I’m 70, been playing since 11. I can barely stand up and play my Les Paul anymore, but still practice and play daily. Have always loved Neil Giraldo, and Pat Benatar as the best front singer ever. Her voice has aged superbly. ❤

My wife and I married in 76’. We had every album by Pat and Neal. This says a lot for longevity! Like them, we are still together and have our 69th anniversary in May. This concert brings back many memories for us.
You are so very lucky to have had all those years together. With many more to come if you are lucky. I lost my love after only 25 years. Hang on to each other tightly!
Her voice is remarkable, at her age. She sounds terrific. Her voice was beyond belief when she was young. Her voice, now, is still better than most. If you listened to the entire show you must not have thought it that bad.
I would like to think so too but she is definitely lip syncing on some of these songs. It was very obvious several times during promises in the dark. One point she forgot to put the mic back to her lips but could be heard perfectly.

Honestly, Ronnie James Dio dropped the ball not having benatar and geraldo as part of the Stars project for feeding folk in Africa. I remember seeing niel schon on there as one of guitarists and often wondered why neil geraldo was not on there as well. I think with AI now we can have all sorts of folk participatiing in this collabration from '86.
He's a great studio guitarist, and a decent live pianist, but his live guitar playing just doesn't do it for me. He just doesn't deliver on the subtle nuances that make his studio work spark.

But go back like I have recently and listen to the few well-recorded live concents from back in the day, Live From Earth, a greatest hits live recording from Austin, Texas in 1981, another called Searchin' for a Sign Live from Upper Darby in 1988 and Where Time Stands Still in 1979 from Seattle, On all of those, Neil is SMOKING THE STAGE. Yes, totally agree with what you said about the nuances in Neil's playing in the studio. But I do think you're being a bit harsh with your conclusion about his live work. At least for me, the above examples for sure showcase that Neil magic and tone. We agree to disagree. All good. :)

I first heard Pat in 1980... have loved her and Neil ever since. I got the opportunity to hang out with them at a free concert they put on in Collingswood New Jersey back in the 90's. What great people they are!! truly deserving of the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame

I recently saw HEART performed live and they had four guitarists sharing rhythm & lead. Here is Neil Giraldo doing it all and the band sounds amazingly tight & absolutely full. Really impressive! And Pat Benatar's vocals, simply superb!

I saw Pat in concert in the summer of 2023. In all my years of seeing and playing in bands, she was the most incredible female singer I’ve ever seen. That includes all the divas. Pats intonation and vibrato is flawless. Her voice is so incredibly strong. Until you witness her power and presence in person you can’t appreciate the full effect of her vocal ability. They were playing really loud, you could see the drummer beating the hell out of those drums.it’s possible she was having trouble hearing her vocals. I play in a rock band with a female vocalist and I’m constantly fighting the drummer and other guitar player to lighten up so we can hear vocals.

@@billb.7346 yep I thought about that,too. Giraldo’s guitar was really hot in the mix. They were playing really loud, you could see the drummer beating the hell out of those drums.it’s possible she was having trouble hearing her vocals. I play in a rock band with a female vocalist and I’m constantly fighting the drummer and other guitar player to lighten up so we can hear vocals.
I have loved Pat since i was a teenager. I'm 57 and i still listen toi her music.🥰

I saw them in Cleveland back in 1986. They were in the middle of a long tour and they were just okay. They showed twice the amount of energy in thia video than nearly 40 years ago. That's pretty impressive.
