Less than 14 % of the American Population commits more than 50 % of the Felonies in this country. So what about the Over 50 Years (1970-Onward) of Systematic Criminality committed by Blacks in this Country?
At the risk of saying something obvious: wisdom is not something you learn at school or university, its something you learn from life and Muhammed Ali is living proof of that. Thanks for uploading.
I grew up watching the Mike Douglas Show. I believe it was on Monday - Friday from 3:30pm to 5pm. I would get home from school to watch it. I learned so much! I loved Douglas' low-key, affable and inquisitive interviewing technique. His guests were always educational, inspiring and fun!

Ali, so seething. Sly, super chill and brilliant as always: “Where do YOU live, Brother?” All of today’s haters, preaching division and dumping on America need to be asked that.
The way Ali soften his tone with sly was amazing because he didn’t want to argue with a black man knowing fully that he could knock him out in a heartbeat

Jessica Fischer That was a very good question..No doubt..Ali is speaking the truth, about marginalized and oppressed people..But doesn't live, and rescind next to them...Like Malcolm X did..
Awesome show. It captures the times perfectly and there is great verbal sparring going on throughout, full of sparks but respectful and somehow gentlemanly.
Eddylee Chock Alvarado sometimes I think if we stopped bringing up the past and feeling Pissed at the things of the Past. We can experience in the Present if we're not Pissed at the Past. The feeling of the joy of being alive and the excitement of learning and growing is always felt in the heart in the body in the Present.
Remember , those artists , especially the ones from San Francisco, were heavily embedded in the drug culture. Watch Sly's interview with Richard Pryor on this same show. Sly felt much more comfortable in the company of a fellow druggie who shucked and cooned along with him.
akilmosq24 things are worse than ever no unity no morals killing each other babies having babies disrespecting each other and our pride gonr replaced with blonde hair skin bleaching and fatherless families
Sly earned his collage degree in musical composition. Also Sly seems to be peaceful and patient man without a political agenda. The remarks about Sly's drugged-up behaviour seem to be cliches & tired tripes. He's quite a young man here. Inexperience shows, to me, nothing more. Now it seems that in this interview, Ali ALIGNS with the writings of W.E.B. Dubois while Sly sees greater ultimate racial harmony from the writings of Booker T. Washington. I've scratched my chin about this dichotomy over the years... Both have a valid point. But which philosophy will forge a sustainable future.. i fall on Sly's side here.

One person says hey need a ladder to get out of here the stick will take a 1000 years . if you cant get a ladder then be on your way, I will find a way out. This is a very expository and free conversation undiluted by hate, bigotry or disrespect. Each of them are speaking their truths from their own point of view which undoubtedly had each learning from one another by virtue of this calm yet passionate exchange. If it reflects anything in terms of contrast with today's social climate, it could be seriously argued that we hardly allow this kind of exercise in free thought without attack or subjugation by way of the overly sensitized and the easily offended masses who invented an entire generation of trigger warnings, safe spaces and call-out culture. People can't even think anymore let alone express themselves honestly.
This is the type of media presentation that will never be seen again. Too many truths spoken. The status quo is dependent on the deception maintained by the US System of whyte supremacy.
Sadly--Sly was on the downward spiral at the time of this interview--(1974, I believe.) He's higher than a kite--and Ali knows it and is pissed--but he maintains composure.
Sly wasn't afraid of Ali. To see two strong brothers negotiate and debate with each other is beautiful like an opera. Ali said "I won't fuss with the brother on TV, that's the "nigga and fool show my brotha"...Sly says ain't no thang but a chicken wang, and "get yo hand out ma face!" with his stoned ass, looking Ali in the eye. Sly wanted to change the color of the flag..."over your head!" Very interesting interview and panel. I used to watch Mike Douglas with my beloved Grandmother.
Ali was really a leader in the struggle for human rights and at the forefront of it all just like any other respectable black leader in the whole world. He was hated by the majority of US citizens and endured hardship for being outspoken about his faith and the struggle. Fortunately he's now held in high esteem all over the world

They don't report the news, they try to brainwash you with their opions. Bernie Sanders is the man! Still Feeling the Bern, 2020, Baby!
Wow ! I must of missed this one.
Ali on fire!..Rings true to this day.!
Ali said it right Y'all got everything we got nothing now y'all want peace and harmony!
Sly is all love. Very inspiring.
Awesome! Sly V Muhammad is the best boxing I´ve seen

Made me chuckle!Thanks
As a white kid in segregated suburbia I grew up watching the Mike Douglas Show after school. He was on everyday at about 4 in the afternoon and he often had amazing combinations of guests and intense conversations. Remember there were only about 3 or 4 channels on the TV back then but they still managed to have real conversations like this on a weekday afternoon show. As corny as Mike Douglas seemed he had a wide variety of guests.
Ali a true legend, always straight on point
Sly was high af but the "where do you live" question was right on point
what did the question mean?
@sayitlikeitis 7:05 = Ali was in a rage .... could barely keep himself under control
I said "oop".
Every black person, rich or poor, should and must be anti pink.
Sly got him with that one
I never knew Sly was such a human being. How refreshing. Wish I could meet him today.
Life has not been kind to Sly. God bless him.
@@judilynn9569 last I heard he's been living in a small motorhome in front of somebody's house in Las Vegas the people kind of let him come in to shower or bring him food

J Mon lol
Heavyweight champion or not you're a man 1st regardless the potential opponent but luckily the 2 brothas wouldn't have taken it that far with one another. Nothing but Love.
Sly had balls of solid stone
It wasn't a wig. It was his real afro hair.
I agree a 💯 percent with mr. Ali to this day and it’s 2022… if people was listening and applying then things would be different now . 😩
Sly and Ali both had points.... but props to Sly.... "Take your hand out my face......."

