Hello Melanie! I love binge watching your videos! Ever since you Collaborated with Sandi Hester I've been watching you. I also watch your friend Natasha Newton and I love her too. I like your style of drawing and all the art you make. I too am an artist, but I'm bedbound, disabled, and I live with lifelong trauma and chronic illness. I'm very blessed to have a wonderful Mom who looks after me, and at 82 it's very hard for her to cope. We live in long term poverty and don't have a lot of money for food. But I have my own UA-cam channel, and I'm working on making a documentary about my life. I have a passion for art! I'm going to get back to your video of swatching. Thank you Dear!!
Hello Michele, I'm honoured that you are watching my channel and that you enjoy spending time viewing me creating and making art. Really special to read and your mum sounds like a star! Keep working on your documentary, I look forward to watching.
Beautiful supplies. ♥️ And so wonderfully organized. I love your colorful tins and the wrap around organizer and backpack. Thanks for the lovely video Mel. 🙂🦋🌻⚘❤
Thanks Natasha, think I realised I needed to as I was spending far too long trying to locate the colours I wanted! Plus I'm not loosing crayons/pencils nearly as much on cliff edges! xx
Such a wonderful video to have on whilst I draw Melanie, and I love your setup! This is so handy and I'm definitely taking mental notes for when I next do some plein air sketching! The little tins look so handy!
I love how organized your kit is! It’s amazing how many things you can fit into that pen roll. I hope you’ll do a sketchbook tour when you’re done filling your sketchbooks! 💜🥰✨
I always love your sketches Mel your palette is so vibrant it makes me really happy. Thanks for the lovely long video. Very tempted to buy those little tins now…..
I have the lochby art tool roll and they are so useful, way better than using a pencil case , the art roll is an amazing piece of kit for all artists, makes getting to your art materials so much easier .
Your setup looks so handy. I've been getting into outdoor sketching a lot recently, and it is a pain searching through my case for what pencil I need. I love those little tins for the neo colours too! And your colour wheel swatching spread looked so cool at the end. I really want to try this with all my art supplies now!
This is such a helpful video because i always end up wasting time and making the whole experience extra complicated. I have the mini Sendak and i put my pencils in point up……now I’m having an existential crisis of whether to switch it up or not😂!
Hi Melanie! I just found your channel and I love the colours you use and how soothing your videos are. I was wondering if you could do a video on your favourite neocolors and how you use them. I've been wanting to buy some and I love your palette. It's amazing how you blend colours together to create your landscapes. Great video! Have a lovely day :)
I realise I have most of those supplies except the scoring brush pens. I love sketching enough plain air. It challenges me to try new things and I think it builds confidence in not being precious or erasing if you use a fountain pen.. lovely relaxing video.
I 💕 the color coded tins thing and am definitely copping it -especially 4 when I’m grabbing 🎨kit/supplies on the way to grab a dawn or that “will you look at that cloud…” moment-& I kinda like you too, so don’t mind if I take you up on that subscribing 😋
Hello Mel! I know I’m a little late to watching this awesome video but I wanted to ask you a question, do you change out the colors of your materials depending on the time of the year? Or do you keep everything like that year around?
Thanks for your question! Actually it does change seasonally. If you watch my season sketchbook tours I did last year I share the palettes that I used.
You are such a warm person and bring comfort to a hurting world. Thank you for your videos. ❤
You are so welcome
Just rewatched. Great especially the color wheel and swatch cards grouping the multi-media materials by color. Loved seeing the entire kit
Thanks 😊 so glad it's helpful

You're welcome and thank you Madelyn
I love how organised you are 🥰
Took me a while but makes it so much more efficient for sketching outside
So helpful! Thank you! I love the "peg and awl" roll you have, very useful.💕
Glad it was helpful, it took me a while to find this roll, and take the leap to buy, but very worthwhile.
I loved seeing your kit (so well organised!) and the colour wheel and swatch cards are genius. :)
Thanks Natasha, think I realised I needed to as I was spending far too long trying to locate the colours I wanted! Plus I'm not loosing crayons/pencils nearly as much on cliff edges! xx

Thank you! I know I was a bit concerned I had overfilled it but it seems to be holding up well, and yes I plan to when finished.
Thanks for sharing this Mel, really logical and organised approach. The swatch cards are a great idea!
Thanks glad it was helpful.

Totally agree!

That's exactly what I was finding with having all my pencils in one case. Definitely is a fun exercise to try and put all your colours in a wheel!
This is such a helpful video because i always end up wasting time and making the whole experience extra complicated. I have the mini Sendak and i put my pencils in point up……now I’m having an existential crisis of whether to switch it up or not😂!
Mini Sendak sounds fine and limiting your choices is always good. Pencil up or down whatever works for you!

Hi Saleha thankyou for watching and your kind comments. That is a video idea I would like to do, so watch this space!

I totally agree! Definitely builds confidence and takes away perfectionist tendencies.
thanks for sharing
Just watched this again sooooo relaxing Mel 💜
Glad you liked it!!

hellooo, loving your videos. Could you share the song and artist from the intro to the video?
