- Tim May takes us down memory lane of the early LA session days during the Larry Carlton, Tommy Tedesco, Jay Graydon, Mitch Holder Era. Also, discusses Paul Rivera Sr mods he used on all sorts of hits, tv, film etc.
The Stage 4 in the video is a recreation of the modded amps Pau Rivera was famous for and used on the biggest hits of the late 70s through early 90s.

Love these.. keep it up.
What a treat hearing how things worked in the day.
I need a Rivera amp to go with the Red Rhodes modded LP ; )
Received my Rivera Stage IV last week! Fantastic amplifier. Anyone want to buy my other amps? LOL! Bogxxx, Morxxx, Matchxxxx? haha. All good. The Stage IV is truly a special amp that is highly capable of whatever one may want in terms of feel, tone, character, flexibility etc... Thank you Rivera Family and Crew!
My intent is not to cast a neg vibe on other amp designers/manufacturer's, [they] are great! I just "feel" and "hear" a sonic experience with the Stage IV that resonates and connects with me, giving my 52 year old ears and heart something I take pleasure in.
BTW, Rivera folks, what casters do you recommend for for the Stage IV? Home Depot / Lowes / Ace / online(Amazon) / direct from Rivera? 60 LBS can seem a little on the grunt, lift, move side of things. So around the garage "studio" wheels may be an easier option.
Cool! How long was your total wait? Going on 8 weeks now for mine, I'm Jonesing!
@@cpfs936 Ordered it on 02/21 and Sweetwater shipped it 04/09.
@@jimmyray_hawkins Sounds like mine's about due then! Enjoy!
"Goodfella Rated for 7 bodies" had me dying!!!! Was that a little rubbing-off of Lukather's twisted sense of humor?
