I'm still not over the Spider-Man PS2 pizza song. It's a song used in a lot of memes and I never knew that's just how it sounds. I found out it was a song from a game after seeing so many memes use it. I always thought people just distorted it for the memes, but it just sounds like that.
@@IPITYTHEFOOLZ It definitely is. Before entering the Dog Pound the game was fairly lighthearted and cheerful. The only moment I can think that was somewhat messed up was Jake being able to get shot by a criminal if you get near him, but even that isn't shown in a graphic or disturbing way.
It's so unnerving to think that dogs were being churned into cat food as this was playing in that location. Literally the scariest score I've ever experienced as a child, even now haha
I don’t think they actually were being churned. The dog catcher said Miss Peaches wants a Clarksville dog to be the first to go into the machine. So Daisy was the first and last.
I like how ever since the Piglet game blew up on Twiiter for having a Silent Hill atmosphere in one level, more random PS2 games that have no kind of business to include such tonal shifts have been resurfacing suddenly.
I tried to play this level twice, both times I HAD to mute the sound, and could never win. I remember holding the controller literally shaking haha and just decided screw this and went back to the farm lmao
You play as a dog throughout the game, having fun, messing with humans, playing and controlling other dogs once in a while, exploring and finding new scents and bones. But then you come here, suddenly you're no longer just playing around, you're in a horror movie. A place where a true monster will grind you up into cat food with her big machine.
I'm not scared of this anymore but oh my god do I understand why this music scared the shit out of me as a kid. Along with the area you were in, since that was already scary enough.

Okay, I got this game when I was 9 and loved it. The Dog Pound levels existence as a whole, pisses me off. The whole entire game looks like its for kids and its doofy. Then you get to the Dog pound and wtf happened... Mrs Peaches gets murdered and you play in a freaky level
Ok, so, small story: Fondly remember playing this game as a kiddo. Generally took me a long time to beat it (as it does with most things when you're a wee one), and I mostly just effed around doing random stuff, trying to figure out the quests and such. Just having a chill time though, from the tranquil countryside and even to the bustling big city. So, I was staying at my grandma's place and sleeping over; she had a PS2 as she took up such a hobby when my granddad passed. She was also rather accustommed to horror games. I played the game the whole day on her TV in the bedroom; just chillin in the city, runnin around. It had turned evening at that point. Little old non-English speaking me did not really pay much attention to the dialogue at all, so besides obvious happenings in cutscenes, I was oblivious to the actual story at hand. So I finally saw this entrance to the Dog Pound being open. Why not, eh? Suffice to say I was not in any way ready for the complete whiplash in mood this game took. The sinister, red, hellish landscape accompanied with this ominous ambience - when I had just been vibing to laid-back rocky tunes, mind you - aswell as the Doberman chasing you around was too much for little me to handle. I now had a hard task at hand, 'cause I knew I had to get help from my grandma (mostly for moral support), she was in the living room. I now, however, had to brave a semi-dark corridor with this playing from the TV, as the lightswitch was on the other side. And this might just be one of my fondest video game-related memories as a child. We're talking a 2 meter-long corridor, but I had to hype and brave myself up for an unbearable amount of time to cross to the safe dimension. Needless to say I did not get great sleep that night. Nor the following ones either. All because the European board clearly didn't play this game through and did a Majora's Mask/Ocarina of Time "Yeah, this is fitting for 3-yr olds".
Fun fact: in America it's (or was) rated Teen (13+) it says on the cover it was rated that way for crude humor. Yeah I don't think so. Entertaining story! I've never considered how confusing it'd be without English. I guess I really do take English being my native tongue for granted 😅 though I can have a vague idea considering I love Aisan media and would be lost without subs lol
Bro the fact UA-cam recommended me this and it's a game I've never heard of before and the soundtrack is creepy makes this feel like encountering a real ghost
Trust me, it’s not that scary if you played it, the sound track is really clam and the graphics are impressive for the PS2, to the point of looking like an original Xbox game
This music alongside the fact that you're being constantly chased down while you're doing everything to free your friends is terrifying. Game rated E for everyone!
I think the fact that this level feels out of place and is totally unexpected makes both the level and the music 100 times more scary. If the game was a survival horror game everyone would be used to the scary stuff and no one would feel surprised when reaching this level, BUT because the rest of this game's levels are either are heart-warming or make you feel comfortable, and not to mention that the game never warns you about the plot twist, it's no wonder this track and the level have a much bigger impact on us. And also it's like the developers took a look at Silent Hill 1 and 2 when developing the game and decided: "Yass, would be a great idea if we make the design of Dog Pound be like a manifestation of the fears from Jake's subconciousness, the kids won't mind, they're desensitized because of the TV" 😅😅😅 Wtf, the Big Machine level even feels like a SH 2 map.
I’m kind of glad I didn’t finish this game while I was a kid. This part would of terrified me. Even when I played this just a few months ago this part still kind of creeped me out. This is a huge juxtaposition from the happy go lucky tone this game has. I could imagine someone making a creepypasta story about this section.
Fun fact not actually related to this soundtrack but that I still want to bring up: The next and final level of the game is a blood covered factory. Let that sink in. :)
I always used to be beyond terrified of playing this level when I was a kid and this music playing in the background really emphasised the fear I had for this level! I always had to spend what felt like forever to work up the courage to even remotely visit this level, let alone complete it! It still gives me the creeps to this day and I'm a fully grown adult!
Man I absolutely love this game, especially for that wonderful surprise when you played this funny little game for hours and then you walk into the Dog Pound and get trauma, and I don't even mean this sarcastic, it's awesome - as long as you aren't a little child, then I'm very sorry for you. ^^' I had the luck to play this game first when I already was a bit older (around teenage yeras I think), but I still was a bit terrified. o_o ...
