When you're poling the flats looking for fish, stealth is key.
Now, once you've found the fish, you have to keep your eyes on them, otherwise, it's really easy to lose sight of them.
The problem with push poles (or using your kayak paddle as a push pole) is that you need to quietly set it down and grab your pole without making any noise or losing track of where the fish are.
The easiest way to fix this problem is with a hip holster.
It's really easy to set the pole in your holster without making any noise or taking your eyes off of the fish.
However, I haven't found any holsters (at least none that are affordable) so I made my own.
It's super cheap, takes just a few minutes to make, and in this video, I'll teach you exactly how to make one yourself.
This has saved me dozens of fish and I know it'll do the same for you.
Have any questions about making this holster?
Do you use a similar tool?
Let me know down in the comments!

That's an awesome diy, I was looking at doing something similar then I found something called a gunnie cordless drill holster on Amazon looks like it may work haven't tried yet though. It doesn't pivot like yours does but may still work.

Great DIY...More versatile and hundreds cheaper than a power pole micro. Great video

Great tip Tony, dont know how many times i have made a ruckus by having to put my paddle down and then pick up my pole. This should help a lot!

Now if I could only stand up in my kayak. I have terrible balance, lol.

Saw you guys fishing mangroves north of Cato's bridge where I was snorkeling and fishing. I almost yelled at you that there was a MASSIVE stack of snook, piled up under the jetty. Biggest I'd ever seen 😅 but you were filming. Big fan!

I love the ideas "DIY Tony" shares. I think he would get along with another youtuber I subscribe to. He's a catfish guy though. LOL
