It gave me a good chuckle that the war boys wouldn't miss an opportunity to swoop in with the cranes like hungry gulls and loot their motorcycles even in the midst of battle. 😂
While never really overtly suicidal, Dementus repeatedly throughout the movie demonstrates a suicidal level of overconfidence. You could argue hes just an impulsive gang leader trying to coast by on audacity, but with his conversation with Furioa at the climax i think on some level he wants to die.
He raised her as a daughter, likely to take over his legacy. Plus the whole "pure child" thing is extra precious so he clearly sees her as an investment. Later on he's right because in trading he cashes her in as part of negotiations to get gas town.
Dementus had a daughter who was killed. Throughout the whole film there are moments where Dementus is seriously struggling not only with the loss of his family but also the new status quo of this world. I think Furiosa simply represents everything he lost.
I thought he kept her around as weird fucked up way to cope with the loss of his family, even if it was only subconsciously. Like he obviously didn’t treat her like a real daughter but it was clear that Furiosa reminded him of her somewhat. He also seemed genuinely hurt by her “choice” to stay with Joe at the citadel when he snatched the teddy bear he gave Furiosa back as if he were an immature child. Like he was using Furiosa to fill a void inside him that could never be replicated again by anyone other then his real daughter, but he kept Furiosa around just to even feel a fragment of that “stability” from his old life, when it was just him and his family.
Actually there’s a theory they were trying to save her from dementus here and they were actually healing her arm when she was taken into their cave due to maggots actually being a very good way to clean a wound
I love that the Warboyz and the Citadel shows their true power in this movie, and that they didn't surrender to Dementus. That would damage the concept we have since Fury Road; even better, this shows how HARD was to Furiosa, Max, the wives and the Many Mothers to fight againts them.
I`m sure Dementus is an amalgamation of the Toecutter and Lord Humungous. He has the musclebound physique and mic skills of Humungous. And the motorcycle and whistling abilities of Toecutter
4:33 I feel as though this moment is kinda paramount for this movie cuz it displays that even tho Furiosa is nothing more than war spoils for him, he still sees her as his. Not someone to be taken but someone that he sees value in. He may not know the full value of her but he still recognizes it is there and this is seen later in his negotiations with Immortan Joe

Poor marketing. Looks really cheap in the trailers. Boy do I regret not seeing this in the cinemas, my brother did and he said it was awesome.
I can only imagine, maybe same with how I felt about Mad Max: Fury Road when I watched it in the cinema. A movie that should be watched in the theaters.
@@johnlucas6683Wow!! It's a shame because now they might not make Mad Max Wasteland because of the poor box office. I wish I would have seen Fury Road in the theaters.
Probably because they told us from the jump that it was a mad max movie that had nothing to do with mad max and was in fact about a 90 pound female girlboss. Lmao people are tired of it
4:47 Gladiator: Mad Max Saga
Scabrous Scrotus and his Apostles of Awful!
He isn’t like his gaming counterpart, but it was nice to see him in the movie.
I haven't played it but the character art for the game seemed a lot more generic wastelander. I'm glad they made him more unique in this
@@Sagittarian1202 In the Mad Max video game Scrotus is more like Ricktus, he's huge but has to wear an oxygen bottle all the time, but he's definitely smarter and crueler than Rictus. I get the feeling Immortan Joe keeps Rictus close at hand because he's not good for much else than being a bodyguard. In the game Scrotus is the general overlord of gastown, attacking all the factions not allied with Joe and wiping out all resistance.
Also the Mad max game is kinda like a spoiler for furiosa cuz it shows the biker warlord dementus already but it’s not canon
Blame WB/Avalanche for that. I love the game, but they just took Miller's notebooks and cobbled their own story up from it. So a lot of things are from like concept designs and what not.
@@meanmichael6348 Yes. It's canon. George Miller himself said so.
Chad Immortan vs Virgin Dementus
I get that it wouldn't have worked for the tone or pacing for the War Boy to say, "my right or your right?" but I was still kinda hoping for it.
1:25 it dosn't matter what type of movie Miller does. he will always put an adorkable maniac
Fun fact Rizzdale Pell (0:39 guy just to the right of Dementus) also plays Immortan Joe in this one
"My name is Scrotus" he said proudly 😂😂😂
Can't wait for the emu war documentary
How exactly did they expect to get them from the walls? I mean, I guess he tried to get the people to rise up, but I’m pretty sure everybody up top is down for Immortan joe
They didn't know about the Citadel, Immortan Joe or his kamakrazee war boys. He probably thought he could intimidate and get some to turn like he had in past encounters, only to fail miserably.
@@CliffordBreeden oh yeah, that makes sense
@@CliffordBreeden Why didn't they know about the Citadel? No scouting party of reconnaissance? When they attacked the oil city they scouted it from a distance.
@@ceesmithIt’s probable that they scouted ahead precisely because of what happened at the Citadel. I think they probably got complacent after while and the Citadel was a wake up call.
