Great review, CK. I've always enjoy watching your channel and I recently bought an Astrox 100ZZ after watching this clip. I do not know much about others current Yonex rackets to compare with as my last racket that I used 35 years ago was Carbonex 8. Well here I'm playing badminton again at my semi-retirement age. I must say Astrox 100ZZ is simply awesome!!!
Hi CK. I'd like to get your opinions on Victor Thruster F Enhanced Edition ( after watching your recent review) and Astrox 100ZZ since you've played with both rackets before. I've been thinking of getting a Victor TFE (3U) as my 2nd racket as I find that the Astrox 100ZZ doesn't seem to give me the extra punch that I needed for my smashes. Does Victor TFE fares better when it comes to smashing?
Great video as I often question myself about these racquets' power performance and playability. However I'm surprised to see 99 pro not being on top of raw power category, looks like it's a complete different racquet compared to the previous 99.
Awesome video, but I’ve found 100zz 4U lacking in smashing power. It works with bg80 power, but not with bg80, which is a much better overall string imo. I therefore sold my 100zz and currently use the OG 88d which is amazing with bg80 :)
I am confused with astrox 88d options (game/ tour & pro), which is best in 88d fit an advanced layer who is good at offensive and net play (playing doubles daily as exercise but seriously. I m a good smasher as well as good in drop shots from 3rd line; currently playing with muscle power 29 light for 5-6 years. Please help
After doing some research and swing test on the store, i choose 100zz. The option is 88d pro, 99 pro, Arc saber 11. First game with 100 zz with nanogy 98 on 28 lbs i felt lacking of power but i got a superb of control. Only needed 1 day i cut off this string and replaced with aerobite with 26lbs tension+10%. Result? I got a superb control with a lot of power. Honestly, this racket need time to get good feeling with this swing speed like a even balance racket but this is a head heavy racket!. After 4 hours using this racket, i’ve 3 words to describe, I love it!
Been using 100zz 3u with bg66u tension 28 for 6 months now. And since then so many people compliment my smash to be so powerful and many of them want to practice their defense with me. So I agree with this review saying that it was the ultimate best power racket from yonex at the moment.
@@pradika3218 used to strung it at 29 but then need to restrung almost every 2 or 3 weeks. Not good for pocket wise. Hahahaha. Just restrung 3 rackets this week alone and trying the exbolt 63 since they said it is more durable.
I’m very happy to have My ASTROX 100ZZ. It’s the best of all. I’m using a 4U model to play my singles and doubles game 💪. It is good with the nanogy99 at 26lbs, I just had the fastest smash of all time.
amazing review! I am a fan of Power Racket, happened to own AT 700 and AT900P when i was a kid, and ZF2 back in 2018. Switched to 99 pro and 100zz this year and your review is spot on! AT series got these "legacy smash power", and ZF2 is kind of like "wildlife smash". 4u 100zz is now fit for my playstyle and i play both singles and doubles with it!
Hi, do you mind sharing your feeling and experience when playing doubles using 100zz and 99 pro...and what type of string you are using. I do have 100zz, using aerobite boost, superior in control and repulsion force quite ok, but feeling slightly less power in smashing when comparing with BG80 power
I've been playing with the Ax99pro 4UG5 for about 2 months now, strung with bg80 power at 28lbs..playing doubles, what a power combination i found in my smashing. Just give it a few times to get used to manoeuvre it. Great video btw. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi, love the comparison Is the 100zz more user friendly than the 88d pro? Also any specialty of 100zz or 88d pro I'm coming from an astrox 77, so yeah, want more power and versatility
I happen to own all four of these rackets and the review is spot on! Been using the zforce2 from 2015 to 2020 and switched to astrox rackets. The astroxs are very powerful yet a lot nimble than the zforce.
Happy new year!! A very solid review to start off the year. Currently have the 100ZZ n 99pro. Somehow I managed to make the 99pro a little too soft by using nanogy 98. Love my 100zz to bits, with BG80 power. For sure both rackets are tiring at some point but 99pro, I guess we all need to do proper weights workout to be able to use it properly for a longer duration 🤣
