The game actually doesn't delete your file, but makes a text file next to it saying "I really tried to delete this file, but I couldn't. If you hounor the game, delete the file yourself." It gives you even a archivement for it!
You know the kacyee hobbies ghoul in act 3 saying that she can clear the ice with fire and P03 laughing from that interaction just goes to show how sadistic P03 really is
You mention that each match is dependent on the hand you get. A common strategy to avoid this is to not add unnecessary cards to your deck, keep it as small as possible. That way you only get the cards you want. Loving this series.
Might have selected a NSFW private pic and had a chuckle at it in the second playthrough... Wonder what monstrosity would selecting a video do...? (Image/thumbnail and sound in background lmao?)
Daniel Mullins' games have a tendency to make those crazy PC wall breaks where it reads your files. It obviously never has true access to overwrite or delete anything. If I'm not mistaken and you do let that card die the Archivist tells you that they cannot delete it themselves and ask you to do it on your own, which then will give you an achievement if you do it for real.
FWIW, it could absolutely delete the file if it wants to. You don't need special permissions on the average Windows PC to just nuke random files. That is how malware works. I imagine the only reason it doesn't, is because that would really be a bridge too far for what is ultimately just a game.
@@BinarySpark It totally could, a file manager is not much different from a program save for the inherent purpose of entertainment in the case of a game, and actually deleting that stuff may not get him in a lot of trouble because it warned players exactly what it was going to do, but it would've been a dick move if committed to the idea. I think it's good enough of a compromise the way he actually implemented it.
On the plus side, you don't have to worry about it at all on the console version because it makes fake version of Luke's computer, not your own file system. I guess that also kind of both ads to the immersion but also drops the shock value a little bit
when i got to the 'choose an old file' bit, i scrounged around in my drives and found my sister's old resume from 2013 and got the response 'truly venerable' or something along those lines, it came out as a 4/4!
I could be wrong, but the thing about the sigils not all activating at once, with the specific example being the shield bot with the spikes, should only be true with that example because the spikes proc off of damage, but the shield prevents damage in the first place, not letting the spikes proc
42:30 I'm glad you "took your time". Honestly I think you might rush yourself too much thinking that the audience will get impatient quickly, but I find it enjoyable to watch somebody think things through and I think others do as well. So IMO please don't feel afraid to take your time to think things through, I think it's more fun for both you and the viewer than brute force attempts, and also hopefully it's less stressful for you as a youtuber. Playing games, even on youtube, should be fun and not stressful. :)
Thanks for this :) . As you've got quite far now, I'd like to request you think about looking at Felmmonade 's Inscryption videos when you're done. They were actually one of the people that solved a some of the more obscure final secrets, even conversing with the creator and actually uploaded a video on the last console-only secret quite recently. They also have a video on the real world ARG, which is a really cool inclusion that the creator has done with 3 of his games now. Of course, if you want to try and find some more secrets yourself, by doing more playthrough, maybe stick to the ARG video for now, but many of the hidden things are so in depth that it took communities weeks to months to decode them, so unless you really want to try and do that yourself, combing through visuals, files and websites, I'd really recommend checking out his videos, especially as he's a primary source for some of the discoveries. (It was kind of a low point when Game Theories repackaged his videos. Especially as apart from Inscryption, they're a smaller channel, so this was big for them.)
The audio in The Acrhivist's theme contains a message in Morse Code. It translates to "B-I-G-E-A-R" Big ear. Which is not nonsense. If you know, you know.
Amazing playthrough, loving it, but his misunderstanding of how the abilities work is very unfortunate. Missing out on a lot of card potential simply because his first combination of sigils don't mix how he thinks they should. Also he hasn't realized the waypoints are fast travel yet.
@@Neopolis3 Fishbot would have dealt 1 damage, bringing him outside of SON1A's death range. Fishbot could've then destroyed the Explode Bot, the Shield bot in his hand could destroy SON1A and a single vessel would've been enough to stall Hobbes. Granted, this is what my plan would have been given the board in my turn. The QU1LL at the end would have meant certain death anyway. Technically, using the barrier item would have saved even that, but nobody's gonna think about it in that situation.
Thanks to small-minded lawyers who can't appreciate ART, the game isn't actually allowed to delete files, but there is an achievement if you show honor by deleting the file yourself.
i'm actually glad it can't i would have lost some really important files 😅

