Ok as soon as someone comes in my room to give me my yarn that is across the room I will try it. It looks just beautiful! I'm going to really try it give it my best. Fingers crossed! If you hear H-E-L-P, it's me.hug and wishes for lots of yarn
Rather than using the anchored double crochet, when I come to a single crochet that is approximately in the center of a long series of double crochets on the row below, I extend that single crochet through the current stitch's back loop and continue down into the top loop of a stitch two rows below (same color). I make that particular sc a little looser to make up for extending it down. It works like a charm and looks nice on front and back. And no big flaps of dc on the back sticking out. If the double crochet series below is particularly long, more than one sc can be done like this spaced over the stitches.
To be clearer, this is how I do it: Insert the hook into the back loop of the current stitch as you get ready to make the sc, and then keep going down the back of the work with your hook to catch the top loop of the stitch 2 rows below (again, on the back of the work), then yo and complete the sc as usual, just a little bit looser. I don't use it for every stitch, just use it to tack every 3rd or 4th stitch, depending on how many dc's there are in a row.
You are amazing! I had to purchase the chart/pattern; because I cannot start another project right now. I have the yarn to do it, I will put it together in a project bag and start it later. You are amazing! I love it. Wow!
I love crocheting hearts! These are so very pretty! I will have to at least make a pillow top with this pattern. You are so creative. Thank you for sharing that creativity with us!
Love this Please for my 3rd pattern " I think lol not sure how many I won: This is pretty for my daughter. Your making your book- big book. I know also have a teaching part added that way it will be a bigger money for a hobby :) Your great thank you for sharing.
Time stamp 1:19:46 so the purpose of working a modified DC is the color not being worked gets tacked down right? Because otherwise it would be just floating around in the back of your work until used. Lol, you know I'll have to come back to this part at least once more for brain clarification 😂 Very pretty Design Courtney! Thank you once again 💞
@@FiberFoxStudios correct 🙂 I heard you say how you were working the DC, just needed to watch and figure out why. Thanks for posting this because I always wanted to use different colours.... just didn't know how I was going to get it done ✅
The normal complaint is my videos are too long and I go over too much "beginner" stuff, don't need to show things over and over etc. There are videos geared more toward those who have never done this type of crochet if you want to check those out, begginner friendky is in the titles. Otherwise if you have specific questions on where you are getting stuck I'm happy to answer them. 😊
HI! You can use any yarn you want, hook size will depend on the yarn you chose. Your yardage for each color depends on your project but Mosaic Crochet is not a huge yarn eater. You will need approximately the same amount of each color so using a blanket as an example, you can look at standard yardage guidelines online for blankets and you would split the yardage between your colors. So for a Throw, 2400 yards in Dk weight, you'd need 1200 of color A and 1200 of color B. 3 5mm or 4mm hook. If you need exact amount let's say you are ordering yarn, then you would work a swatch in the size yarn and hook you want to use, measure it and decide how many repeats wide and tall you are going to make the project, then measure the yarn from your swatch and you can get a closer figure. Here is a video from another creator about calculating how much yarn needed for any project: ua-cam.com/video/ZM9oEkDI7Ho/v-deo.html I hope this helps!
I have a few videos in the round, you might find those helpful just to get the general feel and then it's a breeze to work it in the round. Here's the playlist for those videos. ua-cam.com/play/PLU_G451k47sG6ko8GpuOzSGO2cbFAQVFc.html
Hi Cortney… a question pls.. I’m a little confused when I changed the colour B I did as you showed in video in row 6 I brought in another colour B. Then when I do the next row do I start the video from row 7 (it seems obvious as it’s after row 6 😂) then I continue up to row 18 when I bring in another colour B? I’m lost in this part.. sorry 😞
You are understanding correct from your comment, you can change at Row 6, then you work in your new color B from row 6 thru 17 just as im doing in the video, then at Row 18 you can color change again. You continue on through the end of the rows (Row 26) and if you were restarting and continuing you would restart the row repeat over and continue with the last color B you switched to back at Row 18, working up to row 6 again where you could change color again. It's just a color change so you don't skip or omit any of the rows. Hope this helps!
There is a video on my HOW TO playlist that is from another creator that goes over how to calculate the yarn needed for your project. You are going to make a swatch and measure the yarn used for each color. She goes over it really well ua-cam.com/video/ZM9oEkDI7Ho/v-deo.htmlsi=ibQKToK_07jZ4FPh Hope this helps!! 💙💙💙🦊
Wo steckt mein Denkfehler. Thank you sooooo much and happy holidays to you too! The multiple for the pattern is 16+4. So to make it larger, quadruple it in your case, you would multiply, 16 (multiple) x 4 repeats = 64 +4 (the second part of the pattern multiole) = 68, need it bigger then you just increase 16x 5, etc. Add your 4 stitches to the end of you count that you get from doing your math and your row end will match with the row start. Row 3 repeat and all your repeats going forward are made up by 16 stitches so you are missing a stitch in your example that you gave. So row 3 our repeat is 8sc, 1dc, 7sc = 16 stitches. End of all your rows will have 2 stitches left and you just work the first stitch of repeat and then sc in the complete stitch in the very last one. I hope this helps. At Row end we do the recaps so you can check your work and make notes. I hope this helps you!!! 😘😘😘💙🦊
