  • A compilation I decided to put together of my favorite videos with some great speeches...
I made this video 4+ years ago to motivate myself using other videos/clips found by other people combining it with a great soundtrack of speeches found in another video.
(The original owners of the clips are difficult to find since other people used other people’s clips in their videos, otherwise I would credit them since none of the clips/audio is my work except the way I compiled everything together from multiple sources.)

my dad really wanted to become a fighter pilot after he watched the top gun movie when it first came out( he was 12 yrs old) and he pushed himself and set a goal to come a fighter pilot. he pushed and pushed himself all the time and even took on extra home work to become really smart and become a fighter pilot. he graduated high school and was looking into coming a fighter pilot and he was going to go to another country to start becoming a fighter pilot but before he moved to that country i was born so he had to give up all of his dreams and help out my mum and take care of me, he never got to become what he had dreamed about for most of his life, so my goal is to become a fighter pilot and make my dad proud i am 13 and i am pushing and pushing trying to reach my goal and make my old man proud of me.

Woaw.. I'm really sad for your father. There is nothing sadder in life than not fulfill his deepest dream. But, you must know that this is your father's dream, not yours. If you do it for your father, then don't do it dude.. Your why is honorable, but you have to find your own path, your own way, your passion, your mission on earth ! As Steve Jobs said in the video "Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you TRULY want to become."

Jamie Stafford your father didn't give up his dreams. His dreams changed. Everybody sets out to do something and then things change. Your dad wouldn't give you up for anything in the world. Sure he may have wanted to be a pilot at one time, but he wouldn't trade it for all the moments he spent raising you and being with your mom.
Your dad will always be proud of you no matter what you decide to do. Just chase your own dreams not someone else's. And if things change along the way it's not about giving up, it's about what are you going to do about it.
You aren't the reason your dad didn't become a fighter pilot. But you are the reason your dad became the best dad he could be. Never forget that, life is about those who you love in life, about how you changed those around you, about the love you leave behind .... not about what you do for a job. You helped your dad live and love.
Now honor your dad by living your life the same way.

Good luck, Jamie. I wish you and your family the best in your endeavors. No matter which flag you fly under or whenever you fly, the motivation to take a stand and defend at personal risk is something honorable. Your father may have never been a Top Gun, but from what you have said I'm sure he is an awesome father. If I were your father, I wouldn't need to see you get your wings to be proud.
      Fly safe

I agree 110 % Pursue becoming a pilot or a whatever...BECAUSE You want to. Live Your Dreams....believe me, Your Dad will understand and still love you no matter what. I went into the US Navy to pursue becoming a fighter pilot. It just wasn't meant to be in my case...but, I still enjoyed 21 great years serving in the Navy and in the US Coast Guard, as an aircrewman and a Navigator on the C-130. When I retired and my daughter got older, I went to college and also earned my Private Pilot license. My daughter has went flying several times with myself and pilot friends. She mentioned that she wanted to be a pilot. I told her to do it ONLY if that is what she wants to do, not because I do it. Don't try and live other peoples dreams.....live yours to be truly happy in life. Best wishes....

Well, I went all out for my dream, I did every last thing to achieve it. I wanted to become a fighter pilot in the military. I didn't fit, they didn't take me. I can't reapply.
So I had to change course, try becoming a commercial pilot, and now I got accepted into the pre financed pilot trainig school for a major airline, starting in February '17. It was a hard road to take to try again, but at least I can live my second dream now.
Never give up even if you have to adjust your goal!

Im going to be a pilot no matter what others say. You might get bullied in school. Laughed about your looks or do a test bad. BUT DONT LET THIS GET YOU DOWN. Believe in your dreams. It doesnt matter about how you look or if you did that one test wrong. Everyone came here because they wanted to be a pilot. I believe in you. Im going to become a pilot aswell. I might be bullied in school or i might get a bad grade. But I promised myself i will be in that seat and I will fly that plane across the huge sky. If someone doesnt believe in you. Dont worry. I BELIEVE IN YOU! 👍BEST OF LUCK!!!

