Our First Impressions of Kathmandu, Nepal 🇳🇵 (We Didn't Expect This...)

This is our first time in Kathmandu, Nepal, and today we share with you our first impressions and unique activities we experienced during our first day exploring Kathmandu.
During our first day in Nepal, we immersed ourselves in the city centre of Kathmandu where we would find Durbar Square. Durbar Square is a historical and cultural site in Kathmandu. As we came into Durbar Square, one of the first landmarks we visited was Kumari Ghar, home to Kumari or also known as the living goddess. We were very excited to potentially see Kumari, but we were told that not many tourist get to see her, and... to our surprise, we managed to see Kumari.
The beginning of the day was already unique, but there was more to see and experience. As we were exploring the local markets in Kathmandu, we talked with the locals to understand more about what they were selling, and as we were leaving the market, we came across a local who played music on a flute.
If this wasn't everything, as we were approaching Kal Bhairav, a local approached us, and after talking, he put on us the black and red tika, and showed Carol a prayer people do when visiting Kal Bhairav. This experience was unreal and definitely converted this day in one of the best days of our lives.
The last landmark we saw at Durbar Square was Gaddi Baithak, a palace used to receive important guest from other countries. As we were leaving Durbar Square, Nepalese locals approached us to know more about us, and that's something we love about Nepal, we feel very welcomed and love the people.

Visit swayambhu, Pashupatinath, Chandragiri, Bhaktapur Nyatpol, Patan Durbar square within Kathmandu Valley. I won't suggest going to go to hills like Nagarjun, Sundarijal, Chisapani etc during monsoon. But you can visit Budhanilkantha, Iskcon etc.Nepal is a land bounded by Tantra, one of the three procedure to connect to Deities which are Yantra, Tantra and Mantra.