@@CKYew 😆😆 as a medium feel strings combined with the 99pro it just felt softer compared to the 100zz with BG80 power, which I loved. Now might as well get hold of the 88S pro to cover more grounds n will probably stick to BG80 power . Or maybe try out the Exbolt !! Pls keep the awesome vids coming 😁👍
Honestly, I use the voltric zf2 and I respect your opinion (Edit) I also use the astrox 99 (not pro) and I actually got it in the 3U version. For my case, the feeling of the astrox 99 to me feels good. And it is also the older racket that I own. I’ve been using the astrox 99 for 2 years and I bought the zf2 A month ago.
@@jonathanlayadi Cant find any other rackets that felt the same as the 99P. I have the zf2 3ug5 but the softer feel and wide sweet spot of 99P makes it more enjoyable for power play. So yeah, if you want more power and you have a solid footwork for positioning, the 99P will give you the extra edge you’re looking for 😁
Hi, what the string you are using on 99pro. I was using BG80power. Just bought 100zz with aerobite boost 26lbs..superior in control and its power quite ok.. But feel that slightly lacking power in smashing. Considering exbolt 63 or BG66 force
i’ve used exbolt 63 and currently aerobite boost.. but in my opinion exbolt 63 is better, gives considerable amount of repulsion and very satisfying hitting sound
@@temansehobi kinda sluggish and hard for defence. Very powerful if you time it right but a very demanding racket. But that one quite cheap in my country so for the price it kinda worth it 👌
After Z-Force 2, 100ZZ, Voltric 5, I'm now using Nanoflare 800LT, a lightweight/head-light as my main. With Exbolt63 26lbs I can smash with it better than a 100ZZ with BG80 27lbs.
Lol I have both 100zz and nf800lt, I think 800lt smashes better when you are tall and you hit high but you are not a power smasher. I definitely have the same feeling sometimes because of how much faster the swing is with 800lt.
@@shuangzhou8445 haha a few months after my original post, i've improved my technique a bit as well as changing my grip size on the 100zz. Now the playing with 100zz feels better than with 800lt. I still keeping both for different play style though
I have all these rackets. Each racket is different, referring to your categories. My experience with these rackets is that ZF2 only offers power games and is very unforgiving in all other aspects. Astrox 99 Pro is a new experiment for Yonex and has a significant grooves problem. Astrox 100ZZ is decent though the structure becomes fragile when strung at a higher tension and a bit deficiency in power. Astrox 88 D pro is for overall games in doubles and offers more to frontcourt players. Please make a video on Lining or Victor rackets if you find anything interesting to brag about it.
@@CKYew In Li-Ning, I have Aeronaut 9000c, which is similar to ZF2 but a little more forgiving. Aeronaut 9000i light & head heavy, easy on hands, and good for doubles. You would feel that it could have been a tad heavier to pack more punch but a good racket for all court players, especially front and mid-court. Li-Ning Aeronaut 9000 ends up selling for 1/2 price. 9000D is not bad for people who don't smash much and have control game. Li-NingWindstorm rackets series is not bad for the price. In Victor, I have not explored anything
Interesting review CK, I only have the Astrox ZZ100 and 88D Pro, both 4U (although I have played briefly with a friend's ZF2 which I found to be way too stiff and head heavy for me, it was like trying to play with a plank of wood). I agree that the 100ZZ has more effective power than the 88D Pro but I also find that the 100ZZ has marginally better handling, it's just such a sweet racket to use. In the flat game, I find the 100ZZ's shorter shaft makes it slightly nimbler and quicker than the 88D Pro. The 100ZZ also has a really nice feel to the racket head when hitting shots and edges out the 88D Pro for me. I also have the 88S Pro and I can actually generate more effective power with the 88S Pro than the 88D Pro because it's lighter and quicker which means I can get into position more easily to execute a smash and the lighter head and whippier shaft (at least that's how it feels) allows for greater racket head speed and more effective power most of the time. It just goes to show there's more than one way to skin a cat, case in point, Wang Chi Ling generates tremendous power with his smashes with a Nanoflare 700.