Time is going fast, don't wait for the "right" time. There is not enough time to wait for the "right" time. Go all out for your dream. My dream is to become an aerospace engineer specializing in astronautics and someday work for mission control at a space agency. These next upcoming years will be a perfect time for future fighter pilots. The US Air Force is losing so many pilots, in fact, aviation, its self is losing pilots. (If you're American), so work hard guys, because if you want to fly American fighters, now is becoming a perfect time.

Yes, now is a good time because the Air Force is losing pilots but why? The Air Force is losing mass amounts of well trained pilots because they are tired of being treated like shit in the air force and can get paid much better in the airlines. The Air Force is suffering big time right now in all aspects

No one in their right mind joins the military for some sort of pay grade. That's not how any military works. You do it because you want to do it, not because you want to be a part of a luxurious lifestyle and drive a Porsche around your old neighborhood. You become a Marine because of the brotherhood, You join the Army because it's something bigger than you. No one goes into the military for the sole purpose of pay, if you do, you will be discouraged and you WILL fail.
EDIT: Good luck finding a branch of service in any nation's military where hard discipline isn't a regular thing. (forced PT, demotion, overtime working, etc.)

Since them, I have been fighting so hard. I am 15 now and I am only .45 TSH from normal (from 6 from normal). I will fight this thing, no matter the cost. I’m starting to believe it myself however, as I’ve recently found out I have Pectus Excavatum (Sunken chest which limits my ability to breathe well). I’ll do whatever it takes, and I beg God every single day of my life to become a part of the USAF. These next few years will be rough, but I’ll do everything, EVERYTHING to achieve my dream.

My motto for getting to flight school is "Nothing Less, Than Total Success". This is what I demand from myself, everyday, no matter what. It doesn't matter if I'm just staying at home, at the gym, or at work, nothing less than total success is what I demand of myself whenever I'm doing something. I treat everyday, every minute, as an opportunity to reach that goal, whether its talking about flying, watching something about flying, or doing anything else to do with flying. Every minute I'm not doing something to forward this goal, is a minute wasted.

I am a 14 year old Canadian boy. I can't join the RCAF but I'm joining the next best thing: the air cadets. I am so dedicated to become a pilot that I even downloaded a flight manual on my phone. I even might try to get my math teacher (who was an aeronautics engineer) and my uncle (ex-fighter pilot and pilot for air Canada) and have them help me on the way. In 2 years I am gonna get my pilots permit. Niel Armstrong was a pilot before he became an astronaut. Look at every history book and you will find him. Nothing will stop me from achieving my dream. Nothing

I miss the days where I was chasing my dream of becoming a navy pilot. When I graduated high school I didn't have the test scores to enter the NROTC, so for a year and a half I busted my ass to improve them, when I finally had them, I was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic, and shortly after that, came the acceptance letter for the NROTC. Since then its been a lot of downs, working a job I'm not 100% into, having to live at home, this year I kinda snapped back though, I'm in school to become a nurse (I feel like all I really need in my life is to feel that what i did with mine benefited others) and should be moving to a bigger city with a bigger more focused school in about a year. I'll never find myself sitting behind an f/a-18 due to things I can't control, but I can still do a lot bigger than what i have been, and I feel like i do bigger than most people ever will with their lives. I'm back.

And being a fighter pilot is my dream and no matter what happens, I will become a fighter pilot. Don't give up on your dreams people.
Edit: a year later and I'm still watching this video. College tuition and debt keeps me up at night.... fear does kill dreams and my fear of failure is tough to deal with. But I make my fear of failure modivation to push my limits. Every day I doubt myself, but at the end of every day I know what I really want to do. I will continue to push myself...
    I will continue to update...
Life changes, and you have to role with it. I missed the ROTC application deadline and now my only other plan A is private or airlines. And in the end, I am at peace with that decision. # wish I could be a fighter pilot # at least I'm still a pilot

@@leov.8130 5 years later. 😂 I have 5 almost 6 ratings. I graduated college with little debt with the help of scholarships. I went civilian and it was the best decision of my life. I'm now a cfi, cfii at Liberty University training pilots which honestly is the coolest job ever. After building a few hundred hours I'd like to build some single or multi engine turbine hours either as medevac or forest service lead plane. I'm thinking I definitely want to go airline's but also there's the option to be part time FO for an airline and at the same time fly f16s for the AF reserve. It all depends on if I have a family by then.
What are you looking to do? Wish you luck brother!

