This is, by far, the most in depth video I've come across for a 458 S. Most videos focus on performance and it's hard to find detailed info on spec options. Great work
Fantastic video - as a Speciale owner, that was very informative and valuable. I have mine with triplo strata giallo plus black/ grey stripe - just like the media car (reg 458 FNE) that you saw in all the reviews. For mine, the V8's are best in that colour - as my son says, like an angry hornet. Easily the best Ferrari I've ever driven. All credit to the engineers for the newer turbo and hybrid engines, but the Speciale V8 is like nothing they've ever produced.
great video. its really interesting and i think this is a very great explanation. the 458 is a really special car, the base version is one of the best entry supercars because you get everything you want for a relatively cheap price, if you care about value a lot you can get an aperta, if you care more about getting the best driving experience and you dont care about the value the speciale coupe is perfect because it saves you 250-400k compared to the aperta but its much more exclusive than the 458 coupe/spider. if you cant find a 458 version fitting your needs you probably dont even know your needs
Really enjoyed the detail explanation of those beautiful automobiles. From the design, cost and maintenance your video was truly informative. I hope those Ferrari owners and potential owners enjoyed this video as much as I did. Although I would never be able to afford such a beauty, it was a enjoyable video to watch. Well done. Thanks👍
Great informative video.I would have the 458 speciale because of the naturally aspirated engine. As you stated these cars are most likely to have higher appreciation in the future.Cheers from Australia.
I’m in the U.S. and I thank you for posting this video as I am currently negotiating the purchase of a Speciale. Can I get your thoughts? The dealer told me that they had to repaint the hood (including NART stripe) and front bumper because the PPF had not protected the 4000 mile car from rock chips from road and some track use. Does that affect the value?
Yes but is a common issue with Ferraris. In Europe, a refinished bumper is not so much a taboo thing as rock chips are a part of driving a low car. In the US collectors seem to care more about original paint. That said, a reasonable number of cars get some touch up work at port of arrival. Also European delivery cars also get it before they ship out to the US
I love the Speciale!! But i after drive the Pista on the track i take the Pista but the Speciale come close! And one thing the 458 Italia come out in 2009 not 2010!
I”m interested to find out why some stripes go all the way to the front of the bonnet, and some finish in the bonnet ducts, and what effect that has on the values
I was told you could by the dealership when I purchased mine recently, but I have the harness so enquired about normal belts. Told cost either way is about £4,000!!
AWESOME VIDEO - I am in the market for a high mileage Speciale if you come across one as I shall be driving the car regular so a low mileage garage queen is wasted on me. ;)

I will take a 458 general 458 spider over a pistato spider any day. Well the pista is beautiful blistering fast better handling all around. The beauty of the 458 and the naturally aspirated sound is unbeatable.after all where are you going to use all that speed anyway and the 458 has plenty of speed for the natural street.unless you are a track person and want to track your cars the 458 is less money and it is a better more enjoyable car than the pista. I test drove the pista and I was so disappointed in the sound it's just lacking emotion as far as I'm concerned
There's no denying that the 458 Italia and Spider now offer incredible value for money and certainly have that added charm from the naturally aspirated engines. However, what the 488 platform lacks in sound it makes up for in sheer performance. Different powertrains, whether it be NA, turbocharged, hybrid, fully electric all give us different driving experiences. They say variety is the spice of life after all.

Factory stripe is under the (flat) clear coat no different than the Speciale….
