- After having a couple days off the bike, I head south to the Peak District via the wonderfull Yorkshire Dales, picking up a friend along the way!

Wonderful video, and a delightful reminder as I travelled a lot of those roads in the opposite direction this year, going up to Scotland. North Yorkshire is absolutely amazing and I discovered that almost by accident. I'm planning on spending a whole week exploring the county next summer. Thanks for taking us along, I really enjoyed it.

@@IanTed I have a week planned in the borders as D&G was another 'discovery' a couple of years ago on my way home from the NC500 (plus) and Northumberland is on the bucket list. The UK really has so much to offer, the difficulty is finding the time to explore it all properly.

I love that ride past Tan Hill towards Hawes, can't go wrong with the Dales, so many great biking routes around there. Then finishing off with the top of the Peak District, great day of riding that, strange to see you on so many routes local to me 👍

Been waiting for the next video-didnt disappoint! Nice to see you riding roads I do all the time-Dales, Peak District. You do have to watch the sheep-always get the one that thinks they're a pheasant and dive out into the road?! Lol. You can tell you'd had enough of the XR though....
The comfort on the XR seemed to get worse over time, couldn't ride 200km without issue🤣 should do fine on the Tiger

It happens to the best of us👍 not sure if you've kept up with recent videos, but the XR got sold a few weeks back, just too uncomfortable, and this trip was the icing on the cake that it had to go.

Beautiful scenery, except for the close encounters with a sheep 😱! Can tell the XR is starting to wear on you, and leading to your latest bike purchase 😉.

The near miss with the sheep made us jump. My friend had exactly the same thing happen here in Scotland up near Glenshee. She wasnt so lucky. Both her and her motorcycle ended up down in a stream next to the road. She had to be airlifted out by Helimed. She broke her pelvis. The sheep was sadly killed. You were very lucky. I like your new logo, it looks less like........what did your mate call them? Lady flaps.
I hope your friend is/has made/making a good recovery!! Could happen to any of us at pretty much any time! :(

@@thelikeablerider8800 she was fine eventually. Fortunately the break wasn't serious and she didn't require surgery, was just laid up for several weeks. She's back on a motorcycle again. She said the sheep came out of nowhere; it had been down the bank, so she hadn't seen it until it ran out and was too late. It could have been so much worse.

Finally got out my XR for the first time in ages as the weather has been rubbish. Roads were still wet and greasy but just great to ride again. Keep the videos coming

Bought back memories for me back in may had 4 dry days great riding in the Scottish boarders and like you stopped at tan hill pub for lunch on way home to black Country, lucky for me sheep were better behaved lol. For me I've now got the bug to explore more great riding in scotland.
I had such an amazing tour of Scotland, possibly the best time I've had on a bike!

@@thelikeablerider8800 Got used to our hedged roads then and realised the limitations of the XR seat😬. Had my share of in-line sporty fours but give me a comfy twin or a triple that thinks it’s a twin anytime, given my age and increasing arthritis I’m tempted by the 2024 Tiger 900 next time in red, looks a great package for northern b roads and the odd Euro trip. Looks like the Tiger will give you many happy miles on those lovely Euro roads😎👍..

The Defibrillator was out of order at the Tanhill Inn as someone got shot up there very recently and I suspect it was used on them to keep them alive. 👍

Thanks for stopping by! The bike came with the touring screen, and it was way too loud! I'm really not a fan of big screens, think they look awful, so that's why I change to the short black screen. I also don't own this bike anymore, you'll have to check out the previous two videos to see what went on👍😜

I know that you changed the bike mostly because of how uncomfortable that seat can be on longer journeys. Seems like BMW has addressed the problem with a revised seat for 2024. Only too late for you though!
