I'm not a huge cat fan, mostly due to my allergies probably, but Momma is such a friendly and curious feline. Almost dog-like in the need for attention. Not to mention it's probably good to have a mouser in the shop.
I've never been a big cat fan myself I've always been allergic as well but I think its the litter box deal as well I like that I can let my dog out and not have the litter box smell in the home

He chased her out the door....they left.... and now "Sophie" is my "Therapist". I can talk to her about anything, she listens intently, and head-butts me in the nose/lip area if I ask her question. Kinda' like a "Majic 8 ball". It's a kinda odd relationship, but my son "rescued" her and stuck me with a bond I have to live with now, ....because!!

Cody there is no"getting back to normal." Take it from a 76 year young at heart, I can do anything myself. youngster. By the way I am also an amputee. Left, below knee. there is more and more of us out here each year. Accident took my leg also. What I learned early on, (I just passed 8 yeas) is there is no getting back to any normal. Each and every moment of each and every day is a new story a new way of seeing life and living life. One must accept what we are handed. You are blessed with an amazing surgen. But he can not put Humpty Dumpty back together again. Youw will learn to do things differently and accept the things you can change. May God grant you the serenity to accept the things you cannot change, the courage to change the things you can and the wisdom to know the difference. I repeat the Serenity Prayer everyday. Your Japanese style saw looks like a mirror and almost goes translucent when you you were making that cut you will have to check it it it's like it's invisible or not even there at all so beautiful

I’d like to see a video where you talk more about your experience with the US health system. As a foreigner we only ever hear the horror stories and the huge cost associated with the US health care system. Would be good to hear what it’s really like from someone who’s opinion I trust.
Glad to hear the hip is healing up well. I have prayed for you to recover fully and quickly. You need to slow down and take it easy for a while. This is a great time to do all those little jobs that keep getting put off. Painting something or cleaning something up to restore it.

I haven’t ever broken a bone so bad it needed surgery, let alone the femur. That certainly was a nasty injury and it’s amazing to me that you made this video release today let alone all the others you have already released. I just had 2 artificial discs put in the middle of my neck, haven’t been able to work constantly since last October or even at all since Christmas. Although my spinal injury has healed very successfully I have other health problems that severely impact my stomach preventing me from getting any decent amount of calories, lucky if I can eat half of a child’s sized meal every other day. And thats on a good day. Sometimes I can’t eat anything for a week or more. All I’m saying is love your attitude towards life, how you do all you can to honor your Dad and Granddad. How you interact with Jack and Sweet Loaf. How you and your wife work together. I haven’t been blessed with the opportunity to raise kids of my own, but I always wanted to raise my own as I was and my fathers before me. I pictured my life looking a lot like the content you produce. God has provided, and through personal choices that were deliberate disobedience, a different path for my life. So I live vicariously through your content, all while storing little tips from you to hopefully someday be able to implement in my shop. Currently less than 100 sqft, I know its hard not to be jealous of a 10x8’ cheaply boxed in covered patio porch. God bless you and your wonderful and talented family. May you have a full and total recovery. And that Father poor out such an abundance that your future plans that He has pressed on your will not only be successful but go beyond what you could imagine. I believe that we will see one last outpouring of His love with the undeniable manifestation of His physical power. I also feel like you will play a big part it the breaking of the dam that Religion has built to restrict Him. Oh one more small thing, can’t wait for more forge work, and the fine detail like you did in plaining the stud that you would never touch again or even see to enjoy. Ive always believed that our minds are tougher and stronger than our bodies. We have the ability to adapt and overcome so many physical challenges. You’re adaptations are a cool example. And you made them fast. My mechanic is in wheelchair. He does small engine work since his accident. His shop Is set up at his working level. The floor is completely free of obstruction and all his work benches are fairly shallow, so he can reach the shelves, plugs and air tool fittings comfortably from his chair. He’s a talented mechanic and small engine master. Humans are cool.
Hope you're starting to feel better. Good to see you still doing what you can around the shop. A few pins and a broken bone aint gonna stop a professional homeowner!!!

