extremely inspiring! randomly caught your videos while daydreaming about DSG swapping my 07 Rabbit that currently has a 09G in it. Mostly just watching for entertainment purposes but still learning a lot from you

Thank you for commenting and watching! It’s a very good swap and worth doing! I also found another way to delete the code for tcm communication. So no lights will be on! Gonna do a video on it soon.

Do it I wanted to swap my rabbits before I started getting so many issues, saw these videos while I had the rabbit now I have a mk1 2017 Tiguan

summarizing, all that have to be done is to pull the stock tune ecu file off to remove the tcm communication error code and then flash the stock tune ecu file back on the ecu to solve engine light issue.
And as an option, you can reflash using a GTI tune ecu to have quicker shifts.
    Is that correct?

Yea you are right about the first part! You can flash a gti file on the computer and it will work just like a dsg car! No bucking and everything works good. Only problem being the tiguans never came with a dsg in the states. So when you flash a gti file the computer takes it fine, but all the other modules don’t like it cause they are all programmed for a Tiguan. So all the abs traction control stability control and epc lights are all on and won’t take the coding to shut them off. So still working on a solution.

@@prestofixit3518so what's the better route? Just swap a DSG in and deal with the slower shifting but better reliability when going for a k04 turbo. Or do the coding for faster shifts but have lights? Or swap the DSG in and go standalone ecu?

While getting it dyno tuned for the custom ECU I wonder if the trans can be controller off that

Did you use a GTI DSG ECU to get the software? They have different ECU from the Tiguan. I really want to delete the check engine for the missing transmission. I also think that without a proper DSG software in the Tiguan ECU, the DSG will never be perfect because it may be missing some info from the ECU.

It’s the same ecu from the gti. All that ended up being done was took the tune off the Tiguan ecu and removed the communication code and put the tune back on it. I got a dsg ecu incase I needed the file but didn’t need it in the end.

Ok yeah I was thinking about removing the code. I tried to code with VCDS for 6speed DSG but the software doesn't take it. Reason why I wanted to change the software or swap to a GTI ECU. Could use a Cobb Accessport for custom tuning. I have a custom tune right now but I am upgrading injectors and hpfp and adding wmi. I can't wait to fix all the shits lol. Been running with my DSG swap for 6-7 months now but the check engine light ... jesus I hate it.

@@michaelgauthier1829 yea the only problem is when you remove the code and flash it back on that tune needs to stay the same. If you flash a new tune update or anything the code will come back.

Thanks for the video. Planning to do the same on my awd tig. So basically this is reusing stock tune just with immobo disabled? If I flash a tune for example IE TCU tune to increase clutch clamping power for bigger turbo, the immobo will be back?

@@yuyueyuyue no nothing to do with immobilizer. All you have to do is pull the tune file off your ecu and remove the code for communication with tcm, and reflash the file back on and that fixes it.
