dont talk and no woman was ever created from a rib of a man. I started to realize how dangerous it is to give man's mythology authority over nature and natural law. I also realized the danger in subscribing to deities that rely on the words of man. It was a very difficult and frustrating journey to leave Christianity but the freedom after the journey has been priceless. The level or responsibility, obligation and thankfulness has went through the roof.

God wants us to read and study His Word for OURSELVES so that we will "Know" if a preacher or teacher is really speaking the Truth. Also, the term, "Christianity" is just a man-made word that really means NOTHING, but I know that it does have negative tones because of false teaching. And that is more the reason to study and read for YOURSELF, and God will honor that and meet you where you are.

@@rosk3445 That is great to hear. Another thing that we do not realize when we start reading God's Word is that we do not start out with "understanding".
Jesus taught in the Parable of the "Sower Sows the Word" that when we hear or READ the Word of the Kingdom, it is coming to us in "seed" form, NOT "Harvest" form, and we are sowing the "seed" of God's Word in our hearts.
And Just like when you plant a seed in the ground, there is nothing there yet, because there is no "manifestation" or "revelation" at Seed Time.
The "revelation" and "Understanding" comes at HARVEST Time, when the "seed" of God's Word reaches the Good Ground of our hearts and grows to Full Maturity.
And a HARVEST, we receive "understanding" and "revelation" from God.
It is a very very slow process just like it is in "nature".
For example, it takes years for apples to manifest on the branches of an apple tree because the trunk and branches of the tree must grow to be strong enough to bear the "weight" of the harvest of apples it produces.
It is the same "spiritually" speaking,` we must be "prepared" and strong enough to hear God's Voice at Harvest Time.
Remember what happened when God came down on Mt. Sinai to talk to the people? The people were so terrified and gripped with fear, that they ran for their lives and begged Moses to tell God to stop talking to them.
The reason was, they were not "prepared", because there was no "growing" season for them because of the "stony heart", (sin), which kept the "seed" of God's Word from taking root and growing.
The explanation or interpretation that Jesus gives of the Parable of the "Sower Sows the Word" is a great portion of scripture to study because Jesus tells us EXACTLY what is "hindering" the Harvest from producing the REALITY of God or "Revelation".
Take Care Brother and know that Jesus is with you and will guide you even when you don't even know it.

We all start out having NO UNDERSTANDING because that is the "default" of being born into a "fallen" world. But Jesus said that if we "seek" then we shall "find".
Jesus also said that one reason we do not have understanding in the beginning is because His Word's did not get planted in our "hearts" because the devil stole His Word's from us.
"When any one hears the Word of the Kingdom, and UNDERSTANDS IT NOT, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart.
This is he which received seed by the way side. " (Matthew 13:19)
Jesus said that the Word of God is a "seed" (Luke 8:11).
And just like when you plant seeds in the ground, there is NO MANIFESTATION or "understanding" a seed time.
"Understanding" comes at Harvest Time after the seed is planted in GOOD GROUND and grows to full maturity, and this is a very slow process.
"But that on the GOOD GROUND are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, KEEP IT, and bring forth fruit WITH PATIENCE." (Luke 8:15)

See in the beginning I was sold out on the unconditional love and safety in the Saviour. Although having good intentions, when churches preach law it becomes a whole legalistic religious organization that robs us of our true identity and freedom that we are supposed to have.
What I found is that religion says "Fix yourself and God/we will accept you" while the original Gospel says "Come just as you are and I will give you righteousness/(okayness) as a gift". Religion says "You have to work hard to stay forgiven and right" while the true Gospel says "With a single sacrifice I have made you perfectly accepted and irreversibly forgiven for ever". Religion says "You have to work to get close to God" the Gospel says "You cant get closer to your Father as He is in you and you are in Him". Religion says "God is in love with a future version of you" while the Gospel of Grace says "Dad loves you as you are right now unconditionally and is NEVER GOING TO CHANGE in this irreversibly restored relationship". Religion says "You are not good enough" and the true Gospel of Grace says "You are fully accepted, with a new heart which is righteous, holy and blameless. That's your identity, now live from your heart and be yourself". Religion is a bunch of rules to follow as a prerequisite to acceptance versus the Gospel of Grace providing immediate irreversible acceptance which will produce the "works"/performance over time, but our performance is SECONDARY to the "Work Christ did". This reveals a bit of what I found please see this link for more: ua-cam.com/video/RHxbZEwbhHg/v-deo.html
This is 8 years later, in the mean-time I started a small bible study group where everyone is on the same level and unconditionally accepted, where their opinion is valid and important.
    God's love.