My brother hit a dump truck and broke his in two places. Amazing he was able to recover from it. The fact that he lived in the first place was amazing.
Cody, Couldn’t agree with you more. Four years into our marriage, my beloved was stricken by a mental illness, leaving me with earning a living, alongside bringing up three small kids. Fortunately, she recovered sufficiently to be released from hospital. It was my wife that taught my kids the basics, she taught them all how to swim, how to look after themselves. She taught them how to read and write, in all respects I went daily out to work knowing that she could not only look after herself, she could and did look after my three kids. I lost her last year after fifty three years of love and companionship. Look after yourself, and the same for Mrs. W.
Cody, just something to note about the potential hip replacement - I have a friend close to your age who had to have a hip replacement, and outside of the obvious recovery/rehab/etc he says the prosthetic feels better than his original. If you are forced to go down that route, it may not be as horrible as you imagine.
@@maxbradley9534 15 years of pain-free sleep is much MUCH better than the other option...if it comes down to it. For some reason hip pain is something you cannot sleep thru.
You always stress the importance of buying the best quality tools, heirloom quality; so you can pass them along to your kids. These videos to many of us are heirloom quality tools, many of us were never taught these skills because we didn't have someone to show us but you have provided this knowledge to so many for free so thanks for that Cody. Hi wranglerstar I am a relatively new mechanic and I have found a tool you might like from snap on it’s the SHLFD80A 1/2" Dual 80 long with the flex head, I use it for alignments and as a breaker bar and it’s amazing I highly recommend it

Cody, sorry to hear about your injury, Young Man I could have told you that’s not a good thing to do I broke my right femur in 2014 walking across my driveway. I hit a sheet of ice next thing I am laying on my back with my right foot touching my right shoulder yes you can do that if the knee replacement they put in pulls out of the femur end cracking up the femur with the most pain I have ever felt in my life ! By Gods grace I have healed and can get all kind of attention going threw the Airport security station, it has healed. I had a outstanding Doctor working on me and within 4 months was ready to go ice skating , not really I am never ready for that. Oh I did have a lose bolt to loosen up and they had to remove it, out patient stuff, my wife loved it and kept it to show I had a lose screw. Oh I had bilateral knee replacement 7 years before and when I fell it pulled the hardware out of the femur but it didn’t hurt the knee hardware so the put it back. God Bless Cody heal soon our prayers are with you and family !

A gun? In the workshop? Watching videos from around the world, it can come as a surprise to see what people in foreign countries view as normal practice. I guess that's the beauty of UA-cam. It exposes you to other cultures and ways of doing things that you'd never normally think about.
And we true Americans thank God every day for the freedom to have a gun in the workshop, if you want to. Hoping, of course, that we never have to use it. That gun is a symbol for us; that some rights (like freedom of speech and self protection) are granted by a power higher than an individual’s government. I can’t speak for Cody, but I’ll bet my paycheck that he would agree.

Cody, as a physician AND a patient (both total knees and a little back surgery), don’t worry too much about a total hip replacement. The recovery from a total hip is probably less time than a broken one. I play tennis with a guy who had a total hip years ago. He’s 90 years old and slowing down a bit now, but he can play tennis, and chainsaw in the woods, with the best of them. In the hands of a good surgeon, not much to worry about. And it sounds like you have that covered. Man, I wanted to come through the screen and help you with that countertop.
FWIW.......I am sending to you every powerful healing thought that I can muster. You deserve to get better, and I sense that you will recover completely. You will be fine!!!
The hardest part of being in you 50s is remembering how you are NOT in your 30s. Wait until you are in your 70s. All the things that you know how to do but have no business trying to do.( anything involving ladders comes to mind.)
That board is definitely not moving. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I really like using those teklok lag screws. So much quicker and easier than traditional lags. Also, Glad to hear you are healing up well.
I would love a setup like this, but dont have the wall space.. Im looking at building one for those 2x4 laminated work benches, but I need to put it on wheels so I can move it around.. Those tool boxes really make a big difference too! just having the tools organized like that just feels good.
Cody, do you find that your right leg is hurting because of the added stress on it? I had a bone graft taken off my hip years ago to put on my broken clavicle. That bone graft hurt way worse and way longer than my clavicle ever did. Hobbling around with my left hip in such pain for weeks, my right hip began to ache just because it was doing double duty.
Cody, considering your situation, that you have the presence of mind, determination, persistence to plan and change camera angles, work and record the progress, carry a benchtop on you lap while traversing the shop on your rolling seat, then edit and post the video...Good Lord, you are an inspiration. I’m only34 years old and I’m a stay at home dad due to medical reasons and my wife is the primary breadwinner for my family. It’s 2022 there’s no shame in being married to a strong women that can do what needs to be done to keep the bills paid and the kids fed ✌️

