Great Sat Chat again. Very excited about a 30 day course on just watercolor. As for occasional grumpy moods, sometimes you can give yourself permission to have them, and then you are over it and can move on to the optimistic times. First, Happy Anniversary. Lindsay, my summer is always busier and I am sure lots of folks are outdoors more and spending time with their kids. Purge craft supplies, never! Given lots away, but solid beginner things for people who are interested in doing crafts or are in need of things. Happy Saturday! Must be something in the air, I too am just pulling myself out of a funk that was lasting too long. All energized and excited to be creating again, I hope you continued to feel better after recording and enjoyed a wonderful anniversary! I had been thinking of you this week because I need to get with you and give you the other colors I have in the D.S. Gouache. I will message you, might be nice to have a sampling of all the colors when you do the full review. I can’t wait to hear your opinion of them. A 30 day watercolor class sounds fantastic! Regardless of your numbers, you are my favorite UA-cam channel and Sat Chat is the first thing I look for every Saturday morning! I've also enrolled in several of your classes and I'm just LOVING 30 days to better painting! I'm learning gouache and have seen so much improvement in my painting! Sometimes we have to have down days to realise how lucky we are on the good days. Dont beat yourself up, it must be so hard to have to be "our there" and "public", i couldn't do it. I think youre great.

Embrace the struggles. Then let them go! I have been wasting time on silly stuff on social media platforms. My time goes fast too and only a few things beside normal daily stuff get done. So yeah too much time on social media and talking to people as I walk my dog. I am finding out it’s better not to talk to them. Actually one person. A bit of a gossiper and it brings me down. So I will find another street to walk down as she sees me and comes out to talk I have to pull my dog as he likes her attention but hard to get away. And I give my dog 3 good walks a day! 😂. Happy satchat! well we all have those days when we are out of sorts. I usually look to nature to pump me up again. I was at your last michaels class and signed up for the next! 30 days of watercolor. Yes I’m interested. I thought the last 30 days but it’s on my mind that I will do it probably next January. I’d like to do the whole month in gouache which I’m very interested to learn to do better. Mostly I just paint watercolor and cards are my favorite medium for that and then oil paint. Oh, and happy anniversary. Don’t worry about summer. Most people are away and not paying attention because they’re out and about. Have a great week and thanks Lindsay

English is not my first language, so watching videos like yours actually help me a lot to practice that. I think we all have days when we're moody/grumpy and we have to let ourselves have these days - we can't be happy and cheerful all the time.

Ah, nothing like just getting it all out there into the universe, purging all those random thoughts that are binding us up, to lighten the mood. Don't know why, but I usually feel so much better just venting about stuff, good and bad.
This Sat Chat spoke to me on all the levels today. LOL I am right there with ya on the "not enough hours in the day" thing. I have SO many things I have to and want to do, but I still manage to get side-tracked on UA-cam. However, I justify it because the majority of the videos I watch are educational, like gardening, homesteading, bread making, fermenting, and of course, art tutorials. Although I do admit to watching fewer of the later category right now, as I'm am re-visiting skills and practices from my childhood (the former things mentioned). So yeah, definitely not enough hours in the day!

Hope you and Jason had a great anniversary. You said talking to the camera making you feel better was crazy but I think debriefing is always helpful and you know we are listening sympathetically when we watch. We all have those miserable days. Sometimes painting, or a walk in nature will ease it, other times we just have to ride it out. None of us would know just from watching your smiling face and hearing your upbeat tone. I'm glad you can share with us and hopefully find some refuge here.

I absolutely love the what is this and why did I buy it. It is so fun to watch you during those videos that you have already done. So sorry you feel grumpy today. I hope your hubby can hug that mood right out of you. My hubby and I just celebrated our 21st Anniversary on June 29th in Nashville. So fun! I am loving the 30days class. Yesterday was my favorite painting. Can’t wait to read what you think. I will definitely do a 30 day watercolor class. I have a few classes in the queue but it’s always intimidating me. I don’t know why because I feel like watercolor will be my favorite medium. I think I want to be good at it right away and know I won’t be that I am afraid to actually paint anything…. I love you Lindsay, you brighten my days so the numbers hopefully aren’t affecting you financially. Know that we are all here for you! I used to sell LuLaRoe on Facebook and got so burned out on Social media that I still hate going on because it stresses me out thinking about all the time I had to spend on it. Great goal for the trip - but don’t forget, when learning a language, one of the most important things is to practice speaking out loud, so practice talking (‘to the dog’ on your walks or whatever) not just understanding! Though understanding is critical too, lol! Don’t worry about the Summer slump! Everyone who doesn’t sell summer specific supplies or isn’t in tourism experiences it! Even churches! It’s not you!

I finally have time to watch Sat chat! Happy (belated) Anniversary & I hope you shook off your bad mood & all is well now💗. My 67th birthday is this Thur & our 38 wedding anniversary is next month (Aug 18th). Busy, but fun time. We went bowling on Sunday for my birthday with our daughter & some friends. Bowled terrible, but had fun!! And, happy birthday to me….my Grabie brushes were delivered today (thank you for the Prime Day mention about them). Can’t wait to use them tomorrow.

Lindsay, I can so sympathize with you. There are some days when for absolutely no rational reason I wake up grumpy. Sometimes I can improve my mood by going outside for a while, or sometimes petting my cat helps or my bible reading for the day. But sometimes it takes a while. I mean I have a truly highly blessed life so everyday I should wake up with joy.