👏😁👍
Back then Sly didn't give a Fuck who got hands, it's about RESPECT your brother. No real fighting was going to happen.
I like Ali but he was trying to bully Sly
@@johndoughnut9350 no Ali wasn't trying at all to bully Sly. You don't know Ali's character very well then.
Mr. Muhammad Ali ,to this day I still cry for the loss of this beautiful human being. There will never be another as great as he was.
Sly said "no you don't brother, I'll change it!" Hint: There's A Riot Goin on album cover
"I only care for the freedom and the unity of my people, everybody else has got it" Most Powerful Statement Of the Entire Interview Win for Muhammad Ali
When Ali points out systemic racism no one wants to hear it, but he was right.
Still exists today. And with all the so-called "freedoms of speech" that we have today , we have even less courageous spokespeople for black society. The new black media is making much needed changes to that .
Muslims were enslaving us
Less than 14 % of the American Population commits more than 50 % of the Felonies in this country.
God give you Wisdom !!!!!!
I see this, a healthy consistency is a virtue and so too is changing ones mind as more is revealed.
Where is Sly now?
You forgot he was brainwashed by Elijah Muhammad and his teachings, who Malcolm X knew was a hypocrit but Ali defended him.
What Ali said in this interviewed revealed just how ignorant and stupid he really was.
I love the fact that they're having this debate . . . still so relevant today. People with different perspectives, uncensored discourse.
Our brothers are catching hell and catching hell and catching hell.
I love my people❣️ Ali, Ali, Ali❤️❤️❤️
Sly Stone❤️❤️❤️ Mike Douglas had a good show.
Ali is my hero, he doesn't bite his tongue and speaks with confidence. Nothing but the truth, unlike some of the uncle toms they have speaking on tv today.
Word ❤
This trips me out every time I see this. Sly Stone, was just as "stoned" as the day is long. No pun intended. Muhammed Ali was just so HEROIC. I know he's resting in God's bosom. He served His person well.
that's what I love about Ali he didn't back down from s*** tell it like it is greatest heavyweight of all time
It’s 2019 & the political perspective of Ali is still true.
More so than ever with weaker black representation. The only uncompromising voices are in the grassroots New Black Media on the internet
Isnt that incredible. That shows you the treasonous behavior of our black misleadership that allows for the perpetuation of the abysmal state of black america.
Sly Stone came for Ali, but ypu cant take it away from Ali...Everyone came to this country starting businesses in my neighborhood and never gave a damn thing back...yes Ali said this 30 years ago!!
This got deep. Ali just went in.
Thanks for taking your time viewing this video, please share.
Ali, so seething. Sly, super chill and brilliant as always: “Where do YOU live, Brother?” All of today’s haters, preaching division and dumping on America need to be asked that.
The blood it’s built on disappears after that?
Glad to hear what he said without censorship. Ali mellowed in time. He is loved. I love Sly . . . hugz to Sly!
Yes!!! It’s 2022**** and The Mike Douglas Show, With Ali and Sly. Really Was An Eye-Opener..How Close Then And Now Is In Comparison to The Times..
Were do you live. Pow!
this is not the fight for sly. Ali was making a serious point. I have so much admiration for Ali. true true hero
Sly wrote 'Everyday People', I believe. He knew EXACTLY what was going on.
A riot...
Ali is too smart to be fooled he managed to know the truth religiously and politically. Only few manage to reach the bottom of the ocean of truth.
PREACH!!!!!!
always trust a man seeking the truth, NEVER trust one that claims to have found it!
Sly was high as kite. And had no fear of a militant Ali.
They don't make" brutally honest" shows like this no more
That soft spoken tone let him get so much further than anyone else...The greatest!
And we are suffering more to day, than then. I am watching in November 2018.
How are you suffering? And whose fault is it?
The way Ali soften his tone with sly was amazing because he didn’t want to argue with a black man knowing fully that he could knock him out in a heartbeat
Not just that he just didn’t want to show a divide between a fellow black man in front of the world

Awesome show. It captures the times perfectly and there is great verbal sparring going on throughout, full of sparks but respectful and somehow gentlemanly.
Sly said, "Let's be happy! Time for living."
Time for giving
Sly had no idea what was going on. He was completely blitzed

why you share lies , that's not true!!! Doris son was work in music industry!!! By the way Sly is much more than you can imagine!!!
They should have left him at home.
Remember , those artists , especially the ones from San Francisco, were heavily embedded in the drug culture. Watch Sly's interview with Richard Pryor on this same show. Sly felt much more comfortable in the company of a fellow druggie who shucked and cooned along with him.

11:46 Ali predicted the future!

Yep. And thanks for outlining it.
Seen many comments here siding with Sly. Here are my thoughts!!
You dig a hole a 100ft deep and throw them inside it. Then you feel bad and go back to the hole and throw a stick to help them get out.
One person says hey need a ladder to get out of here the stick will take a 1000 years
.
if you cant get a ladder then be on your way, I will find a way out.
The other says thank you for the stick this is great help
and we are great friends again, integrated!!!
Then you scratch your chin and think the other guy with the stick is right

Wow this was so powerful!!! All this information still rings true today!!!
Wow, look at the hands of Ali. They're bigger than Sly's face.
Watching on June 19, 2020. What the hell has changed since this was aired?
And he’s still alive surprisingly
GIT EM ALI.....