Hi wranglerstar I am a relatively new mechanic and I have found a tool you might like from snap on it’s the SHLFD80A 1/2" Dual 80 long with the flex head, I use it for alignments and as a breaker bar and it’s amazing I highly recommend it

Cody, sorry to hear about your injury, Young Man I could have told you that’s not a good thing to do I broke my right femur in 2014 walking across my driveway. I hit a sheet of ice next thing I am laying on my back with my right foot touching my right shoulder yes you can do that if the knee replacement they put in pulls out of the femur end cracking up the femur with the most pain I have ever felt in my life ! By Gods grace I have healed and can get all kind of attention going threw the Airport security station, it has healed. I had a outstanding Doctor working on me and within 4 months was ready to go ice skating , not really I am never ready for that. Oh I did have a lose bolt to loosen up and they had to remove it, out patient stuff, my wife loved it and kept it to show I had a lose screw. Oh I had bilateral knee replacement 7 years before and when I fell it pulled the hardware out of the femur but it didn’t hurt the knee hardware so the put it back. God Bless Cody heal soon our prayers are with you and family !

Watching videos from around the world, it can come as a surprise to see what people in foreign countries view as normal practice.
I guess that's the beauty of UA-cam.
It exposes you to other cultures and ways of doing things that you'd never normally think about.
And we true Americans thank God every day for the freedom to have a gun in the workshop, if you want to.
Hoping, of course, that we never have to use it.
That gun is a symbol for us; that some rights (like freedom of speech and self protection) are granted by a power higher than an individual’s government. I can’t speak for Cody, but I’ll bet my paycheck that he would agree.

Cody, as a physician AND a patient (both total knees and a little back surgery), don’t worry too much about a total hip replacement. The recovery from a total hip is probably less time than a broken one.
I play tennis with a guy who had a total hip years ago. He’s 90 years old and slowing down a bit now, but he can play tennis, and chainsaw in the woods, with the best of them.
In the hands of a good surgeon, not much to worry about. And it sounds like you have that covered.
Man, I wanted to come through the screen and help you with that countertop.

The hardest part of being in you 50s is remembering how you are NOT in your 30s. Wait until you are in your 70s. All the things that you know how to do but have no business trying to do.( anything involving ladders comes to mind.)
That board is definitely not moving. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I really like using those teklok lag screws. So much quicker and easier than traditional lags.

I would love a setup like this, but dont have the wall space.. Im looking at building one for those 2x4 laminated work benches, but I need to put it on wheels so I can move it around.. Those tool boxes really make a big difference too! just having the tools organized like that just feels good.

Cody, do you find that your right leg is hurting because of the added stress on it? I had a bone graft taken off my hip years ago to put on my broken clavicle. That bone graft hurt way worse and way longer than my clavicle ever did. Hobbling around with my left hip in such pain for weeks, my right hip began to ache just because it was doing double duty.
Cody, considering your situation, that you have the presence of mind, determination, persistence to plan and change camera angles, work and record the progress, carry a benchtop on you lap while traversing the shop on your rolling seat, then edit and post the video...Good Lord, you are an inspiration. I’m only34 years old and I’m a stay at home dad due to medical reasons and my wife is the primary breadwinner for my family. It’s 2022 there’s no shame in being married to a strong women that can do what needs to be done to keep the bills paid and the kids fed ✌️

I really appreciate you saying that about wives. My wife and I work from home, and homeschool our kids. But I do most of the homeschooling, because she loves her work, and makes more money than I do. What am I supposed to do? Tell her to stop being so brilliant and successful? All the best.
