Y'know, Something I always needed from math teachers was to explain WHY. The what only gets you so far, The how lets you know what got you where, But the WHY Is literally so important and I feel some teachers really over-look it. But here, I understand things very well because its explained fully in a good way
This is by far the best explanation I have seen. I appreciate how you went through 3 different scenarios simultaneously, and showed us how to get around them.
I love how you slow down and really explain what these terms mean like completing the square. It really helps to understanding how to convert standard form to vertex form
One of the reasons that Brian is such an excellent teacher, is that he doesn't do all the steps to one problem. He repeats the steps on multiple problems as he goes (for repetition) students learn much better this way in my experience! Kudos Brian!
Your videos have saved me... teacher never actually teaches, just hands homework out. This makes so much sense and I probably learn more about a topic in five minute videos the a weeks worth of lessons.
I wish that teachers were all like you man. Imagine the amount of content and time students would have to apply their knowledge of a concept, all while not being overwhelmed by homework as we often are. You a brilliant teacher man, thanks for all you do for the math community.
I am so late here but I have had such a difficult time trying to understand this in class no matter how much my teacher tried to explain it. I needed something clear with steps and this really helped me out, thank you very much!
The dislikes are from teachers whose students go to this guy instead of asking them for help. But seriously I spent actual DAYS trying to understand this through the notes my teacher had us write, and still got a 65 on the quiz. He explained it in 8 minutes and I got a 100 on the retake. I'm dropping out this man is all I need to survive.
Thank you very much for you videos. I have been using your videos since 2015 I think, to help my daugther from her grade 10 to grade 12 and even while she was in fisrt year university. Now I am using your videos to help my younger daughter Mbulleh Kebbeh who was in Grade 10 last year and now in Grade 11. Your videos are very useful. I am Mbulleh Kebbeh's Father.
my algebra teacher is so bad and spend 3 days explain how to do this and it is so confusing . You just made me learn it in 8 minutes. You are the best and I am telling all my friends about you.
omg i feel you, I currently taking Algebra 2 over the summer to get credit ahead of time and the college that is teaching me is not really that helpful and has weird techniques. Why cant everyone be as simple as this dude smh.
you are literally a better math teacher than all my math teachers I've ever had. They don't explain anything. I can watch your videos and understand the whole topic in a fraction of a time compared to in school. YOU ARE A GREAT TEACHER!!
thank you so much for this video, you won't believe how many people's grades you have saved with this video. Your 6 year old video is still helping high schoolers to this day. Respect.
Thank you so much! This helped me out on my homework a ton and it cleared up any questions I had for an upcoming test I have! I really liked how you did all 3 equations rather than just one like all of the other videos.
For anyone that got confused when he was subtracting numbers around 5:55. He is just subtracting the equivalent amount he just added to the inside of the parenthesis. ex. -3(x^2-2x)-1 >> -3(x^2-2x+1) -1 (+3) or -3(x^2-2x+1) -1 -1(-3)
See, this one actually made sense compared to the other videos I just watched. They failed to elaborate on WHY we do what we do in order to convert into vertex form. Thank you so, SO much! 👍❤
people complain about their teachers a lot but mine... omg. He gave me an F on an assignment because I didn't show work on one problem even though I got them all right. He's also rude to students who he finds annoying, he stands in front of the board so we can't see, and he doesn't explain things. He just does math problems and expects us to understand what he's doing. I've learned more from these videos than from the guy whose job it is to teach me. Thank you.
OMG!!! This was sooooo easy to understand! Thank you for giving me an 8 minute class instead of an hour class where I can't understand anything. God bless you, sir!
I'm taking adult day school grade 11 functions but don't always get what the teacher taught in class. I watch many of your videos and find myself wishing you were my teacher. You explain things clearly. Thank you
Apparently you and my teacher are beefing because anytime he teaches i understand but sometimes i don’t understand a thing. My teacher kind of likes me and dislikes me mostly bc im the “disturbance” of the class and also im one of the smartest and he put in the back seat, i can’t see and i can’t learn well from all the way back. So anytime he teaches he knows i don’t get it and he tells me “You’ll be alright” then I just go home to watch your videos next day I come back and he’ll think he’ll catch me “lacking” but I just answer his questions with ease thanks to you!!!! My grade in his class is a 95% and thanks to you, your simple teaching and a lot of praying and hard work. I wish there was a way to repay you because only God knows what i’d have in his class if not for you sir.❤️❤️❤️
I said you and him are apparently beefing because anytime I ask him questions in class he always kind of yells and says “GO ASK UA-cam” in a jealous manner

You broke down in 8 minutes what I spent several hours "reviewing", well done Sir. Also, you had several good examples of different cases. Doing them simultaneously helped reinforce the concepts and steps. I'd give 2 thumbs up but I have a beer in my left hand...

Yes , we complete the square to find the number on the far right corner , which is "k".
So in the first example , we got +4 by completing the square . ( we used the formula (b÷2)squared )
