Short answer, no. You will prob wind up with not enough space on the axle to wind the extra 4’ of cable. Once you buy it you can do whatever you want with it, at your own risk. The secondary cable is a backup, but it isn’t even tensioned under normal use.
Got it. I might give it a try. My plan would would be to leave the extension hang below and only lift up to whatever the manufacturer intended (I think 79 inches). That would get me approximately two foot from the ground. the hardest part might be cutting off the eyebolts as they look to be permanently attached to the cable?
@user-pc6wm1uk7y if you do buy, I have a code that will help you out in a more recent vid. Just get a female to female threaded insert to connect your “extension” section to the existing.
how did you level the rack? Ours is installed but the rack is not level, wondering what we missed!
The attachment point from the cables to the rack is threaded and has a nut on it. You can use that nut to raise/lower each corner as needed.
Thanks for posting this video. Is there any reason I couldn’t extend the wire by around 4 foot? I have a 12.5 ft garage.

These were made for 9 ft ceilings.
Mr. Dobavila
Come do my garage next? 😊
Gladly. Is your garage over 10.5’ tall ceiling?
@@Jordan.Is.Novicemine are just under 10.5. Think it will work? Their site says up to 9 feet. Thanks for the great video!