Small-minded lawyers? Really? People can suffer catastrophic loss from the deletion of files. It's not bEcAuSe LaWyErS, it's to prevent actual harm to real people.
Lol, it's not really about open mindedness. It's more like if the user chose a file that could break it's computer. (because the file systems are usually the older ones) or if the user chose a file that could actually put them in a lot of trouble (say... a work file that they work weeks on). Or even a bitcoin files or whatever. If the game was allow to actually delete those file it could cost a looooot of money to the user. So.. the gale does the next best thing. it make you THINK it can. It's the same rush for someone that don't know (until they know).
After watching you start this, I decided to buy it for myself. I was playing on Console though, so for the archivist boss, it uses "TheLuckyCarder"'s computer files. I was kinda curious how that'd work, so there we are.
There's also a console only secret the was only recently discovered, when the creator admitted it hadn't been found yet. Flemmonade made a video about it only last week. I'd really recommend all his Inscryption videos, he was very involved in discovering all the insane secretes the creator is known for hiding in his games, as well as the real life ARG.

I love this boss, you should watch some reactions to people freaking out when they put an actual valuable file on the line for deletion!
Lmao that's exactly what I did in my playthrough XD, i was prepared to alt+F4 the moment i realized I lost
I picked the oldest file I could find, older than my entire PC- a critical windows file in System32
I was SWEATING
Of course, they don't actually do it. But they do tell you to do so yourself
Markiplier was VERY sweaty, check his out it's hilarious, it was a file that without it he couldn't run his computer anymore.

Loving this series.
iirc choosing an image file in the archivist fight does replace the art on the card, but I'm not aware of any other special interactions.
Huge Files will give a higher power, up to 8 for Terabytes.
Choosing an image file for the file size one turns the archivist's face into the image, displayed on their screen with a CRT filter applied to it lol
Audio files will play the audio as either part of the music or a looping sound effect, iirc
Might have selected a NSFW private pic and had a chuckle at it in the second playthrough... Wonder what monstrosity would selecting a video do...? (Image/thumbnail and sound in background lmao?)

I thoroughly enjoy Luke’s videos omg - he’s such a fun character
when i got to the 'choose an old file' bit, i scrounged around in my drives and found my sister's old resume from 2013 and got the response 'truly venerable' or something along those lines, it came out as a 4/4!
2019 files also give you 4/4, so the game is very forgiving xP.

Exactly. Basically, the shield prevents the card from being struck.
Aww you should have chosen an image file, it would have appeared on PO3’s face.
I think that might be the Blank Canvas rather than the Archivist, but I'm not sure
Audio files are also played I thought, but it didn't work for this one
I was wrong, it was this one. The immage and sound files only worlk if you use them in the 1st phase though
This entire section has been offering him no energy bots and no energy sigils, it's downright cruel
also just realizing he traded away the energy bot it gives you by default, oof

I’m so glad I get to see you play this game for the first time, it really cool
Remember: as you keep adding cards, you bloat your deck, which decreases your chances of pulling the vital cards.
Thanks for this :) .

“I am fish?”
- Fishbot, 2023
I bet you didn''t expect a crossover with Jedi Survivor when you started this playthrough. 🤣
its kinda fun how having only one type of a 1 cost card makes it so u always get it in your starting hand

I don't know.

He actually stated they are fast travel when he unlocked the second waypoint last episode, so he must have forgotten haha.
Was hoping this would drop before I went to sleep!
I've aften wondered if Mapo creates his own intro art, I think I know the answer now! What an interesting young man you are Mapo.
Botopia? More like BUTTopia
...
uh...
Anyways
Mapo your facial expressions are extremely entertaining ❤
You know it's gonna be a good episode when the beanie returns ;)
So fun fact: when Hobbes Crash came back, you just needed to swap Fishbot and the Empty Vessel's positions to survive
Why? Wouldn't he still have died to SON1A?
@@Neopolis3 Fishbot would have dealt 1 damage, bringing him outside of SON1A's death range.

Yes, if you chose an image, it would actually display 🙂
Video game or video files for sure 😅
Yep, I went into my steam library to get some hefty game files that were like 20-25GB.
Thanks to small-minded lawyers who can't appreciate ART, the game isn't actually allowed to delete files, but there is an achievement if you show honor by deleting the file yourself.
I'd say it's for the best games aren't legally allowed to do that... That could cause issues.

When the bot asks for old file in second round, why is he looking for big file instead? I don’t get it
Kinda sad you didn't finish everything in chapter 2. Like the mycologists could had given you OP cards
Misplay only speedrun (any%)
I would really recomend looking up the true ending for the game
sometimes you focus too much on defense