@@carlosrrullanlind1067 ah ok I haven't seen the film and thought the oil city was before the citadel.
It gave me a good chuckle that the war boys wouldn't miss an opportunity to swoop in with the cranes like hungry gulls and loot their motorcycles even in the midst of battle. 😂
Scrotus and Rectus lol
4:00…..Oye….quite stealin’ me wizard!
While never really overtly suicidal, Dementus repeatedly throughout the movie demonstrates a suicidal level of overconfidence. You could argue hes just an impulsive gang leader trying to coast by on audacity, but with his conversation with Furioa at the climax i think on some level he wants to die.
i'm confused, is Dementus saving Furiosa because he "cares" about her, or, does he really like blood sausages?
He raised her as a daughter, likely to take over his legacy. Plus the whole "pure child" thing is extra precious so he clearly sees her as an investment. Later on he's right because in trading he cashes her in as part of negotiations to get gas town.
@@tanadarko6991 dementus is opportunistic. i think, in his own twisted mind, he cares about her.
He's hoping that she'll still lead them to The Green Place eventually.
Dementus - HEY
Dementus, who is a man, attacks the citadel
Albeit foolishly and lost a chunk of his men but I digress.
Footage of an Australian town voting for mayor.
"THEN THERE'S MR HARLEY!"
"G'day mate."
Lol.
Can we appreciate that George Miller actually incorporated Scabarus Scrotus from the Mad Max game. This universe is fully of crazy villain names…
I just realized the couple that tried to drag Furiosa into that hole was the same couple that tried to rot her later in the film
Actually there’s a theory they were trying to save her from dementus here and they were actually healing her arm when she was taken into their cave due to maggots actually being a very good way to clean a wound
They put maggots in Furiosa's wound to prevent it from becoming gangrenous and probably wanted to adopt her.
I feel like they wanted to adopt her because of how “Untouched” aka healthy she looked, hoping she could get them a spot on the top in the future.
I just realized that the War Boy who showed Dementus’ gang the Citadel was the one trying to bring up the bike Furiosa was caged in.
The war boy who did his job is a G.
Imagine people complain about cgi in scenes like this. Seriously???
He’s truly awaited in Valhalla, shiny and chrome!
This is some of the most whacked out futuristic action pulp I've ever seen. What makes it different is that it's pure primitive STEAMPUNK gone loco. Works great.
Scrotus looks VERY different to how he did in the game lol
he looks closer to thor in this scene that he ever did in marvel XD
0:19 this feels like a wrestling promo
Love how Dementus is an amazing Warchief, but a shitty leader.
The wasteland can be glad, he and Immortan met each other as adversaries.
Dementus in the field and Joe in the citadel would have been a sight to see!
Oh Thor.. What have you done Thor!.. 😅
Dementus is a tactical genius but strategic idiot, and Immortan Joe is both a tactical and strategic genius. But Furiosa is heroic for having a combination of tactical, strategic and empathetic thinking.
4:27 Note the meat hanging on the hooks next to the old Wretched woman. Not a lot of sources of meat in the wasteland. There's little doubt of what they wanted a fresh child for.
Good catch. Fresh meat.
I think they were astonished by seeing a full-life child down here
They don't eat the hanging meat, it's a maggot farm
This scene was so cool.
I didnt expect to see Immortan in this movie and I was so hyped when they went to Citadel.
They made look Immortan so sick I love this
…You didn’t expect him to appear? Are you joking or…?
Yeah the only real complaint is the god awful CGI the other movie had practical effects complimented with some CGI but this movie felt they did the opposite
Other than that the movie was pretty good
@@angryvaultguy
I honestly didnt realize cg when I watched in the cinema except 1 scene. I am surprised how youtube video makes CG much more evident
May the scene ride with us shiny and chrome eternally on the highways of our memories
With three words Immortan can command a suicide charge. Dementus knew he was cooked.
*YOU, ARE AWAITED*
0:36 "Then there's Mr. Harely and Mr. Davidson." Lol
Never mess with the high ground.
I love how the war boy being chosen to sacrifice himself is essentially Thulsa Doom’s “Riddle of steel” scene from Conan the Barbarian
2024's best movie.
This was SUCH an epic scene!!!
Scrotus & Rectus should have done a karoke duet on the mic
Lmao that one dude who said good day m8!
2:39 !WITNESSSS!
WITNESS!
There used to be a sport in Australia where people rode on motorcycle chariots.
Did anyone else think of Paddington 2 when Dementus was introducing all his friends?
You knew Dementus was cooked when nobody came to help him save Furiosa, except his Smeg.
Mr. Harley, and Mr.Davidson.
Took me three watches to get it.
"It's *OVER* do you not see... I have the *HIGH* ground..."
4:09 This scene reminds me of Captain America pulling Helicopter
I like how they brought back the guy who played nux friend in the war boys to play scrotus.
Ha! Is that Slit? I see it now but never would have known. Thanks!
@@MH-ro1lg Yeah Slit lol. The guy is a great actor though. Plays chuckler I think in the pacific aswell.