Absolutely!! Everyone has a different preference and Wang Chi Lin and Lee Yang is certainly a good example for head light rackets! The 88S Pro is certainly very rapid!
@@zenith5795 Hi, I bought the 88dp few months back and have been using it since then. I'll give you a short review of it here and the detailed review is in the badminton bites website, Ill update the link once its published. I also have tried the 100zz on court at multiple situations. Overall, if you have a good physique and power also good strokes and are in higher intermediate going to advanced, then the 100zz would be the racket in which you will get the most out of. 88dp is also very good and meant for higher intermediate too but still can be used by intermediate players. Both these rackets have smaller sweetspots than usual rackets like 77, so be aware of that.
@@nihalsameer6417 Thank you for the reply. I'm an intermediate+ player with aggressive playing style. I'm currently using Nanoflare 800 which gives me good control for the stiffness and it has decent power. Now I want to switch to a head heavy racket. But the dilemma is Stiffness and solid hitting feel between 88D pro and 100zz. My inclination is towards 100zz but I don't wish to spoil my game because of the stiffness and learning curve that racket has.( That's what I have heard) My priorities are Head heaviness, Larger sweet spot than NF800 , great at back court and singles , Average in front court and does not compromises my current Play. Also in India 88D pro is slightly cheaper than 100zz. What your opinions on this as you have played with both ?
Thanks to this video, I decided to switch to 100zz from 99 pro and can say that 100zz is much easier to play compare to the sledge hammer 99 pro, feel nice to generate power through smashes.
quick update: However, because of super stiff shaft of 100ZZ, it injured my shoulder after every badminton game, I decided to switch to Yonex Medium Stiff Racket like Astrox 77 and the new recent one Astrox 77 Pro. You should make a review about that racket, it's a nice racket to play in 77 series.
Played with 100zz , zforce2 and astrox 99pro. And I ended up with astrox 99pro. Astrox 100zz and zforce 2 is too stiff and if shuttle passes you , you gonna end up hitting a stupid shot… you gotta be super fit and accurate to use astrox100 and zforce2. And still it’s gonna give you some shoulder pains. For me astrox99 pro with aerobite is just so smooth in overall.
Hi ck , are u able to do a review of duora 10 as well? Thanks! Btw,I love ur content so much as it's interesting and I get to know more of the specs of the racket
@@CKYew Yes I have, but I would like a more in depth comparison regarding raw power and maneuverability, as well as how it stacks up against the 88D Pro in terms of ease of use and not just the raw racquet specifications. Thank you for taking the time to read my comment!
Hi CK, I am an American fan of your reviews. I am a 17 year old playing at an advance level, and I was wondering which racket to get next: The Astrox 100 ZZ, or Astrox 99 Pro. I am about 5 foot 9, so not too short or tall. I was deciding between these two rackets because I would like to have a Shi Yu Qi-like playstyle. My playstyle is quite similar to his, with a fast-paced mildly aggressive playstyle utilizing many half smashes and decent net play to put pressure. Thanks, keep up the videos!
Hellooo, the key thing for high performing junior such as yourself would be to get something that you're comfortable with and allows you to continue to develop well. I would certainly recommend you trying them out and see which one fits you best.
@@CKYew Thanks for the reply! Yes I will try out both rackets, but just wondering: What are the balance points of the 100 ZZ and 99 Pro, as I cannot find them online. Thanks, keep posting!
I have bought the 100ZZ 4U and do love playing with it, but i'm now contemplating whether to buy the 3U model for Singles matches (to get the extra power). What will I gain by switching to the 3U and what will I lose when compared to the 4U version? Also thank you @CK Yew for the amazing videos.
Would be great if you could test these with a speed gun to see what the actual raw power/speeds are

