honestly I still have a rough time with the j.2c whiff. You have to time it at the apex of the curve when you get launched forward. Practice it on Ragna first as he is easier to do it on then move onto Jin to be able to do it consistently
I actually picked up Naoto after watching Jiyuna's guide, and I've won like, 65% of my matches so far applying the stuff he taught LOL. I do want to eventually learn the more advance combos though, I just hope they are doable on keyboard.
Haha what he said is true. If you want to win you don't have to do any of the more advanced stuff. Just have good fundamentals. It's just for me personally style > winning
@@jaycentVT I wouldn't say no to more damage, though LOL. And I have only been playing the game since rollback started, so I feel I can definitely improve my execution. How high up there are the combos on this vid, execution-wise?? I'm sort of looking for intermediate combos for Naoto if those exist.
@@erickp3003 Depends on your reference of difficulty haha. These combos that I show (according to the Naoto community and on dustloop) are more onto the easy/intermediate category. Reason why is because most of this stuff are not optimal, as in not max dmg as possible. Optimal Naoto is very difficult and very hard
Good combo video for more advanced Naoto stuff. I'm trying to learn him and it's really, really hard. I can consistently do things like EnRekka~B into EnDpC or Sway>DC>EnKaid just fine, but doing buttons into Sway into EnRekka is impossible. I also have a lot of trouble with EnSway~Pain, it tends to whiff a lot. As a result after 5D>2D>6D strings I just do normal Rekka and end my combo that way. I did discover the whole "input repeats for three frames after you hold it down" trick yesterday while doing some of Relius's combo trials, which made many of them so much easier I was in shock. Does something similar work for Naoto, or will dash cancels always be three frames? I'll also probably make the combo at 3:31 my main combo in the corner. The one I'm trying to get down is the one you do right after ender and the 665B microdash there is just too hard. The 662C seems better suited for this since I practiced a lot of 662B on Jin when I was learning him. Maybe the skills will transfer over. Thanks again for the video.
Something similar works with naoto as well! So he is a really hard character to play and other than practicing to get the muscle memory down it's really hard to explain in a way to make him easier for Sway EnRekka a sort of trick you can do for that is 214A(sway) - 2366B for EnRekka. It's really finnicky in timing and to be honest even I struggle at inputting it at times but it does help in certain combo routes. for Ensway~Pain honestly I just loved the look of the animation so I just kept practicing to get it down haha as it was my goal to do that combo when I picked up Naoto. So what I do is i input 214A (sway) when the 6D actually hit. Then i Immediately dash into EnSway~Pain. So it looks like 6D - 214A - 663214A - 78A. It's not the cleanest input but thats what works for me
@@jaycentVT if you have a really clean input its also possible to do the buffer trick for enpain routes. You can do 663214[a] 8 and it will also register as enpain
any tips to get the rekka to come out right after i dash cancel? Just got BBCF today and i wanna become good and Naoto so bad :(. sadly this feels impossible rn.
Sure thing! so numpad notation is quite simple. If you look at a numpad you see that theres 3 rowws of numbers with the 1st row being (7 8 9) 2nd row (4 5 6) and 3rd row (1 2 3). These numbers indicate a direction you input. 5 is "neutral" or in the middle as you dont move your fightstick or controller pad towards any direction. 6 is "forward" as it makes your character move towards your opponent and 4 is "backwards" hope that makes sense to you!
Sorry for the late reply! If you're talking about the first combo I put theres actually a "cheat" to make that input easier. So after you do 3C->214A you dash (66) and since DP's input is 623C you can actually buffer it after the dash cancel. So it will look like this 3C->214A->6623C
Am I the only one that goes back to Jiyuna's Blazblue video on Naoto sometimes and just feels...annoyed? Like, he was acting so smug because he beat 3 people online using fundamentals, but the only actually useful piece of advice that he gave in that video was how to crack open people's defense with 6A and that you need to be in the opponent's face 100% of the time. Other than that, the only thing I got from it were bad habits that stunted my growth and a combo that I could've just found in Challenge mode.

Is there a way to cosistantly do enhanced dpC after 3C? Cuz no matter what i do i keep dropping it. Do i need to be faster? Or is my input wrong? Cuz what i would do after 214 is I do 6623C. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't
if you get normal dp that means you inputted 214A too early. if you got 214A but no dp that means you inputted 6623C too late. It all comes down to muscle memory and practice
Playing naoto isn't about winning
Its about styling and having cool combo
Spoken like a true Naoto Main
The funny thing for me Is that while comboing into the enhanced divider Isnt a problem anymore, whiffing the follow up Is still a nightmare

The ability to dash cancel out of 214a opened my eyes, thank you.
Ya know when I first saw this video I couldn't do any of this, but now I'm stunting on my friends. You love to see it

as always the answer is corner throw into 236b rekka 5 times then 623d ender followed by "i'm nice :)"
I agree with Jiyuna with Naoto being easy but like I play Naoto for the cool combos
Great vid, it would be perfect if you slowed down some of the parts to explain them better by showing input shortcuts e.t.c

Can't believe sajam lied to me
What is the difference between mathematical equations and Naoto's combo guide?
Naoto you can do cool combos on the screen vs math you just drew a circle/line on a graph

Step 1. Sacrifice your hands.

how do you even input 214A->6623C fast enough to catch them before the combo drops?
