Okay let me get this straight…. You go to lunch every year with your-ex. An ex you know I have issues with because YOUR mother compares me to her and wishes you had married her instead. You then proceeded to keep it from me for almost 40 years. Then when I find out, you try to double down/lie. Richard needs to take a long walk off a short cliff.
@@RilianSharp yeah but I think through out the entire series, Richard’s ex was bought up but Emily wasnt aware of the extent Babs (Richard’s mother) went through to stop the wedding. She new from the beginning Babs preferred the ex just not enough to sabotage the wedding.
I really like what Emily is wearing. The Yale sweatshirt and the hat she looks so cool. I wish she would dress more casual like this. Also Richard was kissing Pennilynn Lott in an alley as if he was still in college, tsk tsk Richard.
Ngl, obviously going out for lunch with your friends is totally normal when you’re married without your partner. You certainly don’t need to tell your partner beforehand or ask for permission. But it’s pretty weird that for 39 years straight, neither your husband or your friend ever felt like mentioning they annually have lunch together.
No one is talking about asking for permission. It's the fact that after 40 years of marriage, Richard had never let it slip to Emily, meaning that he actively hid it from her because he knew how it would seem. That's deceitful. And secondly, as the previous commenter noted, she was literally the ex who his mother wanted him to marry!
