- The push pole is basically a 2.5 in diameter pvc pipe. We got the thickest pvc pipe we could find. With caps on each side with waterproof adhesive to make it water tight.
Aluminum painters pole work great too! They also collapse for better storage. Also, try using your palm on the end for that last push and you will get a good travel so you can lift the pole let it drip for a sec keep the water out of the boat, just a tip that works great for me in the flats!
Sean Turpin Thanks for the advice! This was supposed to be temporary but we still use it until this day. Lol
Were u poling from the rear deck? Do u think it’s stable enough to pole on top of a yeti strapped down on the rear deck?
twinny5032 I was poling from the rear deck. The rear deck is very stable. I wouldn't have a problem poling from a yeti on it. I was going to make a video next weekend showing and explaining the stability because I've gotten so many questions and messages on the LT10's stability. Lol
How did you get the holders ? I need the mounts for the push pole I have a gheenoe classic.
I ordered them with my custom Gheenoe so I picked up the boat new with them installed
Brave soul lol.
That boat ramp is right next to my house lol
Well the first one in the video
Tebzey That's awesome!
What boat ramp did you launch from?
John U Loyd boat ramps. If you launch from there you can go straight into whiskey creek.
Thanks.
James Queen No problem!
I just found you guys. Great little videos. I am looking at getting LT10 to replace the kayak. I am always looking for new places in Florida to go fish and camp for my vacations. Again thanks for the info
Acetone will remove the ink off the pvc pipe.
NO FAIR... we watched to see her push the pole and she never even touched it..
Just don't leave the pole out in the sun over a season, or it might end up snapping and you could impale yourself. Just be careful man. To me, its worth the $50-$200 on craigslist for a used one.
I’ve used the same 1 inch PVC pipe as a push pole for the past 3 years and leave it outside on the boat. Has yet to break on me