Had you use the 4UG5 Z FORCE II, WOULD WIN ALL CATEGORISE. The problem with it was that the quality of production dropped in latter years. I had 2 of this racket with SP numbers where the top 6 grommets collapsed with 28ibs tension, and when I cut it in half, I found that a layer of graphite was missing on the top of the head. I kind of wonder if Yonex deliberately was doing this to phase it out!
The white zf2 that I tested here is a 4ug5 model 😂

@@CKYew I know, but there is a day and night difference between VTF II 3U and 4U. I tried the 3U 1st and I actually found it too heavy, but 4 months later someone ask me to try the 4U and it was love at 1st try.
At this moment I am using 77pro.... And I loved it.... I want to upgrade my smash power.... But I don't want to lose a lot at defense and front court play.... Which one more suitable for me according to your opinion? 100zz or 88d pro? 😊
I have the 100ZZ 3U kurenai with exbolt at 29lbs 😅 after 8 games it snapped. Took me weeks to get used to it. But this is a beast! Very stiff and head heavy. Waiting for my Nanoflare 800LT. 😊

Hi there CK! love your video!! and I can say for myself that the 100zz is one of my best purchase in 2021!! It really got me around 1-2 months to get used to it.. and my my my.. it's really as what you said.. the shuttle really listens to you or how like my friend would described it.. it's an extension of my arm.. However recently I am having little doubts as I am prone to pull a muscle of two on my arm whenever I smashed too much or in some worse cases, miss-hit a smash... which brings me to my question. Do you think i should scale down a bit to 88pro? or maybe the 77? I play because I love the game.. not to compete and win tournaments.. So would it be even better for me if I switch to the nanoflare 700 for a more enjoyable overall experience? thanks : )
Amazing to hear how much you're enjoying the 100ZZ. You should look at strengthening all related areas and perhaps get coaching/practice more to get better technique and timing?
Do you think 100zz good for intermediate player? Because some people said 100zz is hard to use. They said it has small sweet spot.. you have to hit precisely on sweet spot
Mate, which is the best power racket we have available in the market? also can you please explain, which string and tension to be used to get the ultimate power?
Just got myself 2 3UG5 100ZZs (transitioning from Voltric 70). Was pleasantly surprised with how quick and nimble the racquet is during defence and counter attacks. However I found the effective power lacking. (compared to the voltric 70) It is strung currently strung at 26lbs. Perhaps I need to decrease the tension to help offset the stiffness of the racquet.
3U 100ZZ? That was pretty heavy. I owned 4U and 3U but the difference between that two quite big. 3U is heavier a lot compare to 88D Pro 4U to 3U. Without a good technique this is killing your shoulder for sure, lol.
@@voxmindflex I am Advanced Doubles player. You know I need swift and speed than control. 4U is the best for me, just bought another one. You just need right string to maximize the power in 100ZZ. And for my 3U racket is a spare in case I broke the strings of my 4U.
Great review , is this comparison true on game versions of these racket as well ? Which is your pick in 100 Game vs 88D Game vs 99 Game . I am getting these around same price around 5500 Ruppes in india.
im currently using the 4u 100zz and im toying with the idea with something more forgiving and a bit more flex... would you say the 88d pro 4u would be a good choice? also, maybe u can do a video about the effects of using a smaller grip like g6 over the regular g4 and g5?
the 88D Pro would be a great choice. Grip sizes are very personal. If you buy small grip sizes, you can always pad them up. If you buy big, you cant go down. 😬🤣
Hello from France. Thanks for your video. I'm a voltric 80 lover and I would like to find a racket with the same specs and feeling. Do you think that the astrox 99 could be a good choice?
Great comparison! I wish to find a replacement/spare for my OG 88D, sadly they’re discontinued. Tested the 88D Pro but sadly they don’t produce as much power as the OG due to the lighter head balance. Do you think 100ZZ will be a good replacement? My OG 88D is 4U btw. Thank you in advance! 🙏🏼
Hi CK, nice review, i like it bro. Anw i think i'm an intermediate player. I'm not good in terms of technique but not that bad too. So which one should i choose for the racket? Tia!
Hi CK love the review, i need some advise ad I am using 100zz 4u for double. I love to control the game from rear court and give powerful smash occasionally. I am planning to try aerobite/ aerobite boost. But unsure for which one will be much better for me. Any suggestion for which one will be better. Aerobite or aerobite boost ?
Aerobite are medium feeling and the boost are harder feeling. I used to use the boost as they were harder feel which I prefer. I now play with VBS68 as after much testing are my favourite strings. Definitely reccomend the vbs if you like rear of court. Drop shots are like butter 🧈 😊 anyways I hope this helps a bit untill sensei CK replies lol

I wish there was something in between the two and finding myself preferring the Duora Z-Strike more at the moment (for feathers anyway) maybe I just haven't adjusted to head heavy rackets (usually even or light head I've played with).

