HP Probook 455 G1 Laptop Repair

Fixing an HP laptop for family. Usual dread opening a laptop that 2 other people had attempted to repair already. The original fault is still present (screen goes blank when fully opened) - in fact it is the backlight not the screen. But there is a plethora of things to deal with - As well as all the screws being mixed up (and some missing) some cables are not secured correctly, the keyboard has been damaged by forcing it out with a screwdriver and only partly works, The SD card reader is disconnected but the owner was unaware.
Can he fix it - yes he can!

my screen flickrs when i move it while opening closing . at some points it settle but flickrs on other points
i have same model
what do i do?

Sounds like a similar problem, as you can see fiddly to fix. In my opinion I should wait until it becomes a problem, do a backup, and try replacing cable. Since it is essentially unusable you can't make it much worse. Of course it depends how you feel about it.
