Tried this on painted wood today. Oh my! This is my new favorite craft. It worked beautifully. Now I can sublimate on wood and get all the beautiful colors that I can't get with permanent vinyl. And this is SO much easier. Thank you for the great tip and video.
That's awesome! I'm so glad you ventured out, great job! I love the laminate sheets, it's a great (and versatile) option for sublimation. Thanks so much for stopping by and for sharing your experience! ---Becky
Hey Tiffany! I sure do! It's a bulk purchase, you have to buy at least 2 rolls of each I believe, but here is a direct link for you! Hey Judy! No, I haven't had any issues with the laminate separating from the canvas at all. I have heard it will on ceramic tile, but laminate and wood seem to work perfectly. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Barbara! This process is made using a sublimation printer and sublimation ink, BUT I have a similar process using a regular home inkjet printer and temporary tattoo paper. I'll link it here for you, hope it helps! ---Becky ua-cam.com/video/Xj3B0KHTm74/v-deo.html
What if I want to sublimate straight onto the canvas (material) without the laminate? I’m assuming that it’s possible, no different to sublimating onto general fabric items.
Hey Angela! I usually just give it a press at what my normal temp is for HTV (320 degrees) and then press again for sublimation at the higher temperature. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Awesome, can laminate sheets be used on permanent vinyl? Becky I have a couple of questions. After I print my sublimation sheet, how long can I wait until pressing. I have some that are over a week old. Question 2, what is the shortcut for delete? Love your videos and learn from everyone.
Hey Theresa! I wouldn't use laminate sheets on permanent vinyl, the laminate sheets are thick and hard after pressing. You can actually save your sublimation prints a long time as long as you are using actual sublimation paper. I've had some that have sat for at least a year and they pressed just fine. Also, to delete, you just use the delete button on your keyboard. Hope this helps! ---Becky
OMG - The best idea I've seen for little subby signs - like Theresa said - MIND. BLOWN! So quick and easy
Hey Melinda! I'm so glad you enjoyed the project! I love these little canvas panels! Thanks for stopping by! ---Becky

Becky, will the laminate come off the canvas? I think doing photos would be a great gift. Thank you
Hey Judy! No, I haven't had any issues with the laminate separating from the canvas at all. I have heard it will on ceramic tile, but laminate and wood seem to work perfectly. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Thank you for the information.
Does this have to be done with a special printer and special ink? Or can I print it on my Canon color ink jet printer?
Hey Barbara! This process is made using a sublimation printer and sublimation ink, BUT I have a similar process using a regular home inkjet printer and temporary tattoo paper. I'll link it here for you, hope it helps! ---Becky

have you used the canvas frames ? i want to do that style for my grandkids
When using the frames, you'll want to remove the frame before pressing. 😊

That should be possible, as long as your canvas surface is coated to accept the sublimation ink ✨
What temp do you use to sub the laminate?
Hey Angela! I usually just give it a press at what my normal temp is for HTV (320 degrees) and then press again for sublimation at the higher temperature. Hope this helps! ---Becky
