I have been and currently am such an advocate for the mental health of men AND WOMEN..
But when I see shit like this, it really just makes me lose some faith in humanity. It’s not like I can delete that from the internet and act like it never happened. But the sole fact that there are men and women who exist who get off on telling people to kill themselves is just down right one of the darkest actions a human can do.
We should be motivating people to stay alive and to live their life the way they want, as long as they’re living. That’s the agenda I will go to my grave pushing.

I've been working on cleaning out useless items in his house and I recently turned up several professionally done porn movies on VHS. It’s really puzzling why people say these things and don’t give things like this thought; I completely agree that she had a double standard with men watching porn, but it goes a step further that she says men “should” kill themselves. Saying something like this is just wholeheartedly wrong for basically any reason, especially if it’s something that’s been excepted and in a lot of cases glorified even in our social media. There are some things to be said about porn and it’s moralities, but even then this should never constitute to suicide. It is exactly as Roma said that it would be the same difference if we were to say the same about women who also watch porn.

I've had my struggles with porn addiction. I have a 14 year old son and porn - given the culture and time we live in - is something we speak openly about. I'm not trying to shame others when I say this (you need to do you, and I'll do me), but I don't want to treat the naked form of a woman as simply a means to gratify my sexual desires. I don't want my son thinking that women only exist to fulfil a man's sexual desires. I don't want my son assuming that how men treat women in porn, is how women should be treated in real life. I don't want my son assuming that a woman will always be sexually available to him (even in marriage). By being anti-porn we're not suggesting that it's bad to have sexual urges, but sexual urges can be disordered. Women need to be seen and valued without the lens of lust.
That's a very thoughtful comment and way of thinking. Your son is lucky to have someone like you in his life to guide and teach him these things. During my formative years I was in a relationship with someone who was struggling with porn addiction and went down the road of thinking I was only there to fulfill his sexual desires. It's about 10 years later and I'm still unlearning in my current relationship that I myself don't exist strictly for sex, as well as the body image issues I developed from that experience.