My dad was USAF he guarded nuclear silos
    He is a guardian
All of his jobs were security, guarding, protection.
    I am also Navajo.
During WW2 The Navajo were code talkers for the US Army in the Pacific Front.
They went through discrimination, but they served.
The Code talkers and my dad are my biggest inspirations.
I want to become a fighter pilot.
I will push through everything to become one
I will do everything to become one
    I will not give up
    I may fall
But I will get back up
My dad got back up from his life falls
Loss of money, family, jobs, injuries.
He pushed through all that for me
I am only 13. But I will push through it all to protect my country.

I go up to the board in 9 months and if I don't get my pilot slot then I will later and will never settle for anything less. If you put your mind to it and don't listen to the people trying to bring you down anything is possible. Godspeed

Im gonna listen to this speech before every one of my school test. I want to become a fighter pilot when i can, there is some time yet, im only 15 years old. The only thing that keeps me down is my math and science results. sometimes i take a look at them, and then i think that they won't stop me from hunting my dream of becoming a fighter pilot. Also when i tell people that i want to become a fighter pilot, they just tell me ''like thats gonna happend'' etc. but that doesn't let me down either, i just listen to them and think that they are not hunting their dream, and they are going in the wrong direction of their life.
And even if i fail the test to becoming a fighter pilot i won't be sad because i atleast tried to become what i always have wanted to be.

It can be expensive, but keep this mind.. most new PPLs earn their license when they are in their 30s or 40s. Why? Because they need a real professional job to pay for it along with their other things in life such as a house/apartment, car, etc. Study hard in school now and become a successful professional then you'll be able to pay for your dream yourself. HOWEVER, keep in mind also that earning your wings take far more than money; it takes perseverance, hard work and planning. Good luck!

My dad grew up not well off. He graduated with an OP 1 and studied scientific maths at uni. He worked 2 jobs to pay for a pilots license while at University. The airforce turned him down 3 years in a row for direct entry pilot. 3 years he dedicated everything to become a fighter pilot. But like everything he proved that you can do anything as long as you have the mindset and ability. After 3 long years of constant rejection he finally got in and served 12 years in the RAAF as a pilot. I am currently signed for an AvWO in the Navy but I’ve decided that I have the mindset and I’m going to do what it takes to change over to pilot.

I served in the USAF and USN and was a crew chief on F-4 Phantoms in the USAF.....:) But my dream was to become a FDNY Fireman and I put it all into this. I would come home in the Winter after working construction in the day and run on the snowy and icy streets and go to physical training sessions. Then I took the toughest physical qualification test the FDNY ever gave and did well on it ! The competition was fierce.....I had to compete with over 10,000 other people to score high enough to even have a chance of getting the job. It happened and I spent 21 years on the FDNY and loved it. NEVER give up......go for what you want !

This applies to non pilots. I’ve been re-listening to this like medicine as needed over the years. Last December I came within a breath of dying spending weeks in ICU fighting like hell… not necessarily for my life but rather for my family who needs me and people who love me. I had to start over after decades of living. I had to “learn” to be alive again through pain worthy of Satans lair. I wanted to give up hundreds of times literally…. But I didn’t. I had to fight dark thoughts. Life is not fair! Guess what self, it’s never “fair”. Go another breath. Push through the pain. When the lights go out on a random Tuesday night and nobody is there to motivate, love or push you … YOU must find a way to take another breath and go forward one more time. Just keep knowing the sun will rise tomorrow and you have no choice in the matter. That sun brings pain, challenge and hopefully “hope”. Before you know it, 90 days has passed and you are still here somehow a little better than before. Just never give up no matter what. Never.

