U SHOULD TRY POLYURETHANE SPRAY.... SPRAY THE CANVAS PANEL 2 COATS LET DRY OVER NIGHT AND PRESS AT 400 FOR 60 SECS ........ME AND MY CUSTOMERS LOVE THE WAY THEY LOOK....JUST A TIP GOOD LUCK..
Regarding the flat panel canvas, definitely trim the laminate after all of your presses. It will stick to the paper you line your press with but it will easily trim away with the laminate.
Cool stuff! You said the pressure needed to be perfect for the canvas boards, but you didn't say what that pressure is. Light, medium or heavy? Thanks for the awesome video!
Cut laminate a little bigger. It shrinks when it's heated. Also I have done 350 degrees for 120 seconds with great results. You could compare and see which has better results. If it's the dance result then less time would be ideal.
Thank you for the video, in order not to get the white around your canvas, the picture needs to bigger then canvas. Have you thought of printing your picture borderless. If the white is on the picture, there will be white on the canvas. I hope this helps
It’s not because of the picture actually. I always add a bleed to the design. Someone pointed out that it’s the laminate. I should be cutting the laminate bigger than the canvas, because when you apply heat it kind of shrinks a bit. So on the flat canvas you can kinda see the image on the borders but laminate is didn’t reach those areas, so you can’t see the picture as vibrant as the rest.
I'm new to sublimation. Love your informative video, thanks! Is it possible to produce matte prints, instead of glossy ones? I would like a little shininess. TY!
It needs to be sublimation ink. Sublimation ink is different from regular ink. Regular ink is not going to infuse into the substrate like sublimation ink will
@@LeslieIrene no make the sublimation picture bigger . Like if u have a 2 by 3 in canvas make the sublimation paper you are going to sub onto it 2.5 by 3.5in .. just an example. Hope this helps. You will have better coverage.
I made the laminate and picture bigger and folded back on canvas, worked pretty well....
That’s great to know. Thanks for sharing.
VERY GOOD PRESENTATION
Thank you
I am new to sublimation this is really awesome. Thank you for sharing!!!!!!
Maybe u could try wrapping/folding the Sublimation paper over edges of Canvas. Thank u for sharing your tutorials/videos. They r very helpful.
Hi Leslie, thank you so very much for your incredible video tutorials! I am going to use your techniques to make prints of my artwork!
I am so glad that you found it helpful. That’s exciting that you will use it to make prints if your artwork.
@@LeslieIrene Your tutorials helped so very much. My prints look amazing after watching this video! I love your channel :)
Aww. That makes me so glad to hear!
I NEVER SEE ANYONE LINT ROLL THE CANVAS, WHICH MAKES SINCE BECAUSE IT'S COTTON.. GREAT VID👍🏿👍🏿
Yes, when I didn’t lint roll it, you could see the lint through the laminate.
Thank you I have been wanting to do this but wasn't sure it would work.
You should definitely try it.

I will try that too. I love the way the laminate looks but I am up for trying another method. Thank you for the recommendation
Have you tried the polycrylic spray also, or just the polyurethane spray? I have the polycrylic on hand:)
@@MakingwithMarilyn paper sticks to polycrylic with polyurethane the paper comes right off
@@miguelcastro6637 Thank you for the reply! I can't wait to try it!
What temp and how much time with a Cricut heat press?
Loved your video what temp would I use I have a cricut heat press
Regarding the flat panel canvas, definitely trim the laminate after all of your presses. It will stick to the paper you line your press with but it will easily trim away with the laminate.
Thank you for the tip.
So do u peel off the laminate sheet after u press it (plastic carrier sheet)? Or leave as is and sub right on top of it?
No. You leave the laminate sheet on there.
You sub right on it.
what about making your image like 8.2 instead of just 8x10? I mean making the image just a smidge bigger than the mat
Cool stuff! You said the pressure needed to be perfect for the canvas boards, but you didn't say what that pressure is. Light, medium or heavy? Thanks for the awesome video!
I always do enough pressure where it is a bit hard to close the heat press but not too hard. So I would say medium pressure
Yes cut the laminate after you press it ☺️

Hi, is there a certain type of laminate sheet brand that works best? Also where do you get your lamination sheets ?
@@jamiesalazar3831 Walmart. I got the Scotch brand pouches. I've seen them at Target as well
Have you tried the heat gloves for use with curling irons?
Yes. The heat gloves that I use say they are for curling wands.

You could get a bit of a less shiny look if you did the polyacrylic spray or liquid on the canvas instead of the laminate sheet.
@@LeslieIrene Thank you Leslie! 😀👍
What kind of print paper are you using?
Sublimation paper. I used texprintr sublimation paper.
love your video
Thank you!
What was temp for laminate and on the canvas and how long on heat press?
I use 385 degrees. You don’t need it to be that high to just adhere the laminate but you do need it to be that high to do the sublimation part.
I do ten seconds to adhere and 60 seconds to sub
Yes!!! I have those same gloves. They do suck!!! Now I have to spend MORE and get a new pair.
Did you fine a pair that are better? I am still on the hunt for some.
What s the temperature for that canvas sublimation
I did 385 for 60 seconds
Is there a certain side you use down?
For the laminate, shiny side goes up.
What were the setting please?
I have a sawgrass printer. My settings are trupix classic, metal, advanced photo and photographic.
Laminate shrinks with heat. Make laminate larger than canvas before heating. Then trim.
Yes, I’ve learned that. I started making it larger. Thank you for the advice. 🙃
Hi can you use sublimation paper with reg ink ..
Or does it need sublimation
It needs to be sublimation ink. Sublimation ink is different from regular ink. Regular ink is not going to infuse into the substrate like sublimation ink will
I see thank you ❤
hi if you leave extra laminate on the side you will see the diferents and you'll see the diferents.
If you leave extra laminate on the sides, you can always trim it off after you press
Size it a little bigger so the color get to the end that’s what I do I had the same problem but u got it girl
Oh are you talking about making the laminate bigger on the flat canvas?
@@LeslieIrene no make the sublimation picture bigger . Like if u have a 2 by 3 in canvas make the sublimation paper you are going to sub onto it 2.5 by 3.5in .. just an example. Hope this helps. You will have better coverage.
Oh yes, I always add bleed. I actually think it’s that the laminate need to be cut bigger as well since it kind of shrinks when you press it.
@@LeslieIrene oh I see yeah id its not the same size it won't stick to the canvas or whatever your subbing you right
what ink are you using?
I have a sawgrass printer so I use sublijet ink.
@@LeslieIrene thank you for replying! appreciate your time
First to like and comment 🥰 thanks for sharing your ideas, I would have been loved to be part of the giveaway but is it well I'm not on Facebook
Yay lol. I can consider waving that since I understand not being on a social media platform.
@@LeslieIrene thank you 🙏 I actually got you on Instagram
Why is my laminate paper sticking to my butcher paper? I’m pressing on 250 using my Cricut heat press.
Is the adhesive side sticking to it? It will stick to butcher paper. You can put a Teflon sheet underneath and it won’t stick to that.
Compare A-Sub to Honestly SpINKing sublimation paper in your next comparison video, please and thank you.
I definitely plan to for sure. Thank you for the suggestion.
