- In March 2021, Yonex launched a new version of the Astrox 88S called the Astrox 88S Pro. This video provides a simple comparison with the original 88S.
A more indepth written review of the Astrox 88S Pro willl be available on my website: badminton-coach.co.uk

It's good to see you back and reviewing rackets. We are all itching to get back onto the court again so just can't get enough badminton related content at the moment. Good to see you
Thank you! I am currently testing three more rackets
Good to see you back Paul
Thank you. Almost a year in lockdown and not too many players wanting to hear about rackets when they are unable to play. This video was a bit rushed and I would rather have filmed on court, but that’s a lot harder to do without good feeders
Good to hear from you again Paul, good summary. Looking forward to your video comparison on the 88D & 88D Pro as well as a detailed review which is always informative...
Full review of 88S pro will be next week. I haven’t received 88D pro as there are none available at Yonex
@@TheBadmintonCoach I’ll be waiting for it!
@@TheBadmintonCoach when can we expect the full review of the 88s pro? Eagerly awaiting 🔥
@@nigeldollentas hopefully later this week
@@TheBadmintonCoach awesome! Can’t wait to see it. Would preferably love to be able to try one out before I buy but :/
Good thoughts Paul. I've just strung up an 88D Pro and an 88S Pro to start testing.
Fancy a collaboration on a big Astrox 88 Pro review video? 😉
Happy to discuss
After a long long time... Paul is here
So sorry but with lockdown I have been unable to test rackets
I have been missing Coach Paul for so long
Thank you Lee. I hope to have more videos soon
hey Paul!! loved the reviews, is there any chance for a Victor Ryuga full review?
It all depends if I can get hold of this racket
@@TheBadmintonCoach hope you get it!!! thanks for responding!😁👍
@@dredd7 that will depend on whether a retailer wants me to review it
@@TheBadmintonCoach got it 😁👍
Very nice info, mr paul👍...would you be so kind to review the 88D pro also..much appreciated
I will review Astrox 88D Pro as soon as I can get hold of one
Hi coach. Nice comparison.👍🏽👍🏿👍👍🏾👍🏻👍🏼 In your opinion. Which one is much more easier to use? 88s pro or 100zz? & which one did you prefer?
For most players 88S Pro is easier to use . It’s a lighter head, stiff but a more familiar feel overall. Astrox 100 ZZ is amazing and is definitely my preferred racket. I loved the new solid shaft but it may take a little getting used to
Thanks for the many lovely messages. If you want to follow more, why not join me on Facebook and maybe one of my groups. I hold regular Q & A sessions so you could ask me questions
Thanks Paul for a great review. Which one is better for double between 88s pro and 11 pro? Thx
Both are great for doubles. It really depends on personal preference which to choose
Nice
Hello coach missing you for so long. Can you please guide me about lining turbocharging 80 Badminton racket
Sadly I rarely see Li-Ning rackets these days. I’ve no idea whether I will asked to review them
And the aerodynamic in the frame goes from top to the bottom before the u-grommet (like compact z-force series) maybe this is why the racket feel more fast on the newest series
Yes it could be.
What is the best string and tension for Astrox 88s pro in an intermediate doubles level for an al round player.
There isn’t a best string and tension for any racket. It’s purely personal choice
Hey sir
I’m looking forward to get a auraspeed 90s 3U or 88s pro 4U, which one would you recommend? And which one is better feeling to play with?
Many thanks
Kind regards
both are good. Choose which feels best to you
I’m a 88s user and have been thinking about getting the upgrade but heard from other reviews that the 88s pro lacks power compared to the original. What were your thoughts? In my feeling, the 88s has a great balance for me between speed and power and I’d def upgrade if the 88s pro has better speed for same power (even though that maybe impossible. If you used the 88s, would you upgrade just buy spare (and cheaper 88s originals)?
Nigel I had the 4U version and I felt it was a shade light in the head. It would easily replace Arcsaber 11.
@@TheBadmintonCoach thanks Coach. I use the 4U as well and feel like if I had changed rackets, it would’ve been to a 100zz or 88s pro. Looks like I’ll stay right where I am, and maybe just try the new ex bolt string instead😂
@@nigeldollentas the feel is completely different in the hit. I can’t see much difference in the frame but it is faster. I just don’t feel the weight in the head the same
@@TheBadmintonCoach I see. I’ll be on the lookout for your written review as it seems there’s more nuance. I do like fast (like BS12 fast) but feel I easily plateaued power wise on that
@@nigeldollentas this racket still hits hard and in some respects the faster frame provides better head speed so maybe they felt it didn’t need to be as heavy. Where are you based Nigel?
Any update on the written review Coach?
Written reviews for S and D done. Hopefully S will go live next week
4:05 considering the price range, the reason for them not giving the "pro" model a cover is correct. people who bought those racket would usually already got their own badminton bag and didn't even need a separate cover to begin with.
How does the 88S pro compare to the nanoflare 800?
800 is lighter in the head. I don’t have the rackets to do a visual comparison
I feel like the 88S Pro translates very well to Nanoflare 800 users. Its a hair slower but its got a much more solid feel and more powerful smashes.
@@upy0ur5 interesting thoughts and you could be right although I suspect NF 800 is even lighter in the head. I don’t have one to compare
@@TheBadmintonCoach yeah the head weight in the 88S Pro is what would give it the nicer feel and power. I live that racket. Felt nice even before I strung mine with Aerosonic at 22 lbs.
How’s it compared tot eh Astrox 100ZZ?
Not as head heavy.
Please review Nanoflare 700
I think I reviewed on my website but you now have me questioning whether I have
@@TheBadmintonCoach Thanks couch❤️❤️❤️
Dear sir review lining aeronaut 9000C
Sorry, I can’t do requests. If a retailer has the racket and wishes me to review it, then they will supply the racket
Had the Aeronaut 9000c and 9000 normal. Both are very powerful rackets. I find the 9000c is heavier overall and the 9000 is head heavier. Pretty fast rackets for the weight and box shaped frames due to the air stream holes in the frame. Also very surprisingly stable compared to the last generation Li Ning N99.
@@upy0ur5 I rarely see Li-Ning rackets these days as there are fewer around
@@TheBadmintonCoach they dont distribute them much in the UK anymore huh? You kinda have to hunt for them in the US. Im just the only guy willing to take a chance and buy the racket when I save up or get lucky and a relative gifts them to me.
@@upy0ur5 good on you.
How is 21dg slim
No idea as I haven’t tested it
Hi sir can you recommend a best racket?
There isn’t a best racket. You need to test and decide what you like in a racket
How big are your hands?!
Quite small
Hi Coach!
Can you giveaway a racket to me plz
Sadly I don’t have any rackets to give away. Test rackets are returned to the retailer so there aren’t any spares.