Hi, I know nothing about batminton even though I might have played this sport twice in my childhood. So I been look up reviews on different Yonex rackets and trying to find a well performing one for a maybe seasoned player. I am thinking of buying the Yonex Astrox 100zz as a gift for a 40ish male friend of average 5’4 height; average build. I am not sure of his skill level or style of play. I just know he plays regularly 2-3 times a week committedly. What would you recommend the string tension to be? And do u think this is a good choice? I appreciate your advice and love your video review.
Hellooo, it might be worth asking him directly of what he likes? If you're trying to keep it as a surprise, why not get the racket frame but keep it unstrung so he can have his fav strings strung?

Hoping you could give me some recommendations.

Hi, hoping to get your advice. I haven't played for over 10/15 years and am looking for a used racket. I use to have an armortec 700 back in the day and I loved it. Is there an older racket you recommend that is similar? Perhaps an older version of the 100zz or something similar? Thank you
at first i thought asx 100 zz had a lot of gimmicks to justify the pricing but after using it myself, gotta say its kinda justified. its supposed to be a head heavy racket yet there is something about it that can be played like a headlight racket (maybe due to the skinny shaft?) the only catch about it is it can be unforgiving when the shuttle contact is mistimed or mis-hit away from the sweet spot
This is my third time watching your video. I still can't decide if I want to buy 88s pro or 88d pro. I like to rotate in the court when playing doubles. Sometimes at the front, sometimes at the back. Or should I buy arcsaber 11 pro?

I'm coming from an astrox 77, so yeah, want more power and versatility
I happen to own all four of these rackets and the review is spot on! Been using the zforce2 from 2015 to 2020 and switched to astrox rackets. The astroxs are very powerful yet a lot nimble than the zforce.
Its amazing isnt it!!

Happy new year! Haha I wouldn't say Nanogy 98 is soft but the 99 Pro is certainly softer than the 100ZZ 🤣

Why not both??!! 😂😂
88D Pro is recommended!
That's what I went for 88D, arrived today!
Honestly, I use the voltric zf2 and I respect your opinion
(Edit) I also use the astrox 99 (not pro) and I actually got it in the 3U version. For my case, the feeling of the astrox 99 to me feels good. And it is also the older racket that I own. I’ve been using the astrox 99 for 2 years and I bought the zf2 A month ago.
😊😊
Is your zf2 3u or 4u? How is it? Is it better?
I have the 100ZZ. Can confirm that the wicked colour scheme increases the power of my smash.

Been playing doubles with the 99pro 3UG6 for about 2 weeks(daily), after getting used to it I really like the power and solidity it offers 😁
solid powerrrrr!!! 😂
What do you feel after using 99 pro for a while ?
Im thinking on buying 99 pro or 88 pro, i have hard hitter playstyle.

Once again your video answering my questions. Thanks again CK! 😂
Any time!
For the li-ning equivalent I'd probably pick the 3D calibar 900c. Packs a lot of power while still having a decent feeling and handling.
for me it would be li-ning tectonic 9 3U
Im with Aeronaut 9000 😘
That's a pretty good list there!!!
For me. GFORCE 9000. It has extra smash power feature
@@temansehobi kinda sluggish and hard for defence. Very powerful if you time it right but a very demanding racket. But that one quite cheap in my country so for the price it kinda worth it 👌
I use 100zz 4U with aerobite boost strings.
Love this racket!! powerful n excellent maneuverability once u get used to it
Good to know!
Using this setup at 28lbs on my 100zz 3u and my zforce 4u. Absolutely amazing setup if you don't miss hit a lot
Do you think bg80 would be good for the 100zz
Let's goooo. Already set on the 99pro Cherry Sunburst 4u though. I prefer the slightly whippier yet solid hit of the 99 pro without being too stiff.
Absolutely!! Everyone has their own preferences 👍👍

