Part 5 is the most underrated in the series and somedays I feel like it’s my favorite

Part 5 is good. It’s gets a bum rap and that sucks just like Nightmare 2 and Halloween 3. Which I also like!

I totally get it and it’s awesome that the “black sheep” films in horror films series have cult followings. I love all of them. I bought a Part 5 Jason mask replica. To go with my other horror movie memorabilia. I also got a Robert Englund signed screen accurate part 1 Freddy glove.
My grandma just got me this for a Christians present today haha I love her so much for that

I prefer the old VHS cover art for Friday the 13th part V. Shame it wasn't included. Other than that, this set is amazing!

If I remember right, the alternate artwork was teaser posters that went to theaters to promote the movies before they were done being shot. Then the other artwork were the final theatrical posters. Would have been nice if part 8 would have included the alternate “I Love New York” poster.

Great review. I like the cover art for part 5, its what they used when they ran movie listings in the newspapers back in the 80's. I havent seen that one since then. Pretty cool as a nostalgia throwback for those who remember! :)

Why cant they just release the fully uncut versions of all the films? they have the slashed scenes separately why not just include them? It would be awesome to see these movies again differently, otherwise its a cool set.
I know I wish they found the uncut part 7 footage that would be epic! Still a rad set and great to get if your a F13 fan. Thanks a bunch for watching

I personally would still watch all of them with the poor quality scenes spliced in because I'm sure it wouldn't be that big of a deal because it's not like half the movie would be 4K and the other half would be blurry. It would just be at most maybe 1 minute of blurry footage added to each movie
No one could ever pass up the final chapter best soundtrack part six is second but I love the final chapter and part six

I think my favorite is part 7 I just love the battle between Tina I think her name is and Jason I haven’t watched all of them yet I still have to watch Jason Goes To Hell, Jason X, and I’ve already watched the 2009 one but I’m watching all the movies sooo yeah also I can’t watch Freddy Vs Jason yet cause I haven’t watched Nightmare On Elm Street yet so yea but so far part 7’s my favorite
HELPFUL HINT: If you own a PlayStation VR headset and a PlayStation 4, you can use the headset and watch 3D Blu Rays IN 3D. This is the main reason I bought my headset: so I can watch this in 3D any time I wish.

cinestalker just to make sure, literally the first thing I did with the headset when I bought it was play my 3D copy of Star Wars Force Awakens, especially since I saw it in the theaters in 3D. It’s everything I remembered it was.

Really?! So the only way to watch a non 3D TV set is on a headset like the PlayStation VR on the PS4?!
@@Seras99 if you want the 3D version yes. But it’s a “hybrid disc” so there’s a 2D version on the disc as well and on the main menu it’ll ask you to select which one you want to watch.
This box set is a dream come true for every Friday 13th fan, love the art work too.

I'll have to pick this up. I always loved the Friday the 13th movies too. Though I wasn't crazy about Jason X either. Which is kind of funny in that, right now, it's the only F13th movie I actually own on DVD or bluray.

Thanks for the unboxing Danny! It looks amazing. Best memory of loving this series was the countdown during the summer of 2003 as we awaited to see horror legends collide in Freddy vs Jason that august. I’ll never forget that amazing theater experience! Wish we had gotten part II of that.

What's funny is that I always felt that Freddy vs. Jason was always more of a Nightmare movie than a F13 movie.
It does have that vibe with Freddy in everyone’s head
It is essentially a Freddy film in mood and structure, with rival guest Voorhees doing most of the killing.
@@opaque4742 what I find weird is that the Nightmare Blu-Ray collection does not include FvJ. Or Remake. Really hope Nightmare gets a proper release. And Scream. We have yet to have an uncut version on Blu-Ray.
@@TastyChurro Yes, that is strange. FvJ belongs in a nightmare set. There should be consistency with box set releases for these franchises. Maybe they will pay more attention to that if this set sells better than older ones

The reason Kane Hodder wasnt used for Freddy vs Jason was because Kane is apparently kind of short and the filmmakers wanted Jason to tower over Freddy. So they cast Ken Kirzinger who was a respected stunt actor and is 6'5'' so he could look down on Freddy

I bought this for 150$, Jason goes to Hell and Jason x are so rare on Blu-ray they actually had mess ups in them I had to get replacement discs. But it's a beautiful set.

Oh I'm they probably will, but to me it was well worth the $100 as I upgraded from the old 1-8 DVD box set. It's possible this set could also be worth a ton of money in 5 years like the Halloween Bluray Collection. When I discovered my Halloween set now goes for $700 or more I was shocked!
Still halfway hesitant to drop the money and buy this boxset! I know I'll absolutely appreciate it once I have it, but the only huge draw for me is the uncut kill scenes from part 2. Now if they somehow found that the uncut version of The New Blood wasn't destroyed and they included that, I would've immediately preordered it! I already have the entire collection on DVD, so that's the main reason I'm not too desperate to buy it right now. My favorite movie will always be the original because it is the movie that got me obsessed with slashers.
I know how you feel, I wish they had a uncut version of part 7 and they found that footage that’s prolly destroyed. That would of been the best! It’s a great set this is but if you have the previous Blu rays of em then your fine. It’ll be cool if all the films got a 4K transfer someday then I’ll say get that for sure but this one is good cause I just had em on VHS before n dvd so it’s a upgrade for me and the extras are cool.

I´m very happy for you. However, I don´t see the appeal in FRIDAY THE 13TH and Jason as a character in general.
I always was a fan of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST. series.
Still, I own the collection on DVD when they came out but that´s about it.
But then again, very, very happy for you. I know what it is to be a fan of something and get these incredible editions.

Great unboxing as soon as I saw the alternative covers I flipped them around. The titles on the spines of the alternative covers are the actual title fonts. The spines of the regular covers are all the same font.
I’m almost tempted to buy this set now that I’ve finished watching this video. Great job reviewing all of the contents and packaging. The collectible posters look really cool!

I really wish they'd release Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X separately on Blu ray. I got the 8 movie Blu Ray collection for $20 a while back and I have Freddy vs Jason and the Reboot on blu ray as well for $10 total. As much as I love the franchise, this set is just too much for me for two movies.

Don’t know what they are talking about on the OPENING CREDITS of FRIDAY THE 13TH part III in Real digital 3-D from SHOUT FACTORY. Shout made no mistake and did it RIGHT on the original blu ray . NO need for correction or a re-placement disc. I was a motion picture projectionist for 30 years and ran this Film . and this how the title card was designed… [CROPPED FRAME] Jason is in full 3-D on the last shot of him lying on the shed’s floor and grabs his knife there is a cross-fade [ NOT a SPLICE ] to the mother’s head…
THE MAIN TITLE POPS FROM HER EYES in FULL 3-D …title stops at mid-way…
Then comes right at you popping over your head. Done right …then cross-fades [NO SPLICE] to the rest of the credits ARE POPPING but they have to stop at mid-way for sharpness done right . watch this title card 3-D segment on a digital projector 200”screen size and all the credits are popping off the screen in the right fashioned
NO NEED FOR CORRECTION.

i love the box art!, but i feel like they didnt put much effort into the movie covers, they look plain and dull. I think each movie cover and or packaging should have had their own art covers, like the outer box set. overall tho. its a nice set, i might have to pick this up, even tho i already own 2 of those movies on stand alone blurays,

Part 5 cover art is from the Australian VHS. Honestly its a lot better than the hockey mask cover.
