Thank you. Finger spelling is important. I do it everyday , all day. As a recovering alcoholic i need something to occupy my time, mind, restless hands, fingers. I feel ive made progress over the years in ASL and my recovery.

Love your teaching, my family loves you ❤️, I'm hard of hearing, losing my hearing, finger spelling is a challenge for me, I'm learning sign language to become a interpretor. Thank you much.

The letter “e” is the one I was curious about when I clicked this video. What I’ve always done, mistakenly, is rest my 3 fingers on my thumb. I see people do it very sloppily, and it’s irritating. Either do it right, or just stop signing! 😂
I taught myself finger spelling many years ago using an old book by Elaine Costello. I didn’t have any use for ASL at the time, but I thought it would be a good skill to have later down the road. Little did I know that I would be using it periodically to communicate with deaf people who come into my life quite unexpectedly. My ASL is just good enough to be terrible, but if I didn’t know any, I would miss out on some very rich relationships. So thankful for channels like this, as well as for Elaine Costello for making such a wonderfully easy book to learn from.

There is a name I haven’t seen in a while! As far as the 3 fingers…you will recognize both as you talk with someone. Keep your own finger spelling crisp while recognizing variations from others.
