Lorelai's paranoia about her parents is too much sometimes. She doesn't think a professional is capable of working with different people without gossiping? This poor woman enjoys her work and just wants to do her job. She isn't one of Emily's DAR cronies.
It’s super annoying
Lorelai isn't comfortable with her mother being involved in/or knowing her business, so she set boundaries. She's a designer. There is no confidentiality agreement unless she makes one.

Emily did pry this time, as Lorelai had predicted. And boy did she subsequently judge and get involved.

Lorelai is so unprofessional here. Like, how dare you go up to a designer and start saying that the only problem you have with them is the fact that they run in the same circles as your mother. Like, if Natalie was going to blab to Emily about Lorelai's money problems then that reflects badly on her business and her as a professional. Also, it seems like Natalie is being completely professional here so for Lorelai do this is downright insane. This poor woman doesn't care about you and your mommy's personal issues, she's just trying to do her job. A job that she was hired to do.
Lorelai is so on to her mother! Lol
