First time I tried celestial I saw a guy walking around with fire around his character. Had no idea I was going to get curb stomped by the #1 faust in NA
@@thegodofallakira6349I've been nervous to compete in online tournaments despite really wanting to because of feeling unworthy, this however makes me feel a lot better
Pro tip for pot, I need to spread this one around: ALWAYS mash pot buster after a blocked Fafnir; 95% of the time it works every time. Does wonders for Pot v sol until they adapt. Works on God tier sols too, did it several times on nbnhmr's sol. Stay strong pot bro.
I'll try this out more. I know I have done this before to Sol in the past, but then have gotten punished for it after. I'll hit the lab and see if it actually works against his moves he would use after Fafnir. Appreciate the tip!
@@therealperfectname Fafnir is +11. Sol will punish you for mashing Pot buster in a fafnir blockstring. Sol's who don't do the real frame traps, sure, but any non-beginner Sol will blow you the fuck up for trying that. Remember, Sol can damn near TOD you in one combo on CH. It's a netplay tactic.
I mean, it can happen at times. The Celestial Floor is the most divisive in matchmaking with how big the skill gap is inside there. I've seen Celestial Nago's that always pop while sometimes you would see a Floor 9 Nago having more discipline at the Park. There were a lot of bad Potemkin Players when I was watching my friends do their Celestial Trials, but in rare occasions there are Celestial Pots that are just absolute monsters. It honestly depends who you're facing i.e. if they know the MU or not since this game is very MU heavy.
Yeah, to be honest I used to be able to get to celestial last year, but people are too good now. But there is a big gap between the good and great players in there
Pot is probably the hardest character to get celestial with. Unless you are perfect with your kara Garuda and Kara hammerfall then you won’t get tight enough meaty pressure to force any high level celestial to actually respect your pressure
I'm a Pot player and I agree. Especially kara Garuda. If you don't got those, you might as well stop playing Pot. But i have a small tip while you're still mastering kara garuda and STILL get a good pressure. Use 6K (the shoulder tackle). The mixup will always be 6K--> Garuda / 6K --> F.D.B. (the flick) / 6K --> Kara pot buster. Its a good mixup and a scary one. It can also put them in the Garuda jail even without kara cancels. You can just repeat 6K--> garuda if you feel like they are afraid to do anything or jsut 6k--> potbuster them. 6k--> flick them if you think they want to jump or stop your garuda. Once you master kara garuda, you can inject this mix up too so they wont get used to your rhythm. Pot maybe the weakest character in the game, but tierlists are erased when they are in the garuda jail.
I got into celestial for the first time with 1300 elo and I think that counts as bad. And no I did not cheat I just happened to run into pot and sin (sin had just come out). So trust me it’s half skill three quarters luck to get into celestial.
@therealperfectname you do what you can to win. Name of the game is adapt or die. At a competitive level, being able to abuse your opponent's weaknesses is huge and it has its place.
If you mean Potemkins heat knuckle, it can actually be blocked! But as you saw with this Jack-o it guard crushes, and pulls you down into an almost perfect grab range!
Absolutely because there’s no shame in picking even matchups instead of going against the lvl 6,000 ky that says that he’s playing the game for fun and that he plays a so called “honest character”
Since the moment i first saw potemkin in the cloud video for his song i knew that i wanted to main him. I will never be the best pot player but i want to be the best glue sniffer that I can be.
That Sol and Jack-O would give me a heart attack. I am trying Asuka for a little while, mainly because I really like his design and the gimmick he has, but I'll be sure to lab out those combos Jack-O did
@@toyota6985 That was their first match and the only hard knockdown in that round that put wake-up super in question. There was plenty of reason to assume she would do that considering she has the life lead and how react-able it is to Reversal a Meaty Garuda. The Pot wanted to play it safe because he had a lot to lose if he’s wrong, but it didn’t quite pay off in the end.
I think I was panicking a little. I think someone else mentioned that she could of wake up super me. From the looks of it I was planning on going for a meaty, which I still would of gotten hit from the super anyways
Yo you got discord? I’m tryina grind into celestial with chipp and pot is one of my hardest matchups on a personal level so it might be some good training (I’m floor 10)
Appreciate it man. I actually almost got there yesterday, but lost my last game. I'm so bad at the mirror, but I need to get better so I might take up your offer
@therealperfectname Its such a crap shoot, either you do matches against random guy who mashes DP everytime, or you go against the EVO champion 🤷 If you do end up wanting to take me up, I have the same name on di scord!
If you are lucky yeah, but there is no point in playing in the celestial floor unless you are good, you will find lots of really good ppl and many super toxic players, if you are bad everyone will destroy you and you will get depressed, i've been playing in that floor since the release, i have thousands of matches and I still consider that floor a headache
Seems like the skill level of players has increased ive noticed. Even the floor 10 players are better. Though i have also seen celestial players a lot more in floor 10s tho lol
The only match ups I avoid with Pot is Axl, HC, and Gold Lewis. I want to get better with the character so even if the match up isn't in my favor I would still like to be a better player. But you are right if I cherry pick people in celestial I might have a better chance in getting there
I think the jacko potemkin match up sums up perfectely why this game sucks. Jacko neutral: Back up , throw minions, jump in air and do projectile, run up 2k, run 2d. Thats the whole gameplan. And potemkin has a hard ass time dealing with it. No skill involved, its braindead as fuck. Jack-os will forever be one of my most hated characters. (And its definlty not because I played faust and potemkin)
Pick any character, learn something annoying, find a low level opponent (preferably another challenger) and spam that thing. You just need to beat 2 opponents.
