I’ve been the proud owner of a 3T Exploro Pro GRX gravel bike for the past 8 months and I can honestly say that I’ve been incredibly pleased with this super versatile bike. Each time I take this bike over some new roads or trails I am reminded how at home it is on so many different types of surfaces. All-in-all I couldn’t be happier. If you take a look at my full review (listed below), you will see that my praise for the 3T Exploro’s design runs fairly high and it relates to (almost) all aspects of the bike. There is one exception to this statement - the rear derailleur hanger! In today's video I'll walk you through my frustrations with this design and talk about the updates that 3T made to the recently released Exploro RaceMax that address my concerns. Check it out!

honestly I think in the new 3T they forgot to consider that often we use a gravel bike in muddy conditions... and it seems there is too little room between frame and back wheel for me. about you: good review! 👍

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I can see how the reduced frame clearance will be an issue for some. The gravel in my area doesn’t get as muddy (more rocky & dry gravel). On my roads the new frame design shouldn’t give any problems, but it’s still to be determined how this frame will perform in places with lots of rain and thick mud. Something like the Mid-South/Landrun race will be a great place to put it to the test!

Great review. Love the bike. Is that clamp OK on the bike frame????

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I guess I should put a towel between the clamp and the frame. It has some rubber on the ends, plus I don’t tighten it down too tight as to damage the frame. So far so good. Good eye spotting that.

Will it be easier with the bike upside down on the ground?

That could be a good strategy when out in the field while changing a flat, but the loose hanger design is still very annoying to work with - upside or upright.

why didn't they just make a bolt to attach the hanger to the frame. so it doesn't fall off? it's so simple.
