@signlanguagepractice I work in Public works, a newer employee approached me just this week, and asked about how he could learn ASL, I sent him to your channel

I agree. We do need more advanced level ASL/Interpreting content on UA-cam not just the vocab Word videos for the neophyte signers.

Thank you for this video! I would love to see more interpreting challenges and videos like this. I’m a k-12 interpreting who also does some community work as well and always looking for more interpreting resources.

Thanks. So do you do K-12 because that is a great fit for you or as a stepping stone to more difficult assignments?

I may not get to interpreter level, but I plan to get to a level of being able to converse about whatever. I love seeing signs in sentences and how they flow into each other.

Yess! Please continue making these interpreting practice videos! I am an inspiring asl interpreter and I struggle with this and finding out the right word to use when interpreting asl to English and vice versa! You definitely get it!lol I feel like I’m never going to get it. But I’m going to take your advice and keep going! Thanks 😊

100%! I don’t know of another language that uses the alphabet in the way ASL does

Thank you so much for doing this video I see how difficult this is and I would love to be that good . But I really am not suited for that hard of a conversation yet.i knew it would be hard. I didn't know where to start with that conversation glad you showed us what that looks like and you had to do your homework on that on . Thank you again.

Yes please create more of this kind on content and I had one other question I know you said you are a coda can or would one of your parents sign something simple so we can see what this would have looked like in the family. If you can't I understand your folks may not want to do this.

I have a question. When traveling to another country is the signing the same or different? Do most people go with or without an interpreter? It seems there could be alot of challenges at home as well as abroad could you try to elaborate more on this topic. Ty

Every country has it's own unique sign language. There are similarities between sign languages as there are with some languages and English. However, as an example, it is easier for me to understand some countries where Spanish is the dominant language rather than England where British Sign Language (BSL) fingerspelling is very different.

I want to learn ASL and get a BA in ASL and work with children and parent who are hard hearing or deaf but I’m afraid of failing I’m a native Spanish speaking and English second language. Why learning English I would be bully as a kid afraid of the same to happen again

If you really want it...try. You will never know unless you give it a try. In fact, you would be trilingual (Spanish, English, ASL). In our area, trilingual interpreters are very hard to find.
