The cad nerds were awesome. It takes a team of very talented individuals to make a company like Retropower work.
When I win the lottery I'll commission a fleet of Retropwer cars.

The astounding perfection seen in these cars and the great honesty with which even stupid little oversights like the missing ground for the alternator are reported are both amazing and make these videos so great to watch. I truly love the depth and details we get shown. Cheers from Germany- Jo

Not having had the possibility to zinc spray my hobby builds, I've used a cavity wax to treat all areas where nuts, bolts, clips and other hardware could possibly break the paint. I squirt just before tightening the bolt or fitting the hardware and another one after.
As always admiring your team's craftsmanship and learning from every episode.

Watched a video on the red Opel GT resto mod you did . Fantastic restoration work .Shame it didn't have a LS6 motor although the Vauxhall motor is a great upgrade .
Owned a few Opel GT,s and they are a very pretty car .Also owned a Stienmetz A series Manta with the fabulous looking IMSA box arches and the straight 6 Monza engine which was the same as the 4 cylinder engine with a extra 2 cylinders .

Re Interceptor. The rear diff cage on a Jaguar moves quite a lot as the suspension moves up and down. Does the diff as fitted move enough to compensate? I would suggest as what Lister did to the V12 XJS with the radius arms. Have longer ones and fit the front end in towards the middle in line with the lower arm pivot bolts. (lynx did that with the D Type with solid mounted diff)

I would love to have an autofocus on your rust prevention treatment. I genuinely love the deeper looks into zinc spraying in these episodes, but it would be nice to have it all out into an autofocus with your processes and reasonings/examples. The small asides of doing door sills, window frames, was an eye opening use for the spraying. I am looking to go through my own Classic and farm equipment when I am in the off season and would love to have the autofocus episode to look back on and reference.
Also, I see you have a water style filtration, any reason or explanation on the advantage of it? Maybe a walkthrough of how it works?
I would still love any advice on how to put a Classic on a rotisserie. My body isn’t what it used to be (both the Classic and me) so I would like to do repairs and zinc spraying at a reasonable working height.
As always, thank you so much for sharing your amazing craftsmanship and breadth of knowledge!

The single shear rear damper top mounts are not going to be anywhere near the static load limit, but they absolutely will be a low cycle fatigue limit! The mass (or corner weight) is pretty irrelevant because damper loads during extreme bump (say hitting pot hole or kerb) can easily be 10 times the corner load. At that point, the 1/2" bolt absolutely will elastically deform, and that for a single shear bolt, will put a bending load into that bolt. Worst case is that the threaded shank (min dia) experiences the bending stress, and this will be a sharp corner (as the thread form cuts into the base dia) so a huge stress concentration will be formed here. So this is absolutely where the static calcs are pointless and doing a dynamics / bending load analysis should be done instead! Of course, the best option is doing exactly what you are doing, which is to redesign the top attachment into a double shear arrangement where all you need to do is to ensure the tightening torque and hence clamp load is sufficient to avoid dynamic slip in the joint 🙂

Having widened a car by 10mm down the middle I would not say it's easier as making glass that does not have any optical issues is harder than bodywork. I have done roof chops too and would say it's easy to stuff up as you have a car that appears disproportionate, hence sectioning of the body.

It's a shame you made the Interceptor's radius links' totally wrong, because they are beautifully fabricated and installed.
As I've told you before, you NEED to have the forward links' ends in line with the axis of the inner wishbone's mountings - you've even got those nice, solid box structures to tie into!
As it is, to minimise binding from the conflicting arcs you're going to need to have so much compliance, it's barely worth having them at all.

Most sema builds are an absolute joke.
Whole episodes on UA-cam channels are based on how crap those builds are.
Why associate yourself with a non domestic market and spend the money shipping a car that will almost certainly be damaged by dock monkeys.