All of us are watching this video have dreamed about becoming pilots. I want you all to remember that, no matter how difficult it seems, there is always a demand for pilots, and people are always getting accepted whether in military or civilian roles. Remember that, people before you have been pilots. People after you will be pilots. You can be a pilot too. I am very nearly a solo glider pilot. It may not be a fast jet, but it sure as hell is more relaxing.

My grades are decent, but even though I get good grades in math I really struggle in it. This is my dream and I won't stop unless I physically can't become a pilot, or if they just say "No". Simon Brown math isn’t the key to success in being a pilot, average grades are good enough, yes before applying they will be looked at but being a pilot requires you to learn the controls of the plane, and how to fly in general do they teach you that in math class? No

Thank You for posting this. My son has started his journey as of yesterday. He is attending classes as the first step in the US Navy's Aviation program. For about 10 weeks he will learn and study before he begins his Flight Phase. Besides marrying my wife, I guess I did do something right. My avatar is a picture of both my boys. Without them my life has no meaning.

these motivational speeches has definitely move me in the right direction and has gave me inspiration to move on with my goals and dreams and to never give up it's not just about being a pilot it's everything it's whatever you believe in to work on to be your goals and dreams that's what it's really all about when you listen to the speeches

GUYS IF YOU DON'T MEET THE MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS YOUR DONE FOR, don't waste your time wanting something that's overrated.

Yeah no shit but most people meet the medical requirements. The Navy doesn't need you having a heart attack in their 60 million dollar airplane.

joined the Kansas air national guard, unfortunately I shattered my elbow and could only serve for a year. I have 13 hours logged behind the controls, I will always fight to be a pilot of any kind. this video is amazing

I love this. I wish that I could have taken this path, but some poor decisions in my life sidetracked me when I was young. No one to blame but myself. Major respect for the men and women that have the drive, determination, intelligence and resolve to do this.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I don't care if this was specifically made for fighter pilots, but I watched this before my Aviation Academy interview, which allowed me go in there with such drive and motivation. I dreamt of seeing myself typing this exact message and here I am with an offer to accept and fufill my burning passion. AGAIN, THANK YOU.

This year will be my first year in AFROTC and my first major step to becoming an American Airmen and reaching my dream of becoming a fighter pilot. I'll do anything it takes to make it and I will not fail.

I cannot be an RAF or fleet air arm pilot. My vision is not good enough, and my legs are too long to permit safe ejection. However, aircraft and engineering are my passions. If I drive myself today, I will make progress in my work. If I succeed in my work throughout the next month, I will exit a slump I have been in for two years. If I do that, I get my shot at a final year of study. If I push myself HARD, through that, and get the results I need, I will enlist as an Aerosystems Engineering Officer in the Royal Navy, and oversee the operations and maintenance of our Merlin, F-35B Lightning II, Westland Wildcat, Chinook, and Apache force aboard one of the greatest warships the UK has ever set sail, the Queen Eliabeth or Prince of Wales aircraft carriers. That's my current dream, and I'm listening to this every single day I need to hear it, from now, until I set foot on those decks.

I am going to do anything in my power to become a RAF pilot. I will spend my whole life working towards my dream to become a fast jet pilot and I will succeed . One day I'm gonna look back at this video as a pilot and think...I've made it, my life goal really did work out. Be positive and confidence don't let anyone tell you anything else because every one of you can become whatever your heart desires... never give up and I wish all of you the best in your future pilot careers 😀

I'm 14 and am an air cadet, and for years and years, all I want to be is an RAF pilot, and this video is telling me I CAN live my dream, that I WILL live my dream, and that is all I need for my dream to happen, and after going to the careers office last week and finding the path to lead me there has really helped me realize that I WILL be a pilot, and this video has doubled that feeling, will listen to it every morning.