Wish you well on your new path. Your analogies are great. Your mind and thinking will now be able to look at things from more angles than before which Is a beautiful thing. I have an analogy that I use, the animal world shows much compassion and love to their young and to other species at times, and I tell people that none of these animals has read the bible. We need a humanity that is inclusive of all, and religion does not allow that.
I love talking about this topic and I wish the rest of the world could see the light that you have.

I left Christianity as well. I tried better to find and understand this god that was hidden and silent to me.
I thought I was not good enough. I never had that "Holy Spirit" fuzzy warm feeling most christians claim they have.
I was told I was not good enough or did not trying hard enough so I thought I should research what I needed to do.
After all in different churches I attended I was told different things about this god.
So many different conflicting claims about this one god, what was going wrong?
Did he love or hate same sex couples, well that depends where you went and who you spoke to.
It was like everyone's own god was just like them. If they hated 'gay' people then so did their god and so on.
I concluded that clearly people didn't know from street preachers to mega churches, from unknown ministers to famous TV jet owning rich preachers. Each was so different.
I researched myself and from source material and the more I found out the more I realised that there was just no god, people made up these stories and I could not find any 'good' evidence for the claims being made about the supernatural world.
The more I actually researched to more I realised that I was just indoctrination as a young child like most people are.
Indoctrinated like Muslims/Hindus/Christians before the age of critical thinking.
Then we use our bias to find anything that fits this god.
We employ cognitive dissonance to separate and discard anything that does not fit this god model.
We actively find the arrows in the side of the barn door and paint the targets round those arrows.
Currently I am simply unconvinced and therefore, I am unable to believe as you have to be convinced first.
I am open to any ideas but none have ever been presented to back up the 'claim' that a god exists.
I am not saying there are no gods but I am yet to be convinced that the supernatural world exists.
We live in a natural world and I would not expect anything after this life, as sad as that is I am OK with it.
Maybe that is why I could break my childhood programming and become a free thinking and acting person.

Gray, thanks for sharing. You bring up some great point that I’ll be talking about in an upcoming video. I don’t have “proof” to convince you that God exist if that’s what you’re looking for. But I do see, in nature a principal that points to something transcendent. 💪🏾

@@DanielTAllen Hi Daniel, Sorry I am a little confused. I thought you were done with Christianity as in your title.
I am not looking for proof of a god. I am unconvinced by the claims of the people suggesting a supernatural deity.
If you are done with Christianity then surely you are an atheist? A non believer?
I could not listen to this while at work today so thought you had also given it up for the man made religion that it is?
I was trying to be supportive as someone who also was a Christian and now has seen through it and given it up.
Really confused - thanks for replying.

If you tell someone that spitting on the church altar is a sign of respect, and they do it- they did nothing wrong. It's the intention that matters, every time. All that matters is what a person is intending to do. Christian, not Christian, Muslim, or atheist. All that matters is love. The heart is all that matters. Honesty is the root of love-lies are the root of evil. Great video.

Hi Daniel, I see the whole religion/gods thing as an Emperor's New Clothes situation. There are those who question it, and see there's no substance behind it all, and there are those who are so enamored of the concept that they will cling to their beliefs (of eternal existence, because that's what it's really all about) in some form, no matter what.

You speak very eloquently. "The answers we are looking for are within us",... yes. Even Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is within you. It is here already. Church doctrine is not Jesus' teaching. Hell is a construct of church doctrine also. Original language does not support the concept that churches teach about some place of eternal burning torment of the soul. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

That's not true Stephanie. The bible explicitly teaches eternal, conscience torture for the sin (the only sin) of not believing in jesus.
If the blame is "original language", then god did a poor job ensuring that people he loves understands his message.

Brother. Thank you for sharing this. You obviously are coming from a place of questioning your past convictions and assessing the future in relation to said convictions. If we are honest those of us raised in the Church have done that/still do that to a certain extent. Be very careful with this though. The evil one is a liar and sows seeds of doubt amongst the faithful to throw us off track and to take our eyes off of our Creator. If your current church or role in your church does not jive with biblical teaching then it is time to move to a church which aligns itself with biblical teaching.
