I highly recommend spending a day with Chris Willen, he is a hardcore musky man and a great guy to spend the day in a boat with. I would suggest using fly rods over conventional gear though as it is his specialty. He is one of the best musky fly fishing guides in the business.
So cool - love catching those river fish. I prefer river musky over lake musky any day. Shallow water, rapids, nice head shakes. Absolutely awesome. That big one really was a dinosaur - glad she swam off to be caught another day.
The musky aren't the only things getting hooked. I've been watching all the uploads since I discovered the channel a month or so ago. Awesome videos!! Big fan up here in Toronto, Ontario!
Loved the video guys... Being from Scotland musky's ain't a fish we can target.. hopefully get across the pond some time for a go at them! Got yourself a new subscriber
you guys have way too much fun... really cool to see the passion and excitement, and the info. and explanations are clear and understandable. the fish and colors are beautiful! I'm still hung up on the killa' editing and muzik picks. wonder if you could give mention @ the bottom to some of the track titles, or maybe some links...? Keep Enjoying The Fishing & B~EZ
Oh it hurts my heart just a little to see you guys on a float with Chris Willen without throwing some big streamers on a fly rod. He’s the master of musky on the fly.
Lee, had the Midas touch on that day. Every cast, fish on!l That was awesome. That big muski e looked like a zombie with the bad eye and beat up tail. She looked like an old fish. Poor Robbie, looked like that fish scared the crap out of him. I laugh every time I watch him, always says or does something wacky to make laugh.☺ Another cool video by the boys! Great job!👍
You know it's a good day when you can't remember exactly how many fish you've encountered. Really good footage and action and good crew. Keep up the positivity! Subscribed...
River fishing is the only muskie fishing I can do. It's all I'm used to dark dark and fast water, and rocks here in mid Wis we should get in touch and hopefully we could work something out for next summer? Me you and Lee would be amazing! I guarantee fish pm or however it works on youtube!
You should remove the front set a treble hooks from your rigs. Most fish gulp the lures from the back while chasing and the front set only foul hooks them in the face while they're fighting and damages their eyes from time to time. The "River Monster" that you caught looked like it had a damaged left eye. None of my rigs have all the hooks in them; only the rear set. I don't lose many either. If you love fish and fishing like I do, try not to hurt them. Remove all but the tail set.
Nice fish! I think that might be very cool to get one of those, but if I would fish for them I would use a smaller equipment. Here in Brazil we use smaller equipments than these ones even to fish for big peacock bass. Did you ever tried to use a smaller rod with a smaller lure? I'm talking about some lure with 5" or 6" just like a propeller lure that we use at Amazon's river. I think it could be a lot more fun.
Sure, we catch them on smaller gear. Musky don't do well with long fights, especially in warmer water and can die easily. They also love huge baits, that's the reaso for the heavy gear...not the fish.
At first I was like Robbie come on man use them muscles, but then saw that is was a big ass sturgeon lol good video. You guys should try doing a fly fishing float with him.
@@TodaysAngler what would you say is the best musky rod for the monwy from them? I was between the swat and a shock and awe both in 9'6", would you say one is better than the other
They are from the same Esox family but are a very different fish with a much more limited range they are found. They are more of a warm water species where a pike is more of a cold water. Their habits are much different too.

I absolutely cracked up laughing 😂 at 18 .30-35mins

Not true with the whopper plopper they bite the front hook and the back one gets the eyes
When Lee curses on camera...you KNOW its a big fish! haha

Thank you!
That sturgeon kicked his ass lol

Trilene (Lee)
Thanks
Would you prefer chaos tackle over the saint croix legend tornament musky?
Yes and reasons:
-Specific actions for easier casting
-longer handles
-stainless guides won't chip
-telescoping options
-price point
@@TodaysAngler what would you say is the best musky rod for the monwy from them? I was between the swat and a shock and awe both in 9'6", would you say one is better than the other
@@erikhawrylo3810 the 9'6" swat would be the most versatile other than throwing giant baits like Monster Medussas.
@@TodaysAngler thank you for all your help!! And i see your throwing tranxes on em, what size are they!!??
400 and 500
How long was the piano wire leader ?

which reel you are using ?????
Shimano Tranx 400 or Calcutta 400te
Wooww amazinggg saltwater
That last fish, I wish they netted it.
What river?
That fish was so old it didn’t have any teeth! Wow!!
That was dope! Any advice for selecting where to fish for musky in rivers?
Near deepest holes late season
@@TodaysAngler thanks!
Super like
Doesn’t seem to be much of a fight or playing of the fish? Is it possible to tackle too strong?
You don't do that with musky. You want to quickly boat them and release.
The heavy gear is more for the lures...most of them are 1/4 pound up to 1 pound. Need a heavy rod/line for them.
Sem chances para o peixe, material pesado, captura muito rápido, não tem muita emoção.
The color
Robbie's face on that bite....
Or should I say, snag.
"The fish of 10,000 casts" my ass!!!! I've never caught a single musky in my life and you guys are landing these like sunfish.
🤣
19:34 IS THAT A SHAKKKKK??????????????????
WTH
Wish that wasn’t a $100+ lure... hahaha
Yeah, understand.
Mais gg à toi
is a musky a pike in a order colour
They are from the same Esox family but are a very different fish with a much more limited range they are found. They are more of a warm water species where a pike is more of a cold water. Their habits are much different too.
How much would I have to pay you for a spot like that?
Just hire Chris! His link is in the description.
