"Cherish" is one word I'd have included. Don't drop that ring! Congrats on #50!
I'm Sarah and I am learning ASL as a 3rd language. I love you videos and am using them to bridge the gap between my night classes at a local high school. I'll join a conversation group when I get a little more confident and have more basics. When signing numbers (like the 50 you did) or two words in a row. The direction is left to right from the perspective of the signer, not the view, Correct?
It was raining, it was so cold it turned to sleet
Wow! Thank you so much for your help. I am now busy practicing, Gord
😊
Thanks for swinging by
I may not get to interpreter level, but I plan to get to a level of being able to converse about whatever. I love seeing signs in sentences and how they flow into each other.
Loving the language is the key
Thank you U are great ! Please continue with your amazing work!
Thank you for taking the time to watch.
Very nice. I forgot a lot of these. Thank you.
Easy as riding a bike…comes back quickly
It does, you're right. I don't plan to give up.
Another great lesson ❤ty. I have a question for you, if I may. I'm trying to learn the correct way to sign The word Style, in the lexicalized version. Do we omit the T and the Y??. Next question can you make a video explaining how to sign Style and the lexicalized version of "design " included. Thanks for considering it-Kelly
Give me a sentence as an example
@ We are going to hire an artist, to paint a mural on our garage door. Hopefully she can give us a few style and design ideas to fit our business needs.
@@kellycronk1596 I would sign "today" and spell "style"...indicating modern.
@@signlanguagepracticeOk, thanks for getting back to me on this. and making great suggestions and videos for us.
Thank you for this video
Thank you for taking the time to watch
I work as an ASL Interpreter. I tell people go to Deaf Events. Once you become one they become your clients! lol
Do you use an agency or do all your outreach yourself?
@ I’m working for several different agencies. My main job is at a school I work k-12th grade.
I agree. We do need more advanced level ASL/Interpreting content on UA-cam not just the vocab Word videos for the neophyte signers.
great info, practical and helpful, thx!
Hope it comes in handy
My wife and I want to renew our 50th anniversary wedding vows while scuba diving. We wanted to keep it fairly simple and will not be able to do much facial expression due to the mask and regulator. I have a ring to present to her as part of the exchange of vows. phrases I wanted to use include: 50 years, I love you, best friend, honor and respect, will always be there to help each other, looking forward to the next 50 years, thank you for your love and devotion, ring as a symbol of our love, will you marry me again. Any other ideas you have to offer? Any good sources to learn these phrases? Thank you
When? If I haven't missed the blessed occasion, please let me know.
Hope this video helps. CONGRATS ua-cam.com/video/QPzW5QEM3hY/v-deo.html
I thought this would teahc about one handed, but all I saw was 2 hands moving all the time, I only have one hand, so this is of no use, also i'm dislexic, so i cant spel even if my life depended on it..
Where do you teach? I would love to have you as my professor!
Just here on UA-cam. Thanks for the compliment though.
Great video, thank you!
Appreciate you watching!
What about fiance/ soulmate?
fiance - non dominant hand in a 5 handshape, dominant hand makes the letter "f", slight circle as you place the "f" on the ring finger. As far as soulmate, I would sign, their soul, my soul combine.
how about short hair?
Two ways. If you're saying "Your hair is short", take your dominant hand and sign the letter "G" with the fingers slightly wider apart. Place the sign next to your hair and squeeze the fingers together (not all the way) to indicate how short their hair is. Second, imagine someone who had long hair cut it short. Begin at shoulder length, both hands with the same sign, imagine fingers together with thumb outstretched, bend the four fingers to a horizontal position, raise both hands at the same time to indicate that their hair length is shorter....now if you understood all of that you are brilliant! Tough to comunicate a visual language via words some time!
@ thank you!!
@@Ram3nN00dl3s Hope it was comprehensible!
Beatiful Storys 🙏🏿
Pretty personal...thanks for watching
This is just the video I was looking for! There’s a few deaf people in my town and I work at the grocery store, so these are very good to know!!
Great. Good luck
I always kind of my bought of kiss-fist like chef’s kiss. It’s just ‘mush! Love it!’
Thank you for swinging by to watch
Thank you for this video! I would love to see more interpreting challenges and videos like this. I’m a k-12 interpreting who also does some community work as well and always looking for more interpreting resources.
Thanks. So do you do K-12 because that is a great fit for you or as a stepping stone to more difficult assignments?
Thanks
No problem
He sucks I'm almost deaf so I need to to see the subtitles to know what being said and I don't know ASL. He speaking and signing to fast for me to follow what he's saying.
Thanks for the feedback. Do you have captions on for UA-cam? If so, do you still not see the captions? I may have done something wrong on my side.
you can go to the settings (little wheel on the screen), and slow down the playback speed. you can get it as slow as 1/4 speed i believe.
What do you do if it hurts on your elbow and its the one you sign with?
Meaning that you as a signer have elbow pain/tendonitis?
@signlanguagepractice yup like do you just use the other hand or something else?
@@the.man.invisible just make do with what you have to work with...other hand, facial movement, gesture, notes...
@@signlanguagepractice ok
😊 thats good to know.
Thanks for watching
I want to learn ASL and get a BA in ASL and work with children and parent who are hard hearing or deaf but I’m afraid of failing I’m a native Spanish speaking and English second language. Why learning English I would be bully as a kid afraid of the same to happen again
If you really want it...try. You will never know unless you give it a try. In fact, you would be trilingual (Spanish, English, ASL). In our area, trilingual interpreters are very hard to find.
Love these videos! You’re always so upbeat and positive & the memory aides you share make learning so much easier! Wondering if you could do one of these videos with the “Y” handshape? Thank you!
Lots of requests...I need to create a play list with all of these.
this is great stuff! helping me on my college ASL final
So how did you do?
@ 100% ✨
@@hayleybrooke15 CONGRATS!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I was thinking Parking lot. The 3 hand shape on open palm, and then area with open hand palm down ❤
Nice job!!!
I keep coming back to these practice sentences, learning something new every time. I find myself reviewing different signs for words that sound the same but have different meanings. context, is everything. So now I'm looking up, how to sign "training" eg: weight lifting training
so how would you differentiate "practice" and "training"...within a specific context?
@@signlanguagepractice I would sign exercise, followed up with the the practice sign. Happy New Year to you and all of your loyal followers.
@@kellycronk1596 Checking since practice and training can be the same sign
This is beautiful and you show your love for your parents!

Super kind of you to say
Great great video , thank you ! Do you have using the K?
I need to put together a play list of all of them
Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to watch

Appreciate it
How would you sign “I care” or “I care about you”?
Depends on the person, I would either substitute the sign "love" or sign care which is both hands in the letter "k", one on top of the other, and combined the hands rotate in a circular motion forward
Your videos are so enjoyable and informative. I like your style of teaching, I’m learning so much! Thank you!
Kind of you to say. Good luck with your learning
I don't have any deaf relatives in my family and I don't know anyone who is. But the way you teach with your soul, with love and enthusiasm made me want to learn. Congratulations, teacher, you are amazing!

Happy to help!
That did help, indeed. Have seen signers at our church differentiate 'faithful' from 'faith' by adding a bounce to it.... two F hand shapes that meet, then the top one bounces forward.
