    I have the same steps. I built a step using 6x6 post for the frame and covered it with Trex boards. It was heavy enough to not have to attach it to my deck. I then attached the arms to that step.

    I love your pool base and step videos and the way you did your set up! Your backyard is beautiful! Can you share more spaces with us and let us know how you diy them? I'd love to know more about your skimmer, fitler, and solar set up! Also your steps and deck build walk through would be a great video too! I hope to do something similar with my yard in the future.

    What is the best way to protect the pool liner from the ladder sitting on it. Can the ladder damage the pool liner. 👍

    Not bad! Unfortunately I setup my deck so the boards go under the pool lip for a seamless look. I’ve also had success just filling the stairs with water either through some drilled holes or the sand ports.

    I have this same ladder. Do you ever have problems with stuff getting stuck behind it. I have an issue of dirt and algae building up behind it cuz it doesn't circulate very well

    by any chance do you have a video on how you built the deck? I would like to build one similar to this, since its kid/toddler proof. Or can you guide me on it?

      @@backyardproblemsolver Thank you for the quick response. I recently installed our pool and want to add a small deck. I've watched many videos and your deck is exactly the size I'm looking at building. Great vids!

    Great idea! This is the only other video or even picture I have found with an alternative to attach. Our pool is hard sided and deck is below the outside rail. Do you have any ideas to attach without the tripping hazard?

    • @backyardproblemsolver
      @backyardproblemsolver  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! It’s hard to say without seeing it, but possibly a bracket that comes over the pool rail and back down? Like an upside down U. If had a bracket coming off the deck that the U could drop down into, then slip a bolt through to hold in place maybe. Just depends on how much room you have.

    I like your set up. Do you ever use a pool cover and if so are the railings easily removable to place cover over them?

    • @backyardproblemsolver
      @backyardproblemsolver  Рік тому

      I would put a winter cover on. There is enough space between the deck and pool to slide the cover under the deck.

    • @somethinfromscratch

      @backyardproblemsolver but to place a winterize cover, you'dneed to remove railings, right?

    Hi can you tell me what sizes(threaded cieling..etc..) did you use for the ladders

    • @backyardproblemsolver
      @backyardproblemsolver  2 місяці тому

      Sorry I don’t recall the size. You should be able to measure the post on your ladder. Or get a couple different sizes and return the ones you don’t need.

    How do you clean behind the steps

    • @backyardproblemsolver
      @backyardproblemsolver  Рік тому +2

      I just used the vacuum I used on the rest of the pool. Sometimes for tighter spaces I’d take the vacuum head off and use just the hose. But if you had to you could take the 2 screws out of the hose clamps and move the steps. A lot easier than if they were installed traditionally.

    What size pipe clamps did you use and how long is the threaded rod?

    • @backyardproblemsolver
      @backyardproblemsolver  2 роки тому

      I’m not sure on that. It’s been a couple years since I built this. If you measure the post on the steps you can find the size you’ll need and the threaded rods will depend on how the deck is built and what you can attach it to.

    How long it you cut the pvc? Did you weigh them when complete?

    • @backyardproblemsolver
      @backyardproblemsolver  2 роки тому

      I don’t remember how long, I just measured the inside of the steps, and made them about as long as I could, accounting for the caps, eye bolts, and a little extra wiggle room. I did not weigh them.

    • @72huntster
      @72huntster 2 роки тому

      @@backyardproblemsolver I hung a 20 pound weight off each hand rail. Same as recommended. Did fine for four days, then started floating. I’m so done with a pool. Lol

    • @backyardproblemsolver
      @backyardproblemsolver  2 роки тому

      @@72huntster I think they were probably at least 25-30 lbs each, and I had 4. So definitely more weight. If you have the same steps, following the same method outlined should work for you.
