It doesn't matter which other point we use. As long as the point is on the graph of the parabola, it will satisfy the equation. Pick any convenient point. I hope that helps.
Thank you for the information sir
Can you help me with this please: 4=a(-4)*2+6
@@lia.g770 4=-4a+6 (Subtract 6 on both sides.) -2=-4a (Divide both sides by -4.) -2/(-4)=-4a/(-4) -> 1/2 = a
@@Mathispower4u thank you at first i was realy confused 🤔 cause the given example of mine has three points Good thing i gone to the comments
We all need help with math even parents
I wish my teacher could teach this clearly.

Thank you for your comment. I appreciate it. I'm also glad I've been able to help you be more successful in math!
I don't know if I'm just missing something but every other resource I have seen says that STANDARD form is f(x)=ax^2 +bx+c, and that VERTEX or TRANSFORMATION form is f(x)=a(x-h)^2 +k.
u r correct

@@Achilles21 thats what im thinking bro. Clicked "view reply" just to see if someone would call out that weird-ass analogy. Tf is "He teaches so well hes like glass in a sand bottle" supposed to mean?
@@GrattTheGreat I guess he might be referring to something like the way he teaches flows?

My teacher made it so hard to learn this, you helped me allot thank you
Literally so helpful thanks so much
Thanks, and everyone the x and y points are from another point besides the vertex that you WILL be given to determine that function.
omg, u just saved my life I have a math test tomorrow and my teacher didn't explain it well so I was so scared. thanks man u saved me
how'd it go?
This video saved my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quick and EASY!!! Thank you!
This is so helpful, thank you sir
Nicely done and explained.
thanks alot dude helped a load on my precalc homework.
Question: I notice in many of these types of problems the value of a = the slope between the vertex and the second point that you choose... but then I noticed that making that assumption did not always get me the right answer. Why is this? Is it ever safe to take the slope between the two points as a?
You saved my life too omg thank you
Very well made. Thank you :)
Thank you this helped alot
Thanks, that was very helpful!
Thank you bro,very helpful.great
You are a life saver

FINALLY AN EXPLANATION 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you, this helped soo much.
You just earned a new subscriber :D THNX BRO
Thank you.
lifesaver. Thank you!
very precise & clear
how would i find A and put into general form if i didn’t have the point of the vertex (only had 2 random points on the parabola)
Thank you soooooo much, helped alot🥺🙏
Hello, how can I contact with you? I’m having trouble with a problem similar to this
thanks! this really helped me :D
Now I get this lesson but there seems to be another problem for me, what if the function does not have 0 in the table of values? So that means that the vertex is 2 points away from each other, how do I solve this?
yooo thanks my homework is done bcaz you
i love you so much bro that was helpful very much
Awesome explanation :)
This is really helpful
Thank you wise man.
Very helpful. Thanks
Thank youuuuu!
thanks for this. i've been staring and crying at my book for 2 hrs
I am glad I could help.😀
Thank you so much you are a saver!!!♥️♥️
Thank you so much man.
When putting it in standard form why don’t you use the general form value for x?
Hi, this might be 4 months late but your question doesn't really make sense. You are probably thinking of when he was solving for the a value or something else. Lol... - Grade 12 student
you meant x = -4 ?
that's because substituting that value for x was to find the value of a; also, the x could be any value, as long as it is a real number. -4 was just used because the point chosen was (-4,2)
this was a late comment but ye
either i understood ur question wrong or i'm giving the correct response *.*