After Z-Force 2, 100ZZ, Voltric 5, I'm now using Nanoflare 800LT, a lightweight/head-light as my main. With Exbolt63 26lbs I can smash with it better than a 100ZZ with BG80 27lbs.
POWERRRR!!!! 😂
@@ndkhoa2812do you still use bg80?
I have all these rackets. Each racket is different, referring to your categories. My experience with these rackets is that ZF2 only offers power games and is very unforgiving in all other aspects. Astrox 99 Pro is a new experiment for Yonex and has a significant grooves problem. Astrox 100ZZ is decent though the structure becomes fragile when strung at a higher tension and a bit deficiency in power. Astrox 88 D pro is for overall games in doubles and offers more to frontcourt players. Please make a video on Lining or Victor rackets if you find anything interesting to brag about it.
Which LiNing and Victor rackets would you recommend?
Thanks for letting me know! I'm certainly looking at LiNing and Victor rackets to review soon.
The arcsaber 11 pro just got announced and I'm very excited to your review about it
Me too! Absolutely!
Still saving for astrox 88d pro
Keep going buddy!! You'll get there soon 👍👍
Hey, could you give me a quick comparison between 100zz and 88d p assuming both are 4u. Because I'm planning to buy either of them
@@nihalsameer6417 So, what was your purchase decision and experience? I'm stuck between these two rackets as well.
100zz + bg80 power is the best of the best feeling i have ever played with. drive shot couldnt have felt better
haha BG80 or BG80 Power dont want to be friends with me 🤣
Awesome... awaiting a speed racket review now?
Nanoflares?

Thanks to this video, I decided to switch to 100zz from 99 pro and can say that 100zz is much easier to play compare to the sledge hammer 99 pro, feel nice to generate power through smashes.
Niceeeeee 👍🏼👍🏼
quick update: However, because of super stiff shaft of 100ZZ, it injured my shoulder after every badminton game, I decided to switch to Yonex Medium Stiff Racket like Astrox 77 and the new recent one Astrox 77 Pro. You should make a review about that racket, it's a nice racket to play in 77 series.

The 77 is softer in comparison to the 100ZZ on all accounts and obviously significantly head lighter and user friendly than the 100ZZ too.

Had you use the 4UG5 Z FORCE II, WOULD WIN ALL CATEGORISE. The problem with it was that the quality of production dropped in latter years. I had 2 of this racket with SP numbers where the top 6 grommets collapsed
with 28ibs tension, and when I cut it in half, I found that a layer of graphite was missing on the top of the head.
I kind of wonder if Yonex deliberately was doing this to phase it out!
The white zf2 that I tested here is a 4ug5 model 😂

You should look at strengthening all related areas and perhaps get coaching/practice more to get better technique and timing?
good nigh!you created nice recording! fellow~
Glad you enjoyed it!
I played with all of them and all of them are fabulous...
Do you think 100zz good for intermediate player? Because some people said 100zz is hard to use. They said it has small sweet spot.. you have to hit precisely on sweet spot
The 4U model will be easier to play with 👍🏼
Mate, which is the best power racket we have available in the market? also can you please explain, which string and tension to be used to get the ultimate power?
Just got myself 2 3UG5 100ZZs (transitioning from Voltric 70). Was pleasantly surprised with how quick and nimble the racquet is during defence and counter attacks. However I found the effective power lacking. (compared to the voltric 70) It is strung currently strung at 26lbs. Perhaps I need to decrease the tension to help offset the stiffness of the racquet.
😬😬
3U 100ZZ? That was pretty heavy. I owned 4U and 3U but the difference between that two quite big. 3U is heavier a lot compare to 88D Pro 4U to 3U.

If you liked the AT700, you’ll love the new Astrox series such as the 100ZZ, 88S and D Pro 👌
at first i thought asx 100 zz had a lot of gimmicks to justify the pricing but after using it myself, gotta say its kinda justified. its supposed to be a head heavy racket yet there is something about it that can be played like a headlight racket (maybe due to the skinny shaft?) the only catch about it is it can be unforgiving when the shuttle contact is mistimed or mis-hit away from the sweet spot
I agree, the 100ZZ is 'weirdly' very nice/easy to play with compared to how it is promoted as an extra stiff/very head heavy racket.
This is my third time watching your video. I still can't decide if I want to buy 88s pro or 88d pro. I like to rotate in the court when playing doubles. Sometimes at the front, sometimes at the back. Or should I buy arcsaber 11 pro?
Either of the 3 would be very nice to play with and I dont think you'll regret buying either 1 too!
@@CKYew thank you. I have decide that I will buy the 88d pro.I think that racket will suit me well
