Thank you; this is a helpful video. I love cilantro, but it does not love Houston's weather, so I am growing papalo this year for the first time to supply my kitchen for the other 10 months of the year. This helps me know what to expect. My seedlings are just started but I am also seeing poor germination; it is good to know that I should not immediately roast the person I bought the seeds from.
You think it's one of those unique flavors that taste different to different people? I love cilantro but papalo tastes like irish spring to me and the scent is strong... my Mexican wife and family love it though. she's very picky with food and I'm not at all which is weird. I'm gonna try and mix it different ways into meals and see if it's an acquired taste.
If you have lots of sun, it's not too late to plant if you do it immediately. You won't get a huge crop, but you should be able to get something from it still.
It does look somewhat like lambsquarters, but is not kin. Lambsquarters in the spinach family. I do not have any papalo seeds currently, maybe they will set seed this year (last year they did not).

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but your pronunciation is correct.
Very cool. I've really been wanting to grow this. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, that was interesting. I would have never thought of a plant with a fish like taste.
So try houttuinia.
It is like eating fish too

Is it kin to lambsquarter ? got seeds?

It is not kin to lambsquarters, which is in the spinach family. Papalo is in the ridiculously vast sunflower family.
do not have seeds, no. Try Southern Exposure seed company.
