Who are Carma Adventures?!
We’re Carol and Max, the duo behind Carma Adventures! Max is originally from Spain, and I’m from Brazil.
We started this channel back in 2021 as a way to capture our adventures-a kind of digital memory book we could look back on and share with our future kids.
After a year of working and living in London, in July 2024, we left our “normal” life behind, packed everything into a storage unit, and set off on a crazy journey through Southeast Asia. A lot of people thought we were mad to quit our jobs just as our careers were starting, but we couldn’t imagine spending the rest of our lives being dictated by someone else’s schedule and dreams.
Our goal? To travel as much as possible, uncover hidden gems, and inspire others to live life to the fullest. What began as a simple backpacking trip through Southeast Asia quickly became a lifestyle, and now, we’ve set ourselves a new mission-to see the world before we hit the big 30!
Along the way, we hiked an active volcano at 2am, bungee jumped from the second tallest bungee in the world, and discovered hidden gems that most tourists miss. Carma Adventures is all about showing that travel doesn’t have to be fancy or complicated-it’s about the experiences, both big and small.
Big thanks to everyone who’s been following along on this journey! You’re the best! 🩵✈️🌏

We Tried to Explore this Terrifying Jungle in Thailand Without a Guide
Переглядів 2327 годин тому
We took on a terrifying jungle trek in Thailand… with no guide and only basic tools for protection! Staying at the incredible Khao Sok Legend, we were told there was a “private” mountain right on the property, filled with wild animals like king cobras, monkeys, wild boars, and even leopards. 🐍🌴 Naturally, we couldn’t resist the challenge! Armed with just an axe and a slingshot, we ventured into...

Thinking on taking a bus from Bangkok to Khao Sok National Park? In this video, we share our crazy and exhausting journey after seeing some terrible reviews on Google - we didn’t know what to expect! To our surprise, this bus took us from Bangkok to Surat Thani, and then from Surat Thani to Khao Sok. We say surprise because from the booking, it seemed to be a direct bus. Once we finally arrived...

    She asked if you were UA-camrs and you said yes. Having a “professional” camera is probably an easy tell as to if you are someone who films for work. They allow recording for personal use. This is not discrimination they would have allowed you to go in if you signed and followed the contract. Stop trying to paint the places you visit in a bad light. So entitled and rude to the staff who are only doing their job. Don’t think they came up with the rules.

    • @carmaadventures
      @carmaadventures 17 днів тому

      We don't film for work. UA-cam is our "book of memories" and some people watch and some others don't. We don't live from this. Is 90% of the population Instagramer for uploading posts to Instagram? Does that mean that that is your job? Are you saying that everyone that has a professional camera has a job taking pics/recording? If you watched the whole video we mentioned several times that we understand it's not her fault, and in several occasion we said about leaving but the lady continued the convo (not in a rude way at all). Yet again, we said it is a beautiful temple, and we recommend people visit it, but this video is mainly to record our experience and maybe other people that go with cameras and mics can be prepared.

    • @bstu1523
      @bstu1523 17 днів тому

      @@carmaadventures calling yourself a UA-camr implies you do it for work. Most of the population wouldn’t consider themselves UA-camrs even tho they use it. You even asked the worker “if we post a video and we are earning money from that video.” And when the worker said yes. You went no and asked for a refund. And just cause you didn’t say anything rude doesn’t mean you didn’t have a rude attitude. You continued to argue with her about the wording of the contract knowing she couldn’t do anything.

    • @carmaadventures
      @carmaadventures 17 днів тому

      I guess the difference is that we work hard but we don't do it for work. It's easier to say that we are UA-camrs rather than explaining that this video will end up on UA-cam. At the end of the day, if you read the contract it mentions ads. UA-cam places ads on your videos regardless if you monetise or not. We never said that the fact of having a contract is the issue, but we won't give ownership of our work to others and that contract also didn't make sense. As the lady said, we had a professional camera. No where in the contract says to single out people with professional cameras nor microphones (she also then added followers and subtitles which is also not in the contract). In fact, it says that even people taking still images and photographs and uploading it to social media would have to sign that. We were trying to understand why we were the only ones singled out when other people also had professional cameras, tripods, and were clearly taking vids. I don't recoil this conversation being heated nor angry, simply confusion from both parties

    • @bstu1523
      @bstu1523 17 днів тому

      @@carmaadventures the camera was a way for them to deduct that you might do social media for monetary gain. And the contact does not have to state what criteria they use to ask you to sign it. You said it yourself UA-cam slaps ads on your videos anyway. They might not want ads to run that don’t align with that of country or the temple and most UA-camrs have sponsored videos. And again you don’t have outwardly rude to be rude. You can be passive aggressive or dismissive the tone in you voice and your body language.

    • @carmaadventures
      @carmaadventures 17 днів тому

      I think the camera is something irrelevant now a days. I'm sure you have seen big and actual UA-camrs filming with their phones. When they claim the rights it means that all monetary gains (in this case non) will go towards them. but regardless, I think you read to much into the voice and body language. It is a conversation where we are trying to understand what's going on. But at the end of the day, to reiterate, this is our experience and we share it for other creators to understand what they will need to address if they wish to record at this location 😊

    You both are incredibly rude. If you can't afford something, just walk away. These people depend on what they sell for their livelihood. And why are you constantly judging and criticizing the locals? If you don't like it, maybe it's time to leave and return to your own country.

      Hi Sally, we have been travelling for almost 90 days now and we have learned that just walking away is not as easy as you may think! We appreciate your opinion and we haven't judged or criticised the locals intentionally, as part of our travels we like to share our authentic experiences and honest opinions in our channel. This is the longest we have travelled and we continue to learn about ourselves and other cultures and we will continue to share things that we enjoy and that we don't. Thank you for watching 😁

    Remember : when going to another country you much know who you are. You are travelers or the one who look for other people 's mistakes to criticize and judge. Should give that up not good for you. Understant ?

      Apologies for the confusion. We always respect and appreciate culture and people, but as travellers, we like to document and share our honest and authentic experience. We are lucky to be travelling and we like to spread positivity, sorry it came across the wrong way
