Brilliant, I was just looking up tow behind drags to do some leveling... I have those exact shelves in my garage collecting dust. Found a new purpose for them.
Many years ago, my Dad used to drag around the pitchers mound at the ball park with a crosstie tied onto the back of His truck, with me and my Brother riding the crosstie. Worked like a charm, and we went home with dusty teeth from grinning so much!
Man, great use of them wire mesh. I work as a custom closet instaler. 1/75 jobs we gotta take that stuff down. So free! What im saying is i might as well copy you. Great idea.
If anyone has old tires around that is a way to recycle them. Line them up on there sides, 3 to 4 across to make a line , or more in a flat pyramid shape, and hook them together with cable or chain. We did that in Border Patrol to make a perfectly smooth " drag road" our side of the fence. Creates a very smooth surface we'd pull for miles to erase all tracks and show any crossing after.
Great idea... I normally just take a roll of chainlink fence and put a heavy concrete block and put inside. Then hook chains to it, then to big tractor mower, and start dragging!
I need to build up and level out my mom's lawn, but the best machinery we have is a push mower, well and her truck. I need it good and compacted so it won't wash down the ditch and I can build a greenhouse and another shed in top of it. Any ideas?
It does fine with the turf. I’d recommend cutting it real low before using the apparatus. The thicker the rack the better and you don’t want any jagged parts sticking into the ground (on the welds or edges)
@@ScottGrass Thanks! I'm wanting to top dress my lawn next spring and I thought that your idea just might work to drag behind my riding lawnmower. Take care!
American ingenuity!
Soil erosion yay!

This is why I watch UA-cam. Thanks for sparking the idea

Haha that’s a great story! I know the feeling. I remember an old 3 wheeler doing the same thing at the ballpark.
😂😂😂 love that. Dusty grins 😂😂😂😂
How doesn't this have more likes 🤔? This is awesome.

I like that idea.
I have a similar setup but i use it on my gravel driveway...going to level out my yard next month going try on the lawn. Thanks great video.
Thank you!

I had to rewind to see if the emergency sirens were in the video or outside my house lol
I was thinking about using cast iron grill grates, but this is even easier and bigger. Thanks
I can't believe how steady you are holding that camera with one hand while riding and twisted around with it pointing behind you. Nice job.
Hahaha, that's awesome, thank you, Iphone does the trick!
Awesome. I’m going to pull a shelf off my Costco wire shelving and is that.
@Kevin Nelson used a rubber safety mat with a plank tied to one end. It’s a small area though.
Brilliant thanks so much 4 passing this wonderful idea on 👌
I made one out of a box spring's wooden frame. Obviously, we're soulmates. 😂

Great video but the sirens in the background has my dogs going nuts!! haha!
Mine, too 😂😂 my rottie is HOWLING! Hahaha
Dude is excited!! Nice hack
Easiest way to level your yard - start with a level yard! That's all I'm taking from this video. :-)
Like doing a baseball infield
Man, that's a great idea!
You are a champion sir!
Lol! Seems to work pretty well!
You're a genius!
Thanks man. I don’t know about that but it works well for the right thing.
Soo awesome, brilliant 👏 thank you for this video.
Thanks for watching. A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.
New sub here love this type of content
Thanks Matt!
Awesome works great
excellent idea thanks for video
Aren't you just filling in the holes of your tine aerator?
Drag a ladder sideways to level dirt
How on earth would I get up to my second floor?
Does this actually work?
Genius! Absolutely genius
Pretty good idea
Genius!
easy and smart
What's with all the sirens
Nailed it.
I've used chain link fence and logs
That's a great idea, I didn't have access to one, but think that would work great.
My take on it. Free pallet, chain and that's it. My technical excuse and justification... Cost 0, as in free pallet! Work perfectly every time.
Good job
Thanks!
It's like double rainbow guy for dirt.
Haha
What model riding reel mower is that?
Got an Amazon link?
LOVE IT
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!

So please explain the logic behind leveling your backyard. It doesn’t looking like it’s getting leveled.
💯💯💯🍻
Smoke gets in your eyes.
That’s not leveling, that’s called smoothing
Like Butter!
Good idea! I am assuming that it doesn't tear up established turf?

@@tonymuse did this work for your lawn? Thinking about doing the same thing.
@@Southernpointp I never tried it. I bought a few bags of topsoil and just leveled it with my garden rake.
Chainlink fence it try
I like that idea a lot.
put atleast 1000 kg of weight and then drag it
Are you an adult?
is it just me or did nobody realize he is "leveling" already level ground.
I’m pretty sure he said he is seeding his golf course.
😂😂
that’s not a grate you stole your mom’s shoe rack!!!! lol
Not likely. Way to small for a woman's shoe rack.
How is this the easiest way not everyone have a tractor to pull the gadget. I'm thinking your about to show something manual need no machine
Easiest. Not cheapest
Really. Democrat 100 per cent. Fluff no stuff
You think a dem would be that resourceful. Tell me the video isn’t true to the title...
Notice I didn’t say best way to level your lawn.
