Think ahead and add some blocking for your outside cameras. The best time to add this blocking is when your house is being framed, some scrap wood is all you need to have a solid mounting surface for your surveillance cameras in the future.

Good idea, but not really necessary. As a security integrator, I know that residential security cameras weigh very little.
I always cringe a little when I’m installing some starlink cams to the soffit. Too many holes and hard to line up, not the mention the crumbly texture when actually drilling the screw >.> lol
@@brawea862 Doublesided tape. Clean surfaces with alcohol and stick them on.
@@FullCircleTravisI feel like that would only work if you live in areas without extreme summer vs winter temp fluctuations. You think the tape wouldn't just degrade after 2 seasons?
@AG-en5y
They attach trim pieces onto cars using double-sided tape. This holds up for years on cars in winter environments, even pressure washing. Have to use the good 3M stuff.
@@AG-en5y 3m make some crazy strong adhesives but i can imagine even that would degrade. I'd go with tape and screws.
And be sure to wake up before you start installing them.
Need to be put on the sides of homes too. A lot of thief’s are breaking in side windows now because they know the cameras are on the front and back. Always check doors and windows to be sure they are locked after a handyman or any stranger comes to do work on your home.
Have you ever tried toggle bolts?
Vinyl....vinyl ?
Oh well NO!
Great options - better than using CPI!! CPI Security was the WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE we’ve ever had.
I always lag those into my soffit with 10" structural screws.
I used to pop the ceiling and add some wood squares and put a screw through those. It helps.
I think the point is he is using POE which people are still oblivious to.
Nope. He is literally holding the separate power and video dongle in his hand.
@@luisderivas6005 That's just the camera that comes with the ethernet, power, and reset button ports, no? Doesn't he only need to connect an ethernet cable to the camera for PoE?
Lol I just got me some hollow door anchors and drilled into the soffit sheet metal and used that cause I’m lazy!
Purchased a hollow door don’t sound to lazy sounds more like Un smart in my jumbled opinion
@@jonathanbuford1793that’s the builder grade for most interior doors such as closets and bathrooms, what the hell are you talking about 😂
U shining today my boy
Note to self: Don't use vinyl siding for soffit.
you know they all asking for that Wireless Camera with wireless POWER
**Nikola Tesla has entered the chat**
It’s called toggle bolts :)
What is a VM, please? It's some sort of surveillance, what kind?
There's google mirrors, thermostats hooked up to Siri, Bluetooth hood vents with speakers, bidets that talk to you. All these crazy things Americans "need" have me putting blocking everywhere. I might as well just make all the walls with 2x12s solid.
You don’t need blocking to make that work it doesn’t hurt but you don’t have to have use grab tight go slow and add grab tight all the around and as soon as your screw grips put some on both set of threads with moist and dry paper towels on hand and some good tape and 2x4 with cloth for underneath support tape for up above take tape up warm water and abrasive sponge will take away any tape marks and if your soffit comes down it won’t be due to that and if you don’t have framing in all your corners then Ummmm that’s a warning sign that a lot more will be wrong hire yourself a house inspector with good ratings I suggest this for anyone it’s nice to know about problems as if sOme get older will cost a heck of a lot more like a $100 fix now vs $5,000 fix in a year and more damage with more time small leaks don’t always show where it’s easy to see so go undetected and as anyone in remodeling should tell you when asked about price is there’s no way I can tell you until I open the area up to see what damage has been done unless they tell you an hourly rate+ mayerials
This guy will make you build a block house lol
Lol just tape an 80s camcorder to your gutter. That thing is gigantic.
Use metal Toggle bolts, work perfect
What the heck is blocking! Geeze!
I’m not gay or anything but the whole time I was staring at this guys eyes 👀