Hi Lindsay, Happy Anniversary! I hope you're feeling better now, don't worry, I get days like that too! The 30-day watercolour class sounds great! Regarding the Michaels classes, I hope the following helps - I'm based in the UK and was able to sign up for the Derwent Pastels ice-cream class, but couldn't do the class because access was cut off. Looking back at my emails I signed up on 18 June, so the problem happened sometime between then and the class day on 14 July. I caught up with that one on their UA-cam channel, but can't sign up for the next one, unfortunately. Hopefully they will fix it soon. Thank you for all you do, you are very inspirational! 😊

Happy Anniversary! I have always mailed off my little paintings as cards. To shut-ins, for birthdays, even just to say hi or I miss you. Saves me from drowning in all this paper! I've gotten behind on home portrait commissions because of World Watercolor Month but I really feel painting for a challenge makes me a better artist. I'll have a letdown after it's over though. Enough of my first world artist problems! Hope your mood continues to improve and that you'll have a great weekend!

I love your propeller painting. I looked at the Michaels class and your drawing pattern is a side view rather than a straight on view like your painting. I like the front view better. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY 🎉
It's a straight on view (I traced my finished painting) but it does not fill the page because it is a pdf, the pattern is in the corner of the page, it's about 5x7

I am learning ways to cope with it. Thank you so much for showing me your masking tape palet for the Derwent Pencils. I have seen you use it many times. You described it well Lindsay. The days I feel out of sorts are the days where it feels like everything I need to do is taking 10x longer. I'm also a klutz on those days and drops things constantly. I've learned to be patient with myself as I've gotten older and just accept that it's one of those days.

I think we all have up and down days, often totally irrational and for no particular reason. I must admit I don't watch the news, I will read the headlines on the main BBC website here in the UK. However I felt it all a bit too depressing. I think I was one of a few that really did not watch it during covid. I just went about my merry way to work each day. Blissful ignorance I guess. But as you say, better for ones mental health.
I also have to agree for not enough time in the day. I now work part time and seem to have less time than ever! So annoying.

Happy Anniversary Lindsay! Sitting here in total grunge for Sat Chat today. Diesel leaked into our municipal water system from a generator running the water processing plant after storms knocked out power on TUESDAY. We were notified on THURSDAY, and told to use our tap water for TOILET flushing ONLY 😱. We know that the EARLIEST we might have water is tomorrow IF the fix passes testing late this afternoon. Then I imagine it will take hours for us all to clear out our lines. I may be getting quite cranky myself today, but we have 100 + degree heat indexes here, so…. I do hope your mood improves today and you have a great weekend!!

Good sat chat morning to you! Women are entitled to crabby grumpy days! The older I get, the less patience I have for...all the things 😂 I'm a very bubbly chipper person, so when I'm under a grey cloud, everybody knows 😬😅 A news fast is something I def need. When I'm not listening to wheel of time (s2 starts sept 1 on Amazon), I'm listening to pod save America, npr, talking feds, etc... I'm a political junkie. And there's no doubt that affects my moods 🤦

As for feeling a bit moody, life and a dash of hormones will do it everytime, you have a busy life and are very productive on the whole.We all go through phases of funks, glitches and just feeling plain fed up for no reason at all and it's called being human.I'm blaming pain and hormones on mine

Hullo Lindsay, I wish I was such good company when I am in a bad mood! You have been a delight throughout this SatChat! I purchased the Sennelier 12+6 set, but I wanted only the Sennelier branded palette so I purchased some tubes to finish filling out the palette and I did not buy unusual colors but 4 of the tubes are just not good! I did go back and look at where they came from and they are from China. I was disappointed that my French paints are now made in China😢
I have a routine for boosting my mood, no not lipstick. I get an actual hardback book and sit down with my friends from the mind of Robert A. Heinlein. He wrote several stories of young adult themes and I pick-up “Have Spacesuit will Travel” or “Revolt in 2001” any of these novella’s will boost my attitude. I even collected his short stories and I just feel better and I am much better for time spent with my old friends. Kip, Henry, even Lazarus can encourage me into a better day! I have been known to lock the door and paint some Tulips 🌷 just to do something that I can almost do with my eyes shut! I think those tubes might be fake, unless sennelier has some made for the Chinese market. All of Mt sennelier, even the student grade are made in France. Are you sure it wasn't cotman which is made in China? Now need to investigate!
As one of the four dudes of male persuasion (I'm sure there are more), I've never tried lipstick as a mood elevator. The only time I was in makeup was years ago when I worked as a clown for a kids attraction - a summer college job - and that was fun. The watercolor version of the 30 day course sounds great - sounds like just what I need. No pressure, you have a lot on your plate. Happy anniversary!

Oh! And I purchased your 30 days class and am doing it in watercolor :) I have some gouache but really I have just felt more drawn to watercolor. I’m having fun! Obviously the order of things I do is different but it’s still so fun to have the ideas and the “paint along friend”

GM Lindsay , my week has been pretty good , I played BINGO , which I haven’t done in years , and I won twice so I felt lucky 🎉 , I finished up sewing some kitchen curtains and catching up on chores , I bought some inktense paints on prime day and now I’m not sure how to use them 😆 happy anniversary enjoy your weekend celebrating 🎉
