As for getting back into it, drop a month gold membership and check out the "Yelinak" TLP (Time Locked Progression) server. TLP Servers progress through each expansion in 3 month intervals, so you can see all the content you missed or relive the ones you enjoyed the most. The Yelinak server is currently towards the end of the Luclin expansion, about to enter PoP, and is one of the newest TLP servers, so there's still plenty of time to get caught up.
